what is the easiest way to defeat kuriosan the acidic kensai that comes after you celestial fury. my party undead hunter lv 13, inquistor lv 13, bard lv 17, f/m lv 11/12, c/m lv 11/12 & f/th lv 11/13. have beat him before but cant remember how i did it.

I'd say the easiest way would be CTRL-Y.

As far as 'legitimate' techniques... Kuroisan's biggest weakness is typically that he can't see the invisible, and only a limited number of Protection From Magic Weapons memorised. Hide most of your party, get them out of his sight radius, and get a character with several Invisibility potions to shoot him once, drink, and wait four rounds. Then, wash rinse repeat until Kuroisan runs out of PFMW, buff up with anti-acid spells (Protection From The Elements is probably the best), and kill him.

What the heck is a kuriosan the acidic kensai??? He's an encounter out of the Tactics mod. He's a very dangerous kensai/mage with a unique weapon that makes him exceptionally powerful, and who has an appetite for enchanted katanas.

I'm afraid of Tactics. I just went through the Improved Asylum. Hard = bad. :)

Some things that will make the fight easier:


- Protect from acid any member of your party who will attack Kuroisan

- Potions of invisibility for the rest of your party as NonSequitur suggested

- Before attacking try to dipel his protections :
shields,stoneskin,PFMW.Do it with your inquisitor.
If he can't,then the easiest way are the arrows of dispelling when Kuroisan's Prot.f.magical weapons run out.

- He will keep casting PFMW so the best tactic is to attack with normal weapons.
Or when you have dispelled his stoneskin backstab him with your Fighter/Thief.

What lvl is your Bard?

If you want the best way of beating the sucker...

On a fighter/mage type character, cast Spell Immunity Conjuration or Globe of Invulnerability. After that, cast Improved Haste, True Sight on yourself (can't remember right now whether he goes invisible or not...cast this if he does).

After this, EITHER you can cast Breach on him repeatedly with mages and whack him...OR you COULD use plain, normal Katanas to get around his Prot. From Magic Weapons.

After that, its a matter of time! :)

Note: Its highly recommended that you have TWO characters doing this. Also, having your main mage casting Globe of Invulnerability or SI:Conj. on himself, then casting stuff like Greater Malison, Blindness, Glitterdust, Feeblemind, Finger of Death, Power Word: Blind, Power Word Stun etc...based on your level is HIGHLY recommended while hitting him with your other character.

Turn your entire party invisible. He won't see you and does not have True Sight.

If you have Staff of Magi it is very easy. Just release a lot of Cloudkills from a wand and immediately turn invisible via staff.

Be careful to have either spell immunity:conjuration, (minor) globe of invulnerability, or at least %100 acid resistance or his backleashes will melt you!

He is NOT immune to normal weapons. So whack him with normal weapons or punch! A fiery crossbow is very useful, if you fire normal bolts, they will hit, BUT the fiery damage will bypass stoneskin! Neat!
