I'm currently playing a solo Chaotic Evil MC Halfling Fighter/Thief (Ragusa influenced ;)) and man I love the special ability "Use Any Item".

That, for me, is the coolest ability yet. I've got my man running around meeting all the NPC's in the game that have their own "special equiptment", persuading them (cough)to allow him to use it. Admittedly some took a little more coaxing than others.

Like that do gooder Cernd. My man told him he just wanted to "see" his cloak (+1 AC - +1 saving throws). But nooo, he just wouldn't hand it over. Now poor Cernd is sipping his "nature juice" through a straw in a hospital bed in Waukeen's Praumenade (without his pretty cloak). Hehe, I'm so evil it scares even me.

Oh well, I guess what I'm saying is, I love the "Use Any Item" ability.

Hey Extremist, this is the ToB forum. Let the guy speak, even though he is an idiot. He did say it was a spoiler, if you don't have ToB then don't come here and read the spoilers and then complain about being spoiled.

exactly which part is the spoiler? I know that from the manual already... but as Imoen can't increase in thief levels anymore.. she'lll never get to wear Edwin's amulet... sigh

Thats why you open up Shadowkeeper and make her a thief like she should be again. And restore her old pic too.

Someone mentioned it's not spoiler because it's in manual? I don't have ToB so I presume I don't have the ToB manual either. Or I missed the manual with SoA?

how the HELL did you get Imoen to use the casymere!

thats by cheating and making Imoen a Mage dual class to a thief instead of the other way around, then you get her to a high level so that she can get that high level ability as mentioned in the manual, "Use Any Items" and it lets the thief practically use anything..

Munir: I liked Imoen much much better as a thief so I opened up shadowkeeper and returned her to her true calling. Believe me she is way more usefull and alot more fun to play now. Even restored her old pic too.

BTW I got overrides for that too if anyone wants em.

Can you take Edwins amulet? I thought he always kept it, like Minsc keeping Boo

I just have to share this...

My main character is a mage/thief, and just picked up the special thief ability "Assasination", and does that ever come in handy!

While fighting a bunch of demons, all of my main fighter-types were killed, leaving me with a thief, a mage and my main character. So, I figured it was time to see how Assasination works...

I LOVE it! With one hit he did 114 pts of dmg, blowing up the previously uninjured demon!! A critical hit, and quintuple damage! Using a short word no less :)

For some reason you can't take Edwin's amulet.
While living he refuses to give it to you, and after his death(ahem...if you kill him like I did :D) it just vanishes away.
