My favorite class is a paladin, and my favorite NPC is eather Viconia or Minsc.
Zen The Christmas Wizard Tue, 30th Oct '01, 10:37am My favourite class is thief. And my favourite NPCs are Viconia,Aerie,Minsc, and Imoen.

:D
corbulo87 Tue, 30th Oct '01, 11:15am SSSSAAAAAAAARRRRREEEEEVVVVVOOOOOKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
he is the best npc in the game!! a total of 95 on his stat roll and full proficincies in two handed swords and two handed weapons... one man killing machine!!!
oh and by the way, my favourite class is barbarian (dwarf, as a matter of fact)...
RythmicBarbarian Tue, 30th Oct '01, 12:11pm My favourite class is elven Fighter/Mage.
IMHO it's not the best combination but it's
my favourite. Best npc? Imoen. A "bright as rain" mage with usable thieving skills. Just what I need.
Will Tue, 30th Oct '01, 7:12pm I favour Berserkers (elven or halfling for a change from standard Berserker form and wielding 2 longswords), Conjurers and Avenger Druids.
In terms of NPCs I like Imoen, Mazzy, Edwin and Jaheira.
[This message has been edited by Will (edited October 30, 2001).]
Jack Funk Tue, 30th Oct '01, 7:17pm Favorite class: Ranger (although this time through I am playing a fighter/thief from BG on)
Favorite NPC: Minsc
Ragusa Tue, 30th Oct '01, 7:35pm Fav class:  halfling  THIEF
Archers are pretty cool, just like Cavaliers. But besides that, Mazzy is the best NPC in BG-2 SoA, followed by Edwin and Sarevok.
Tassadar Tue, 30th Oct '01, 9:03pm favourite class = fighter/thief
favourite npc = edwin is probably the most entertaining and haerdalis the most unpredictable
joacqin Tue, 30th Oct '01, 9:14pm My favourite class must be the berserker he is awesome. I like a character with a little spunk.
My fav NPC is Edwin no doubt. He is awesome and even if he is cheesy so is he the NPC most like me ;)
Fru Tue, 30th Oct '01, 9:28pm Favourite class: Halfling Kensai
NPC: Mazzy is undoubtedly my favourite NPC. A dead shot with a short bow, great up close (particularly by ToB, as she can get enough proficiencies to get good in a useful weapon)and the most attractive halfling knight I've come across :)
Namuras Tue, 30th Oct '01, 10:49pm Favourite class: The only class I've used more than once is fighter, so I suppose that's it. I think thief combinations are the most fun to play, though.
Favourite NPCs: Edwin, Anomen and, of course, Jan.
[This message has been edited by Namuras (edited December 25, 2001).]
void Wed, 31st Oct '01, 9:20am I love my gnome fighter illusionist and I also favour archers, sorcerers and bards.
My favorite NPCs are Minsc (Boo too), Haer'Dalis and, of course Edwin.
Cheers, Void.
Mirkwood Wed, 31st Oct '01, 10:42am Shapeshifter
Cernd
Running through Athkatla as a Greater Werewolf is just fun, and Cernd is my favourite tree-huggin hippy.
MD Wed, 31st Oct '01, 8:42pm My favorit class is the Undead hunter paladin
and my favorit NPC's are Minsc, Boo, Aerie and Korgan    ;)
[This message has been edited by MD (edited October 31, 2001).]
daltyr Wed, 31st Oct '01, 10:01pm fav class is cavalier. no question.
favorite npc would have to be... valygar. can't say i like his personality (not exactly the most entertaining npc in the game... that goes to edwin or jan), but he IS pretty good in combat w/ those dual wielded katanas. and to think some people give him a bow...
[This message has been edited by daltyr (edited October 31, 2001).]
Ironbeard Thu, 1st Nov '01, 12:47am Thiefy classes
And as for my favourite Npc, that would have to be Jan - a gnome who knows the value of a turnip, or at least the value of a spurious story generally involving overselling the value of turnip-based produce hilariously - but I digress...Jan digresses a lot too, did I ever tell you about the time...
Llandon Thu, 1st Nov '01, 1:27am My fav. class is a F/M/T....I like to go off on my own, cause a little trouble, and then bring my Bro, Saravok, to clean up the mess.
The only problem with a F/M/T is the exp cap. But even still I had no trouble finishing SOA solo. I've only finished TOB one time, but I did that with Sarevok, Imoen, and Amoen. If I could find an exp cap remover, I'll try it solo.
Masher Thu, 1st Nov '01, 1:33am The most fun I had from BG was with a human (gasp!) barbarian. always just that little bit too far in front...
Fav NPC? Edwin, 'cos this time his comments about the rest of the party being no more than brainless monkeys seemed more apposite than usual...
ios Thu, 1st Nov '01, 6:52pm my favorite class is propably swashbuckler/cleric, minsc-boo, edwin and valygar are my best npc's and of course sarevok!!!!
Firespark Fri, 2nd Nov '01, 11:40am Well first time thorugh BGII/ToB and im playing a 1/2 Orc Wizard Slayer. Bad choice but it grows on you and at 25th Level with all the best Armor / Bast Sword or Axe and Shield he is starting to just hack of heads whilst saying "Magic what magic" :). Also makes your early game play harder i think.
NPC Aerie...shes such a moaner but packs loads of spells and must be setting a record for being ressurected.
Grah'huk Wed, 7th Nov '01, 2:19am I prefer Wizard Slayers, since at higher levels they are basically immune to magic.
For NPC's, I'd have to say Aerie and Minsc, the "issue" with them is probably the funniest dialogue in the game!
[This message has been edited by Grah'huk (edited November 07, 2001).]
Igneous Wed, 7th Nov '01, 4:12pm My favourite class is with no doubt the almighty Sorcerer. I never used much different spells anyway, so he is much more prefered over those pesky Wizards anyday.
Favourite NPC: Korgan. For just being the bastard he is
Demonater351 Fri, 9th Nov '01, 5:55am Favorite class is Cavaliers, 'cause I like putting the whoop on dragons.
Favorite NPC is Korgan, despite him being a grumpy little bastard. But then again, I'm a grumpy little bastard, so it kinda works out. :p
The Hierophant Druid Fri, 9th Nov '01, 9:36pm ny favorite class is a druid and my fav NPC is sarevok(cauz of his deathbringer assault)
wittynewt Fri, 9th Nov '01, 9:47pm Hi,
My fav class is the Newt :)
oops sorry for the flippant reply I just couldn't resist Hierophant (I like that word, good choice)
Cheers,
WittyNewt
DeBhaal Stasion Wed, 14th Nov '01, 6:27am I prefer Mage/Theif...a theif running around with stoneskin and throwing spells like water..just a pleasing image over all. and with the thiefs use all items later in the game...a mage running with the carsomyr..an even more pleasing image..then backstabing with that...just beautiful
as to a favorite NPC..id have to say Sarovak(sp?) but other then him...i prefer to go it alone..
[This message has been edited by DeBhaal Stasion (edited November 15, 2001).]
Big B Wed, 14th Nov '01, 7:15am I find myself more and more liking Rangers, Druids, and Clerics the most. Bards are up there too for me.
As it is hard for me to pick a least favorable NPC it is also hard to choose a favorite. What can I say, I like them all.
Arek Thu, 15th Nov '01, 5:06pm I've gotta say I like Mage/Thieves.
Then again Monks, Sorcerer, Ranger/Clerics and Fighter/Thieves are pretty cool too.
For overall fun factor, I think M/Ts are about as good as it gets (I would take F/M/Ts if there wasn't an XP cap).
As for favorite NPC, I think Minsc makes life worth living.
Lord Sarevok Mon, 19th Nov '01, 2:43pm Favorite Class: Ranger/Cleric, this guy rules! I just love playing a Priest because there are so few good ones in SoA(by good I also mean of alignment). Also casting both cleric and drudic spells rules.
Favorite NPC: I'd have to say Yoshi, he's a great theif and his traps killed both dragons by themselves. Too bad he betrayed me.....I have his heart stashed in my personal chest at my stronghold  MUHUHAHAHA!. Well this will probably change to Sarevok once I get ToB.
saukoon Wed, 21st Nov '01, 2:17am definitely Kensai/Mage dualed.
as of NPC, I like the big guy with the small mouse (Minsc said: "Don't called my Boo MOUSE!"). Cute and powerful, esp weilding Crom Fayer.
It's pity that his witch killed by Jon, but now he'd found Aerie...
TIN_MAN Wed, 21st Nov '01, 12:15pm Fav. class: mage, sorcerer, paladin
Fav. NPC-s: Sarevok, Keldorn, Mazzy.
Black Rose Fri, 23rd Nov '01, 3:54pm My fave classes:
Half-Orc Wiz Slayer/Barbarian
Elven Archer
My fave NPCs:
Korgan
Jan
[This message has been edited by Black Rose (edited November 23, 2001).]
Arabwel Wed, 12th Dec '01, 10:12am My fave classes are F/M/T (Jack of all trades, but master to none... at least until the REAL fun starts...:)) and Assassin.
Fave NPCs.... Okay, Sarevok is really cool. Viccy is another one, Edwin is a vblast, and I also like Anomen a lot... He's really cool too.
Ara
(How the Hell am I suppsed to pass Swedish?)
Sarevok Wed, 12th Dec '01, 5:23pm My favorite class are Mage.
My favorite NPC is,of course,Sarevok
Edwin is also rather good.
[This message has been edited by Sarevok (edited December 12, 2001).]
Shura Fri, 14th Dec '01, 5:57pm My favourite class, is of course, the human kensai, the ultimate blademaster.
Of course, they dumbed it down in BG2. Bah!
Sarevok is my favourite companion, followed very closely by Viconia and Imoen.
Tasohan Fri, 14th Dec '01, 8:02pm My favourite class is the sorcerer. I'm currently soloing one through SoA on insane mode:hahaerr:
My favourite Npc? Jan.
[This message has been edited by Tasohan (edited December 14, 2001).]
AvaLance204 Sat, 15th Dec '01, 6:48am My favorite class: Sorcerer ( Sorry, an uberpowerful spellthrower is just too much to resist  ) and my favorite NPC would probably be Edwin, if only for his constant entertainment.
[This message has been edited by AvaLance204 (edited December 15, 2001).]
gollum Sat, 15th Dec '01, 7:03am fav class: thief
best ncp: BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Tasohan Sat, 15th Dec '01, 1:30pm Boo ain't exactly a NPC.:nolike:
Rhythm Sat, 15th Dec '01, 1:59pm Who says so? You can get Boo in your party.
Tasohan Sun, 16th Dec '01, 8:56pm Through cheating:rolleyes:
Rhythm Mon, 17th Dec '01, 4:54am You call that cheating?
Cheating is the Bhaalspawn powers known as Ctrl-Y and Ctrl-R. Cheating is using SK to up your stats in everything. Cheating is importing a level 50 character into a new internet game.
Creating Boo to join you? I call that enhancing the role-playing experience of BG2.
Niobe Mon, 17th Dec '01, 1:11pm Favourite class has to be sorcerer.
Favourite NPCs are Minsc and Aerie - I love how after Aerie becomes his witch he is always trying to protect her! (But it sucks when she dies and he goes Berserk and starts attacking everything in sight - including my party!)
Tasohan Tue, 18th Dec '01, 10:33pm Rhytm... This is a thing we can't agree on.
You can only get Boo by cheating. So it's cheating.
Taluntain Wed, 19th Dec '01, 12:42am Let me chime in... Yes, you can only add Boo by cheating/editing. So the debate is over. Boo is not a legit NPC and never will be. :grr:
Earl Grey Mon, 24th Dec '01, 11:21pm Sorceress (yes, I prefer to play this class as female) because I have to plan for and get full use out of every single spell she knows.
Korgan cracks me up. I love that grumpy dwarf!
Deathmaster Tue, 25th Dec '01, 12:06am Someone has got to say it. MONK. There I did it.
Fav NPC, Viconia, lots of pleasure, lots of pain.
Eridan Tue, 25th Dec '01, 12:38am For Boo....Boo effectively IS in your party. After all, he does the thinking for Minsc.
My fav character is the undead hunter paladin.
With the immunity to level drain he really kicks some vampire and wraith ass!
NPs? Well, I like Minsc and...Aerie!
Ok, she's a bit whiny in the beginning, but she is a powerful spellcaster and the romance you can have with her is nice ( especially in ToB where she really becomes self-confident and stops whining).
Archer14 Tue, 25th Dec '01, 2:13am Stop talking about boo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lord Sarevok Tue, 25th Dec '01, 4:57am I posted earlier on here, but I have now changed my mind.
Right now I think my favorite class is Assassin, and maybe Assassin/Mage once I dual class him. The posion ability is great since you can use it on ranged weapons as well, the lack of theif skills is really not that bad I'm managing just fine with only 50 in both stealth skills, 90 in lockpick, and 85 in find traps. If I played a halfling or an elf, this wouldn't be a problem at all, but I'm not, because I want to dual class.
My favorite NPC is now Valygar.
jesper898 Mon, 31st Dec '01, 12:00am Human Fighter
Best NPC: Aerie, Sarevok or Viconia
[This message has been edited by jesper898 (edited December 31, 2001).]
Rellik Wed, 2nd Jan '02, 7:16am monk and edwin. edwin rules. monks rule.
strange_machine Mon, 7th Jan '02, 6:13am The Ultimate combo Cleric/Ranger. This class gives you alot of value, ie, you are really a cleric/ranger/druid--- that is you have access to druidic priest spells.! You can disable spellcasting easy, mages, dragons, etc... with summon swarm or creeping doom. Undead slaying is a easy with sunray. It makes killing, vamps, lichs, zombies, ghasts, shades, etc a walk in the park. I used two sunrays on Bodhi and she was near dead. It only took my one more bash with my hammer to send her back in the old coffin.! Also, although good class with value, a swashbuck/mage. Basically a fighter/mage/thief. !
Archer14 Mon, 7th Jan '02, 6:27am No an archer is the best
Merlinster Thu, 10th Jan '02, 9:56am favourite class: conjurer(payed it since BG1 -> ToB, though I think had sorcerer been an option in BG1, that would probably be my choice then)
favourite NPC: Jaheira then Minsc...
yappie! Thu, 10th Jan '02, 9:16pm Hmm, My favourite character has to be the Blade - Then i take Ribalds ring and solo-ed through SoA! I also favour Swashbucklers (practiacally Fighter/Thieves!) and Sorcerers!
Favourite NPC: Probably Sarevok (if you're evil) or Edwin, and Nalia (for her sheer stupidity and Laughable-ness) if you're good.
SirCag Fri, 11th Jan '02, 2:23am Wel, i passed the game, well, let's say a couple a times. I think that the best class is Assasin, with her backstab multiplayer of 7 dual wielding Celestial Fury and blackrazor. Well she have litle stars with dualwielding, bt if you dualclass her to fighter, she is, well, no one can stop her.
And NPC:The best NPC is afcors MINSC, Edwin comes as replacement.
Cog Primius Wed, 16th Jan '02, 1:44pm my favorite class is the wizard-slayer and npc viconia or sarevok
Yogojunzo Wed, 16th Jan '02, 6:45pm My favorite class is the Sorcerer. At high levels, I love being able to cast 7 Time Stops in a row.
My favorite NPCs are Sarevok (love that Deathbringer assault and wicked laugh) and Viconia (very entertaining romance).
Bombur Wed, 16th Jan '02, 9:05pm Favorite class in a party: paladin, undead hunter kit -- a great frontline fighter against all opponents (level draining resistance kicks).
Favorite class solo: fighter/mage/thief (with xcap removed).
Favorite NPC: Aerie, because I'm a family man.
Meldethar Thu, 17th Jan '02, 1:29am Okay, what is it with all of you? If you need a theif so much, use Imoen. Otherwise just use a mage with alot of Knocks memorized. Unless you can think of something that someone is carrying something MAJOR that you want, you don't need a pick pocketer. Basicly, you just can't get better than a mage. (Okay, you theif lovers can have theif/mage. I DO kinda like them.) I know what you're saying though. "Well, what about during the time Imoen's at spellhold." USE YOSHIMO TILL THEN. As for me:
Fav Class: Mage (Specificly Invoker)
Cleric/Mage for Multi
Fav NPC: (I'll just put my fav party since I can't pick just one.) Meldethar (My chr; Invoker) Minsc, Aerie, Jaheira (don't ask me why.) Nalia (Wish she had a romance. I like responsible Robin-Hood style girls) and Anomen (He reminds me of me)
Does that settle things?
Astral-Druid Thu, 17th Jan '02, 9:45pm Fav Class: Wild Mage
Fav Npc: Edwin
Berem Mon, 21st Jan '02, 5:16am Favorite Class: Fighter(Beserker)
Favorite NPC: Korgan
ShadowDaemon Tue, 22nd Jan '02, 10:18am Fav Class? : KENSAI/MAGE Dual to mage after lavel 12 kensai? SPELLCASTING MONSTER CUISINART BWA HA HAHAAA HHHAAAAAAAAAAAA
(Sorry, not knows what comes over me... must be fumes...)
fave Npc? Haer'Dalis! Fluty Bard(can anyonesay where THAT ones from?) only middling fighter, why Hare'Dalis? Just casue when I do real deal Planscape RPing im alwase in the doomgaurd faction! Yay Entropy!
Frodo Mon, 28th Jan '02, 2:19am favourite class: thieves(any type)
favourite npc: minsc and edwin
Vinyan Mon, 28th Jan '02, 6:13am My favourite class : Multi Cleric/Mage
My favourtie NPC : Still have to find out, I'm in Chapter 2 atm and playing good-neutral party. Now Minsc and Boo is my most favourite.
I love bg2 Mon, 28th Jan '02, 9:19am I'm not sure how nany ppl will agree with this, but the archer can beat prety much any single class warrior type in the game, in both melee and ranged fights except for maby the kensai, mainly because of the called shot ability as well as having the same high level ability's as the fighter and also the fact that he can cast priest spells like armor of faith for cumulative effects.
he may not do as much damage as a fighter in melee but he begins with ** in duel wielding, and the damage factor doesnt matter if the archer is immune to physical damage:), my tob archer could completly own every melee character before they get anywhere near melee range with a whirlwind attack, and anyone that might have been able to would have been as good as dead with all the damage they recived;).
Ezellohar Shark Mon, 28th Jan '02, 4:59pm Fav class: Paladin
Fav NPC: Minsc and Anomen
