View Full Version : Elven Chainmail - where is it?
Elvenblade Thu, 28th Aug '03, 2:40pm So where can I find the Elven Chainmail (at least I think thats it's name :hmm: )which gives Fighter/Mages the ability to cast spells while wearing it. I know that that shadowthief leader has one, but since Iam good aligned I will side with him instead of Bodhi. Thanks in advance :thumb:

BOC Thu, 28th Aug '03, 3:24pm The male noble in Trademeet has one elven chainmail.
Death Rabbit Thu, 28th Aug '03, 4:04pm That's just the first one, anyway. You can find several in Suldanasselar, and I believe there's one you can find in Spellhold, but I'm not sure. I know for a fact that the best elven chainmail, Bladesinger Chain, can be found on the Black Dragon in Suldanesselar.
Does anyone else know where the rest are? I'm pretty sure there are at least 6 or 7 in the game of various enchantments.
chevalier Thu, 28th Aug '03, 4:43pm Are you sure? I think there's only the Bladesinger's, the one on Lord Alibaccar (IIRC the name) and perhaps some unenchanted ones in Suldanesselar.
Blast Skeleton Thu, 28th Aug '03, 5:09pm There is one, very late in the game. ("Bladesinger Chain", Elven chain mail +4 -> AC 1)
And that armor can also be improved by Cespenar.
The Black Dragon guards it, like Deathmage said.
Others include:
*Elven Chain Mail +2 (Druid Grove)
*Elven Chain Mail +3 (Planar Prison, bards only)
That's all I know.
Loerand Thu, 28th Aug '03, 9:05pm When you kill Aran Linvail, you get one...
Barmy Army Thu, 28th Aug '03, 9:31pm When you leave the Underdark, if you leave the area after having spoken to Elhan, then return to the area and take a visit to the area in which you reamerged to the surface, you find Elves fighting Drow, all the drow are wearing Elven Chain.
There is one in the Planar Prison, but that might only be useable by Bards, not sure.
Lord Allibakar (sp) has one.
Aran Linvail has one.
Loads in Suldanesselar.
... Ermmm... I havea horrible feeling I have missed one or two :hmm:
Menion Leah Sun, 31st Aug '03, 2:35pm I don't really know where all those armors are, but they aren't that good anyway. I think a standard Elven Chainmail gives 5 AC (correct me if I'm wrong). There may be some Elven Chainmail +1, but notuing the Bracers of 3 AC can't fix.
I suggest you get the patch that has the two bonus merchants and then buy the Robe of Vecna (5 AC and some great abilities for wizards).
Blast Skeleton Sun, 31st Aug '03, 5:23pm I usually give Nalia the robe of Vecna and Jan the Elven Chainmail +5.
Works great for me. :p
Menion Leah Sun, 31st Aug '03, 11:23pm You mean the Aslyferund Elven Chain +5?
Yes, that one's pretty nice. I thought we were talking regular elven chain..
In order to get the Aslyferund, you have to take the Bladesinger Chain +4 from the dragon in Suldanesselar, give it to Cespenar along with a scroll of protection from normal weapons and 40,000 gold.
Deathmage Tue, 2nd Sep '03, 1:05pm @Blast Skeleton: Whoo! Somebody said my name instead of somebody else's! That means I'm making a reputation!
Anyway *cough*, the Elven chain is worn exclusively by...elves in Suldanesslar. But apart from that, there's one guarded by the dragon, one in Trademeet (the quest after the druid groves, you would have to help one of the nobles), and one of the bounty hunters in the Planer Prison wears a Melodiac chain, I believe, which is only wearable by bards but gives the same effect.
Menion Leah Tue, 2nd Sep '03, 6:25pm If you want that noble's chain, just side with the other house, go to the noble, kill him and give the item to the mayor :) .
Wil Mon, 8th Sep '03, 4:42pm There is one in the Planar Prison, but that might only be useable by Bards, not sure.
Yes it is for bards only.
The standard elven chain mail isn't worth much I remember.
