Hey this just happened in Trademeet and I wanted to share. I entered Trademeet crypt with only my Chorister PC, buffed up to the max with Pro from fire, Stoneskin, Mirror Image, Minor Globe of Inv., Resist Fear, haste, Strength. I knew I was going to face TWO improved liches thanks to my mods and thus I had TWO death fogs ready for them, and my mod-helmet had already casted a True Sight.

I entered crypts and it was different now. Very different. There was only one lich named Crypt Lich, thanks to a new mod I suppose. To tell you the truth I have so many new mods I can not know which mod did what, and I feel suprised. Anyway, there was also an Improved Pitfiend which made me go 'oops!' as I did not have Protection from Evil, as I did not expect it. Fun!

I started casting a Death fog while my TrueS removed Lich's illusions, he was casting a Time Stop but I knew my Death Fog would hit him and disrupt his spell casting! Then...a Greater Mummy used a new ability. Suprise! 'Gaze of Despair', a funny Quest Pack new version addition. A gaze attack which stunned me. I was terrified. I was dead for sure as skeleton warriors and Improved PF (6 attacks, slow and disease, save vs poison or die, 20d6 fireballs, symbol spells, remove magic, improved inv, gate another; close to PnP) ran to me. Then the stupid PF released a 20D6 fireball which did 0 damage to me but badly wounded poor mummy, then PF started attacking poor poor mummy. Stuuupid AI! (though it is not that case, poor mummy was the closest target unprotected from evil. My luck!)

And lich finished his TS, casted Spell turning, Pro from MW and launched a Spell Strike. As time returned normal I managed to release my Death Fog! (I was stunned but continued my spell casting when I was councious again, a bug?) This effectively put lich out of fight as his spells were doomed to be disrupted each round, so he resorted throwing Minute Meteors, which HURTED. By the time PF killed poor mummy, I released two Sunfires to clean MR skeleton warrirors, but ofcourse PF was conveniently immune to it and he turned on ME! I dashed outside, where Jan had put three traps! My chorister and Arcane Fist entered back to crypt and fought the lich inside while Jaheira, Keto (SKed into a cool Skald) and Jan assaulted PF. PF was too tough though, he killed Jan with his poison, (doing 999 damage) slowed down and diseased Jaheira, and has panicked poor Keto. (typical of her, heh) Ugh. Lich killed my Arcane Fist with a naaasty Finger of Death. Great. I went outside, saved Keto via a resist fear, she enterd Crypt and charged Near Death lich with Sanchuudoku+4 and Freedoms Call, and blasted it into pieces with a critical hit, then we went outside and continued to battle PF, Jaheira was slowed down, her iron skins were protecting her for the moment but she could not score a hit. Keto hit a few times, my Chorister used lightning wand (it can target Improved Inv. foes) and PF was near death, when Jaheira fell to its poison. (damn she had a save vs death of 4!) What's worse damned PF summoned another, new, full health PF just before Keto scored another Critical hit to kill the wounded one! This was too much! Keto summoned three ogres via wand and as the foolish PF feasted upon them we two retread to the safety of Crypt. Whew. Close call.

But PF kept killing ogres (I was reading through the combat screen) and as Military Guards and Wizards attacked, he just...slaughtered a lot of Guards and a few mages when I ressurected my party inside via rod and a mod-ring. We healed, re-equipped and buffed, and went outside to face PF.

But he was nowhere to be found.

Do you have any idea where he is? I followed a huge trail of fallen bodies, but he was nowhere to be found. I used True Sight in case he was invisible but stil,l could not find him.

Oh my, so a free PitFiend is lurking in the streets of Trademeet? Do you know if he is a summon with limited time, or was he permanent? Poor folk of Trademeet then. :shake: So what say you? This battle and unfolding events were soo cool! :thumb: That trail of fallen guards and mages were...interesting. It was my fault, though, I hadno other choice. :p

Pit fiends are gated, not summoned. It'll wander Faerun until it is killed in PnP. Weimer's rather inaptly named "Slightly tougher Demons" component, I believe, limits the duration of a Pit Fiend's summoned reinforcements to 10 turns.
