View Full Version : RC: Daybreak in Silverymoon
Erran Fri, 13th Jul '01, 12:40am When Xalen awoke he noticed a piece of parchment had been pushed under his door. Reading it, it said:
"If you persist in sticking your nose into things that do not concern you I shall have to sever it and feed it to you for supper.
Regards, M."
OoC Did Knomal get ANY sleep last night?
ayecapitan Fri, 13th Jul '01, 5:03am OoC No, he did not, therefore he's ready to be penalized for fatigue :)
As soon as the morning sun started to shine in Knomal's half-open eye, his half-awareness quickly faded away. He remembered that a few hours ago he settled on a pier to observe the surroundings, and he did not get much rest at all.
He set his course to the inn, noting that the dog was not around. This fact did not surprise him, and Knomal strided to the inn, feeling more and more sleepy with every minute.
I expected much more of this night, he though, recalling what has happened during his stay at the docks, and concluding that nothing really did happen. When he entered the inn and settled at a table, his mood far from good, for he struggled to remain clear-minded. He waited for people to come down...
Shadow Assassin Fri, 13th Jul '01, 9:24am Xander looks around the Inn and notices it doesn't look as it did the night before, as if someone had come in during the night. He feels as if there had been an evil presence, Xander doesn't like this. Not because evil was around, but because the balance had been upset, and now he must do good until the balance is restored, abd good is no where near as fun as slightly evil, or a lil chaotic.
ooc: I rerolled using the generator, I'll send it when I'm on my other comp.
Erran Fri, 13th Jul '01, 9:56am Thomas invited the others to join his table as he breakfasted on his favourite wild boar sausages.
"You look like you spent a rough night Knomal? Anyway my friends, I've been thinking. There is a Herald in the city, goes by the name of 'Dark Stag', I wonder if he might know something of the symbol?"
[This message has been edited by Erran (edited July 13, 2001).]
ayecapitan Fri, 13th Jul '01, 4:53pm This was one of the few cases when Knomal desired a mug of ale to bolster his spirit. He was relieved at the thought that spirits are quarantined though, for never did he draw any good from drinking.
"Good morn to you too," he adressed Thomas, keeping his true emotions about the night to himself, "Herald... Good enough, 'tis worth a try..."
Knomal ordered a steak, and went deep into his morning (or late night?, he thought) meal. He was finished in a blink, and continued to stare into his plate.
ArtEChoke Fri, 13th Jul '01, 7:10pm He could swear he saw that fellow jump out of a tree.
Albrechto Horatio Pimm shook his head and rubbed his eyes... Yes, the strange man (was it a man?) was definately heading out of the tree-line towards the road that lead to the gate of Silverymoon. Interesting.
For the lack of anything better to do, Pimm (as most people called him, when they weren't referring to him as Albrechto or Horatio) decided to follow the man - at an extreme distance, just to see where he was going. They were, after all, heading towards the same destination - roughly.
Albrechto was feeling lucky, he was thinking this man that just hopped out of a tree was going to go do something interesting in town, and Horatio was always up for a little unpredictable entertainment.
Eventually the man steered into an inn, "The Bright Blade Brandished" "Eh?" he thinks to himself, "the man sleeps in a tree, then walks to an inn? Interesting indeed..."
Far behind the man, he eventually gets through the front door, and takes a casual look around. People eating, "I wonder if they're tennants here? I wonder if any of them slept in a tree..."
Pimm locates the man, who now appears to be an elf or a half-elf, walks right up and asks, "I take it, sir, that the lodgings here weren't to your expectations, but the food is decent enough to come back to?"
Seeing the look that his greeting brought on by his new aquaintences he backtracked, "Pardon my manners friends" the heavy man announces, "I'm Albrechto Horatio Pimm, would anybody care to sport me some breakfast - in exchange for some light healing perhaps?"
(Ooc Erran I'm emailing you the Character sheet right now)
Ironbeard Fri, 13th Jul '01, 9:10pm Jakob rose, washed in a basin of cold water which had been conveniently left at the door of his room, dressed and walked downstairs, yawning and idly performing stretching exercises. "Ah, brothers!" he remarked, still half asleep, "I hope I have not missed breakfast! A new dawn brings us closer to exposing the rott..." he stopped, from the expressions he could see on the patrons he could tell some evil had transpired in the night. "What has happened?" he asked, coming sharply awake with the fear that the murders might start coming a little closer to home.
Crawl Sat, 14th Jul '01, 8:01am As the light streamed into the window and splashed against Xalen's face, his eyes slowly began to open. He arose in bed, still wearing what he had the night before and with his book open in his lap. He stretched toward the sky, trying to work the stiffness from his body. Looking down at his bed, he cursed to himself "Damn uncomfortable thing. One would think the owner might at least invest in some decent beddings."
Closing the book, he arose and walked over the the chair to check his armor and weapons. As his mind focused, a slip of paper near the door caught his eye. "This had better not be a bill. I paid the barkeep last night," he thought to himself."
Picking up the paper, we walked toward the window as he read it. And as he read, anger pumped through his veins where blood had been minutes before. Xalen clinched his fists around the note, his knuckles turning white as he stared coldly out into the distance. "So, this is the way it shall be, then. I will not be made a fool or, nor shall I be dismissed. If you wish to make it personal, personal it shall be. Find a cleric and pray, my friend, for death shall not come quickly. I shall take great pleasure from toying with you just as you are with me now. Pray for mercy from your god, because you will find none with me."
With that, Xalen stormed from his room and bolted down the stairs. Seeing familiar faces from the night before sitting at a table, he marches toward them like a man possesed. As they obviously do not notice his aproach, he announces himself by slaming the note and his hand onto the table. "If any one of you knows anything of this, speak now."
Erran Sat, 14th Jul '01, 9:21am Thomas scanned the note. "Oghma's beard!" he cussed, "but she's a cool customer. She must have followed us back here and slipped in during the night. Look, if anyone wants to leave now, I'll understand. The rest, follow me; let's see what 'Dark Stag' can tell us!"
Thomas led them to 'high class' part of Silverymoon near the High Lady's Palace. They stopped at a solid house with the sign of the Harper's over the door. He knocked and an elderly gentleman with bright, alert eyes came to the door in his dressing gown.
"Sorry to disturb you, sire, but could you help us determine the origin of this symbol?" Thomas inquired. A fee was mentioned which Thomas paid.
"Hmm, not part of any noble coat of arms, let me check the trademark register. Ah yes, I thought it looked familiar. 'The Crimson Serpent Trading Coster' motto: Infinite Destinations. They have a warehouse in the south of the city, off Spicer street."
Crawl Sat, 14th Jul '01, 9:40am Upon hearing this bit of information, Xalen steps outside into the morning air to collect his thoughts. Breathing deeply, he checks his hastily donned armor and takes a minute or two to readjust it, feeling the extra minute might save a few years off his life later today in the state he was in. Coldly, he stared into the morning sky, and slowly reentered the building. Walking to Thomas, he turned his back to the old man and said, slowly and deliberately, "We need to think this out before we head anywhere near this group. If a trading coaster has any gold behind these actions, I'm sure those responsible are well worth the price they have paid. I will not be toyed with by anyone, but I will not give them any reason to take me as a fool either. We should come up with a plan of action before we advance any further. What do you think good bard?"
OOC: What's the channel # of the new roleplay chatroom? #namelessroom perhaps?
Erran Sat, 14th Jul '01, 4:39pm "Aye, you're right there, Xalen my friend. But on the other hand, if we wait too long the birds may fly the nest. So, does anyone have any bright ideas?"
OoC Check out Community on Sorcerer's nav bars, then chatrooms. The channel is #sorcerers_nwn , its a good idea to have mIRC. I can around from 10pm GMT - 12pm gmt tonight (I think thats 5pm - 7pm eastern)
or 7am GMT (11pm pacific) if anyone wants to have a shot at 'live' online play.
Ironbeard Sat, 14th Jul '01, 5:01pm Jakob looked up at Thomas and Xalen. "By Glittergold, none are more anxious than me to expose murderous corruption in mercantile circles, be it these Crimson Serpents or their competitiors, but I agree with Xalen on the need for caution. Hmmmm. I have a slight mercantile upcringing, perhaps I could gather information, pretendin..." he stops abrublty and fear crosses his face as he thinks of Oliver. "Uhhhh, scratch that... claiming to be a business contact of Tadman's may very well be suicide."
[This message has been edited by Ironbeard (edited July 15, 2001).]
ayecapitan Sat, 14th Jul '01, 5:43pm "An idea occured to me... Maybe our good friend Magenta's using the insignia of those Serpents to set them up... They might not be responsible, they might not even know of what is happening here lately... Xalen's um, note - does it have a serpent on it? And 'twould be purely logical to put your crimes on others' shoulders, to have time for reaching your goal with no interference. But o'course, let us check the possibility."
Knomal was going to tap on his hat, but noticed that the thing has disappeared during his stay in the docks.
"But if they are connected, it makes the situation tricky. How are we to approach them, as murderedrs or the victims?"
[This message has been edited by ayecapitan (edited July 14, 2001).]
ArtEChoke Sat, 14th Jul '01, 5:49pm Pimm furrows his brow, the men of this Inn are completely ignoring him, which means he's likely not going to be able to aquire something to eat for free. They're so caught up in some "serious" conversation that they don't seem to notice that he's trying to interrupt them.
He leans in closer to the group and asks, "Excuse me gentlemen... am I interrupting something?"
Ironbeard Sat, 14th Jul '01, 8:04pm Jakob looks round and addresses Pimm, "If you must know comrade, we're investigating a murder- if you want to help you should probably talk to the bard." he indicates Thomas, then looks to Knomal. "I would have classed them as victims, given that Mr. Delver appears to have been a member."
Crawl Sat, 14th Jul '01, 11:08pm Xalen drums his fingers on a nearbye counter as he stares blankly, furrowing his brow and digesting the other's opinions. Finally, he looks down at the gnome and says, "You may very well be right, sir. Seems that, if the man murdered was Delver, and he was the sender of the letter, then he must be tied into this trading coaster, and they must be the ones who have come into these artifacts. Or perhaps he alone has come into these artifacts, so this still in no way makes all of the members of this trade consortioum victims, as someone obviously didn't want that letter sent. Someone seems to want these artifacts for themselves, so it may be a mysterious outsider, or it may be a member of this merchant league. We should look into this carefully, perhaps have someone pose as a buyer interested in antiquities. Perhaps then we may get a feel for the members of this group, and have some idea as to whether they may be trusted."
"I have some limited knowledge of such magical artifacts, and it would apear that Knomal does as well. I'm willing to do what I can to help, as long as I am treated fairly if there are any rewards to be gained in all of this mess.....and as long as I am allowed to have my day with whoever has seen fit to taunt me while I sleep. Gentlemen, time is wasting away, we must decide upon a plan of action soon, if we are to solve this crime. What shall we do?"
Shadow Assassin Sun, 15th Jul '01, 2:31am Xander sits back and becomes bored with all the speculation and idle chatter. He pulls out Draco, sets him on the table along with his ball, and watches him play. After a lil Draco becomes tired, and looks thirsty. As does Xander. So Xander attempts to cast create water in the jug on the table.
ooc: sorry I haven't been on, I'm starting a new job and now I gotta get up at 2:30am. I sent my new char sheet its much better than the last. 1st send was the wrong sheet, sent it from the wrong folder.

Erran Sun, 15th Jul '01, 9:14am IC "Yes Mr Pimm, we have a double murder to solve here. You are welcome to join us, I fear we may need all the help we can get!"
Xander succesfully creates a jugful of deliciously refreshing crystal clear water, using one of his Orisons.
OoC: Summarising last nights online session:
The party crossed the Moonbridge and entered the newer, south side of the city. They located the Crimson Serpent Trading Coster, a 2 storey warehouse off Spicer street.
Jakob volunteered to do a little scouting while Knomal and Thomas kept lookout. He entered the side office and successfully BLUFFed the clerk into believing he was a friend of Delver. He learned the following:
* The Coster is owned by Miss deKrynn
* Delver sometimes ships items in boxes to various addresses in Waterdeep and Luskan
* The name 'Martok' did ring a bell for the clerk
* The next waggon for Waterdeep leaves in 1 hour, at 9am
* Jakob sent a sealed letter to Martok warning him he may be in danger, and left it with the clerk
He then left the coster and returned to tell his tale to the others waiting round the corner.
Jakob earns 50xp for his scouting.

ArtEChoke Mon, 16th Jul '01, 7:10am Pimm, regards the story that his new diminutive friend has relayed. In scarcely a couple of hours upon entering the town, he's encountered a double murder and a completely independent group, free of the constraints of the law looking into it.
"And they told me this town was boring and stuffy" he thinks to himself.
Normally he wouldn't be very interested in solving someones murder who had no relation to himself, these fellows didn't even happen to get murdered in his presence. However as luck would have it, he arrived in time to see it starting to unravel, so taking it as a sign, he says, "Very well, I will lend my assistance if it is wanted."
"So would I be correct in assessing that our next step should be to locate this "Miss deKrynn?" or heading for Waterdeep?"
"Hmm, I've only been in town for morning, and I'm already talking about leaving..."
(Ooc was Martok the name on the letter found on the dead man?)
Erran Mon, 16th Jul '01, 11:00am Thomas addressed the new 'recruit': "Well met, Master Pimm, your help would be much appreciated. The authorities seem to suspect our friend Myrdock at the Bright Blade of serving bad ale but we think otherwise. Jakob has sent a letter warning Martok in Waterdeep and he has established that Miss deKrynn is somewhere in yon warehouse. Now, what are we to do about it?"
Far away the bell at the Temple of Helm chimed for 8:15am.
OoC a) I am trying to break away from the old cliche that groups can ONLY form in taverns. Feel free to roleplay your characters in at any opportune moment, or e-mail me to work something out.
b) Live on-line session Monday night starts 5-7pm EST (10-12pm GMT)in the nameless chatroom. If we get 4 players or more we can commence to rock.
c) Any (US based) volunteers to co-DM?

Shadow Assassin Mon, 16th Jul '01, 11:10pm Xander takes a sip of the water, then offers a lil to Draco, who gladly accepts and seems to want some more. He then leans back and thinks for a second. he says, "What do we know so far?" Then answering his own question replies, "not that much. So why are we sitting here doing nothing?" He then pull out his staff and begins working on it trying to improve it's striking (turn it into masterwork).
ooc: since I'm so new and just getting the hang of the char gen, I have found new things that if I had known I would have included so I'm sending yet another char sheet that is edited to fit my skills and char better.
Erran Tue, 17th Jul '01, 10:19am Summarising the events of Monday nights online session:
Knomal, Jakob and Mr Pimm decided to make another attempt to speak to the owner of the Crimson Serpent Coster, while Thomas kept watch. When they entered the office the clerk seemed very nervous, told them they were 'closed' and fled out of the back door. They followed, into a dining area then Pimm tried a side door. It opened into the main warehouse, where a wagon and team of horses stood, surrounded by crates.
A half orc guard had a crossbow trained on the door and as Pimm retreated he loosed off a bolt, striking the cleric square in the shoulder. The party closed the door, Pimm removed the bolt, healed himself and they reconsidered. Knomal checked out the staircase which led from the dining room to a landing on the upper floor ....
OoC Party: Feel free to add how your character saw things.
Next online Tues, 5-7pm EST, in the Nameless Room.

Crawl Wed, 18th Jul '01, 7:59am OOC: No problem Erran even though I did like my improvisation. Prehaps you should be a bit more detailed (just a suggestion) on your rundowns on live gaming sessions because, like I said, I didn't understand that she was the wagon mistress or that the wagon to waterdeep was departing from the warehouse. I was just trying to keep my name in the story ;)
Xalen, deciding not to wander to such a dank and dusty warehouse with the rest of the party, made his way to the local supply shop to purchase some arrows, as he was fresh out. "Best to be safe rather than sorry later on," he thought to himself. Stroling around the store, his eye catches a masterwork bastard sword. Definately something to explore later, when sufficient funds are to be had, but such a weapon was simply not in his deck of fate for today. Summoning the rather burly shopkeep, Xalen purchaces 20 arrows (OOC: does a quiver come with these??), along with a sack, a waterskin, and a flint and steel. Having paid the shopkeep, Xalen exits the shop and slowly stolls to where the party is investigating across town. He takes in the city sights in the light of day, marveling at such a feat as the moonbridge. Eventually, he sees the warehouse in the distance.

Erran Wed, 18th Jul '01, 12:01pm OoC: Thanks, Xalen, for keeping us on the same page!
Tuesday night online:
While Jakob searched downstairs, Knomal went upstairs, followed by Pimm. At the top or the stairs was a door guarded by a dwarf. A combination of fast talk and bribe convinced the dwarf 'Barent' to change sides. the door led onto a mezzanine or balcony which ran around the warehouse. Below a half orc was loading the wagon, seeing the party on the balcony he gave the alarm and drew his shortsword. Barent drew his greatsword, ran round the balcony and descended the stairs. In the ensuing battle Barent was struck several times and Pimm used his healing skills. Knomal's dart missed but Pimms sling hit true. Finaly Barent struck home and the half orc guard dropped.
Meanwhile, the clerk had opened the doors and climbed on the waggon which now began to leave. Knomal tried to grab the backboard but lost his BALANCE and fell in the dust. Barent made a running JUMP and landed in the back. A red haired woman hissed "Traitor" at him and jabbed a hairpin into his chest. Barent was now in very bad shape, (1hp) with failing strength we slashed at the woman in the back of the swaying wagon. She screamed and fell, mortaly wounded.
"Stop!" Barent called to the clerk driving the wagon. He brought the horses to rest, just outside the West barracks of the Knights in Silver.
"Help! Thieves! Murderers!" he cried, as he raised his hands above his head. Knights and robed figures surrounded the wagon.
Meanwhile, back in the warehouse, Knomal searched the body of the half orc and Pimm cracked open some crates. They contained (recent) pottery and gardening tools.
OoC No more online sessions until weekend, please post here. Remember, the party in the warehouse do not know what has happened to Barent and vice - versa.
[This message has been edited by Erran (edited July 19, 2001).]
ArtEChoke Wed, 18th Jul '01, 7:20pm Pimm, looks up from the crates that he's opened, "Usless junk..." he looks casually in the direction that the wagon barreled off in, and wonders what happened to their new murderous companion, Barent.
He *thinks* he saw the dwarf get stabbed in the chest with a needle or something, but the wagon was moving too fast at that point to tell, then it was out of site.
He wonders what Knomal found on the mangled corpse of the guard, and steps over one half
of the half-orc, "Serves you right" he mutters at the legs and waist that are lying there. As he takes a look at the rogue looting the upper-half of the body, he reminds him, "Don't forget to retrieve the quill you threw into the wall there."
"So what do we do? Go see where the wagon wound up? or do we find where the gnome wandered off too? We seem to have lost our 'little people.'"
(Ooc, Erran, Pimm got the first hit on the half-orc with his sling ;))

Shadow Assassin Wed, 18th Jul '01, 8:33pm Xander sees a wagon fly by out of the corner of his eye. He stops what he is doing, puts away his tools, and walks out of the tavern to see what has happened. He sees a large dust cloud that seems to have originated in the warehouse. *sigh* Xander thinks to himself, "I bet that was the caravan meant to take us." He then walks over to the warehouse see's what has happened, and attempts to summon a wild horse using summon natures ally.
Ironbeard Wed, 18th Jul '01, 8:55pm Jakob runs round the corner from the warehouse, and headlong into the party. He starts gesticulating frantically and babbling incoherently. "The... the lousy fathers of trolls, they shot Pimm. He lives, but the blasted overgrown goblin - curses...we're all going to...Pimm and Knomal, they're still...calm down, Jakob, calm down...Ok, the clerk's been acting suspiciously at the warehouse and some orc sired goblin took a shot at Pimm. I left, threatening to warn the knights in silver. Knomal and Pimm are still in there. We might need some backup if things turn nasty!" As he gabbles in his panic he thinks he can hear a commotion at the warehouse and the sound of a frantically driven wagon. "Looks like the jig's up, lads!" he cries, pulls a crossbow from his pack, loads a bolt and runs back to the warehouse.

herf Wed, 18th Jul '01, 10:51pm ooc, me is barent :)
As the wagon came to a stop Barent observed as warriros in shining armour surrounded the wagon, "Must be the city police force," he mumured to himself, "better turn meself in afore ae lose mae head n shoulders, one ae me new companons'll find me, i just hope their soon..."
Barent jumped over the side of the wagon and raised his arms in surrender.
ayecapitan Thu, 19th Jul '01, 12:08am Knomal tucked the trophy short sword behind his belt and picked up a crossbow as well, along with some bolts and gold the orc had.
"We better go find the dwarf now, who knows what kind of trouble can he get in... Now he'd think everyone be wantin' to smash him, even the Knights..." he said, imitating the dwarven way of speech.
Crawl Thu, 19th Jul '01, 7:34am Xalen stands rather stunned as he sees the wagon surrounded by guards. "What in the Nine hells is going on here," he mutters to himself as he grasps at he bastard sword beneath his cloak. Thiking better of the situation, he jogs the last few feet to the warehouse where he spots the bard from the Inn standing outside.
"Thomas, my *hem* good friend, what is happening here. I assumed you were simply going to scout this place and perhaps see what the group seemed like. Now I see guards and armed men swarming the area*looks nervously around as he pulls his hood closer around his face* What has been going on in my absence? Is this any of our companions doing?"
Erran Thu, 19th Jul '01, 10:43am "Well. Xalen my friend, from what I can make out Jakob's previous scouting had tipped them off and they ambushed our party when we returned. I was keeping watch outside when the doors were flung open and the Wagon burst out, nearly ran me down. As they passed I saw a Dwarf fighting with a red haired woman in the back of the wagon. Let us hurry over there and see what we can do!"
Thomas replied, then they ran over to the stationary wagon.
The clerk was babbling about being attacked by robbers and murderers and Barent was disarmed and led away.
"This doesn't look good for our new 'friend' Thomas whispered, if only there was some way we could get a look at that woman's body, I'm sure we'd find something!"
OoC Knomal also found a stoppered bottle on the remains of the half orc guard.
Xps so far: 300 each for Barent, Knomal and Pimm.
ayecapitan Thu, 19th Jul '01, 6:05pm Knomal wiped the blood off his new sword while approaching Xalen and Thomas.
"We better make a good point to those knights... I wish not to be accused of this murder if they believe the clerk."
Erran Thu, 19th Jul '01, 7:10pm "Look look, there is another of the robbers!" cried the clerk, pointing at Knomal. "And there was a gnome, and someone dressed as a priest...."
A knight in Silver approached Knomal, with sword in hand.
"Would care to follow me into the barracks? I have some questions for you, sir."
herf Thu, 19th Jul '01, 7:35pm "Ey, we aint done nuttin, let us go nae!" Barent whispered into the nearest guards ear.
"Ye see that old guy over dere, him an is ***** and his bastard offspring all attacked me an my friends while we we're trying to get passage on dere wagon. The orc sliced me up real good with his little sword and then his ***** stabbed me with a wee knife o ers, ask my friends, see wot dey say..."
Shadow Assassin Thu, 19th Jul '01, 8:30pm Xander abandons his spell, and instead steps into the shadows so he can hear all that is said and decide his course of action from there. As he listens he realizes he doesn't need to be here, so he sneaks out and walks back to the tavern where he starts back at working on his staff. As well as listening to the other adventurers around him.
Ironbeard Thu, 19th Jul '01, 8:44pm Jakob runs round the corner to the warehouse, slightly out of breath and lagging behind the others. He lets his crossbow dangle form one hand, while he props himself up against a wall to catch his breath. He sees Pimm still in the warehouse and addresses him. "Pimm, you're okay...I thought, when the jig was....where's Knomal, is he?..." Jakob's eyes settle on the body of the guard. "By the...what, what the... is he?...uuuuuurrrghhh, by all the gods, of course he is *gag, choke*...excuse me, I don't feel ... I think..." Jakob sat down and tried to regain his composure. After a while he rose, still pale and shaking, trying desperately to avoid looking at the body. "So, Pimm, I told the others, some might still be coming. I'll need you to tell me what happened and what you plan to do."
ayecapitan Thu, 19th Jul '01, 8:48pm Seeing the clerk point a finger at him, Knomal realized that his fears came true. He saw Barent standing beside one of the guards, bloody and battered.
Good thing I did not get inside that wagon, even the dwarf got some, he thought, Tymora does help me when I need it, just I'm not quick to understand that...
While he was thinking, the Knight approached him - "Would care to follow me into the barracks? I have some questions for you, sir."
"Oh, of course my lord, it is my duty to offer you all the help you need in this investigation." he offered, trying to speak in the most calm and confident tone.
Lokken Thu, 19th Jul '01, 9:15pm Garacaius wakes up with a set, realizing the ale from yesterday had gone to his head and knocked him out. He looks around the Inn and find several people missing. As Xander enters the Inn, Garacaius approaches him "Sorry good sir, but can you possibly tell me where the little gnome with the decent clothes in here went?"

ArtEChoke Fri, 20th Jul '01, 1:11am (Ooc Erran I really need to know when the session will be this weekend, so I can be available)
Pimm suprised by the sudden appearance of the gnome, who had somehow turned green, hesitates for a second.
"Oh, aye..." says Pimm looking back, in the direction of the stairs, where most of the half-orc carcass lay, "its as ripe as a dwarven turd. Disgusting isn't it?"
"Knomal left just a minute ago to find the dwarf... oh, you didn't meet the dwarf. Well it went like this: After I was ventilated by that mongrel over there..." gesturing back at the guard parts, "Knomal and I took the stairs and met this strange fellow named Barent - the dwarf. He was under the employ of this establishment, but under the duress of a few coins Knomal gave him, he rethought his loyalties. Seems he was itching to use this very large sword he'd been carrying around. Oh, yes, that's his handywork behind me, after he finished with the guard, he jumped on the wagon that the clerk and some woman was fleeing on... Lost sight of him after that."
"You didn't happen to see a wagon with a dead dwarf in it? or maybe you saw a wagon with a chopped up lady in it, and a chopped up clerk, oh, and probably chopped up horses as well..."
"Wait.. you didn't see Knomal? He only left a minute ago... given that he has the spoils from the guard, we should see where he's wandered off to! and perhaps find out what happened with the dwarf... it is hard to find good people that will kill with so little provocation these days. Let's go."
On that note, Pimm walks out of the warehouse into the street to look around for missing colleagues.
Sniper Fri, 20th Jul '01, 4:45am Ooc: The names Majikus.
Majikus wakes up with a jerk. He looks around feeling groggy and notices that he is in a cell. The cell is nothing more then a small room that you would find in a cheap inn...thing is is that what you would find in a cheap inn room is a luxury compared to the furniture in the cell.
All that is in the cell are 2 beds with old straw in them and a toilet with a crude looking sink. There was also some 2 bowls on the floor. One was filled with a type of musty smelling broth and the other with water.
Majikus takes both bowls and consumes them quickly satisfying his hunger and thirst. After finishing the meal, he lays down on one of the beds and stares at the wall...
* * * * * * *
A few minutes later, Majikus hears the sound of feet coming towards the cell. The first thing he notices is a tall guard walking a stocky dwarf to the cell. The guard opens the door and the dwarf enters and automatically walks to the free bed and slumps on it muttering...
Majikus stares at the dwarf silently and nots that he is cut and bleeding. He is also able to understand the dwarven tongue the dwarf is speaking in and comprehends it as thus...
"its a gud thin i killed that half-orc and womam! but it costa me alot of pain! darn it! I gotta see what they gots outta em pockets! And when i get back with pimms an-"
Ooc: note, majikus speaks to the dwarf in the dwarven tongue
"Excuse me...*the dwarf raises his head and stares at Majikus but Majikus coninues* I can see that you have been in a sought of...fix...and maybe i can be of assistance if you wish...but wait, where are my manners? My name is Majikus...I am a Necromancer...what is your name and why are you in here?"
The dwarf stares at Majikus and opens his mouth to speak...

Barent's eyes lit up as the mages face suddenly grew a huge smile...
Crawl Fri, 20th Jul '01, 6:14am Xalen quickly racks his brains, trying to think of some way Thomas and himself could possibly get a look at the now deceased Mistresses body. The guards began to disperse as Konmal, a dwarf, and the driver of the wagon were lead toward the barracks. Only a choice couple of guards remained, as well as someone who at least apeared to be of some decent rank, for a city guard at least. Xalen, still rather displease at what a mess this situation has become, decides to try something to get the guards away, so perhaps Thomas can perhaps get a quick look at the womans body. Quicklym he nudges Thomas in the arm and darts his eyes toward the wagon and back at him.
Removing his hood, he walks to the remaining guards who are inspecting the wagon. In a hurried voice, he speaks to the aparant ranking officer of the bunch. "Sir, sir....please, I need a brief moment of your time. Those fellows, there....I've seen them before, around town of course, and quite honestly, *in a low tone* they look a bit like the seedy type if you want to know the truth. However, I did see the wagon racing this way, and I saw some of what transpired along the route. In fact, if you're group would be willing to go with me, I believe I even saw where this wagon origionated, and I'd be more than happy to recount what I saw along the way. I'm always more than happy to help you good fellows out in whatever you do. After all, if we can't have a safe and secure town where we can sleep well at night, well, what can we have." Xalen flashes the guard as helpful of a smile as he can muster, as he motions down the street toward the warehouse. "I believe we might find some concrete answers to this terrible buch of mishaps this way, as opposed to the bunch of conflicting rubbish these scoundrals were all telling."
