In the Tavern there are several adventurerers and mercenaries sitting around drinking from tankards and shouting a talking loudly. Several Barmaids are walking around with trays serving people who order. A large man stands behind the bartable. He has a large beard, small eyes, and a long protuding nose. He serves to the barmaids who approach him.
There is one man who has grey/silver hair with black roots towards the scalp. He has handsome features, that of a Human. He sits at the table his chair occupies, slouching and dozing, whilst resting from a weary day.
A Barmaid approaches him and asks if he wishes a drink, he looks up at her, and ignores her. She walks away.
He stands up and walks to the wanted hands board. He starts to look up and down the posters, as more and more adventurers file into the bar.

ooc: anyone elses cue to come in now, just describe yerself as your char enters play.

A young looking lad, who whilst looking human had an odd look about him... something you couldn't quite put your fingure on, had appeared beside him, as if from the shadows themselves and now too was browsing the board.

Still scanning the boards Drazhar didn't see the young man who had appeared beside him. His eye caught on one perticular wanted poster, and he around before tearing it down, and folding it into his pocket.
"Find anything good?" Was all that Drazhar heard from the young man standing next to him. Drazhar looked at the young man with interest. He could feel a little nagging in his mind that something was wrong with this picture but he couldn't quite figure out....
" Hi there, I'm Drazhar, an Assasin, andi couldn't say that i havn't dabbled a bit in the magic arts as well." Drazhar goes shake the mans hand "And what, my friend, is your name?"
ooc: hi how you doin.

"I have many names" the young lad pondered "but I think I like Dale the best anyway what do you have in that hand of yours, maybe we should attempt it together?
Of couse everything would have to be split down the middle"

Drazhar looks at his pocket breifly and then pulls his overcoat across his chest, as to obscure the pocket. "No, i have something bigger in mind," he points to the boards, and in particular a picture with a rather large sum of money on it, "Five thou for the capture of a Mage. Should be quite easy really. Been against quite a few mages myself." He takes the poster down from the board and holds it an angle so the two of them can see it clearly.

ooc: well i'm fine. What do you think for my first topic for a roleplay, not bad huh?

"Capture you say, well I must say I'm used to a more... final solution. But if the reward is good I don't see why not. Is there any more information on the sheet, it seems a little grubby."

" aaah at last some keen adventurers to join me on the quest" says Khazar as he walks over to them, he sits down next to Drazhar."sorry for intruding but I couldn't help hearing ya talkin bout that there mage, if ya need a finely tuned half-elf fighter- mage-thief i'm your guy" he pauses for a moment to see their reactions... obviously not hostile so he continues "i'm with Dale on the final solution, but hey whatever goes, mind if I join ya?"

A female gnome with long dark hair walks in. You can see of her looks she isn't a normal person. Her hair shines gold when light falls on it, and her eyes are purple. She is slender, but not very tall. On her shoulder sits a white raven that has purple eyes too. She walks to the group and says with a soft voice: "Hello, my name is Ashila Daergel, I am a stranger in this area, do you mind if I join you?" After her the raven speaks: "Hey, Ashila, don't you forget something? I'd liked to be introduced too! Ehh, well, my name is Volon, and as you see I'm not a general raven, I've got dragon blood streaming throught my veins." Ashila looks to het raven, and says: "Volon, be quied please"

Ooc: I'd like to join to, never played like this before (I mean on a board), so if I make mistakes, please correct me. By the way, volon is Ashila's familiar, so that's the reason he is a litle strange.

Khazar notices the fair lady approach his new found friends and introduces himself 'hello m'lady I am khazar, oh yes and hello raven, I believe you are a familiar considering that you were speaking either that or you are puppet but I doubt that' Volon stares angryly at Khazar ' it is ok my friend I merely wanted make afriendly joke' Khazar attempts to pet Volon, but volon bites him on the index finger 'hey hey my friend i mean no harm'.he turns to Ashila 'heya I am part of this here group and am waiting to dpart im happy for you to join us please tell me a bit about yourself.....'

Ashila starts speaking ’Well you are right about Volon, I’ve summoned him when…’ but is interrupted by Volon ‘Hey, you are talking like I’m a little simple, and can’t answer for myself. Well, believe me, I can, and I will.’ Than he turns towards Ashila ‘And Ashila, about that summoning part, you know that’s my weak spot. The fact I am summoned and not, just like most creatures, born doesn’t mean I’m less than them. I’m not your pet or something, no I’m worth more than that, I’m special’ Ashila gives Khazar a apologising smile and than turns towards Volon and speaks to him with a understanding voice ‘Easy Volon, you know I think you are special, and sorry about that summoning..’ Than she turns back to the group ‘What I was trying to say, is that Volon came to me when I was preparing to leave my parent’s house, less than a year ago, and has become my truest friend since.’ She gives a wink to Volon, and Volon looks happy again ‘I’ve got no brothers nor sisters, but my parents are really nice folks, they were sorry I insisted to leave the house, and were afraid I was to young to take care of myself. That’s why they insisted me to .. umm… to take Volon on my travel. I agreed, though I like my parents, I really wanted to see more of the world. Everyone in my town thought I was funny, but I didn’t have any real friends, because they also thought I was weird. I’ve just been travelling since I left my home, not knowing where to go to, learnt a lot on my travel however, so many new places to explore. And now I’ve found you, a whole group that wants to go on adventure, how exciting. By the way, nice name you’ve got Khazar, how did you get it? And what are your names?” looking at the rest of the group. Than Volon mumbles ‘And she is calling me a talkaholic. By the way, what do we get when we join you? He gulps his ale down and walks back over to the bar signalling to Ashila to follow, she obliges 'whaddya want then' asks the barman 'pinta ale for me, and ashila what for you i'm payin so don't worry' they recieve the drinks 'tell me more about what sort of person you are'

ooc:If you created Volon then he has to have the same alignment as you i think otherwise he is the same as his creator and you are yourself. Do you want to e-mail me a little bout yourself you seem intriguing i can guarrentee a reply!

A tall Blonde haired man walks across the open space between the tables towards the bar. Every one of his steps is amplified around the large room and he gets a few inconspicuous looks from two drunkards at the bar. He is wearing a large, worn cloak that covers from his shoulders down to his feet. As the two ends of the cloak separate a glint of metal armour is shown with a large leather belt, the hilt of a longsword can just be seen as the cloak surrounds him again.
As he reaches the bar he calls the barman over and asks for the strongest cheap drink that is in stock, he then procedes to look around the room. He looks down the bar, he sees a man and woman talking to each other as their order is met by the barman. He notices something familiar about the man though he can't quite place it. Then as the figure turns he notices a distinctive scar running from the brow of his eye to his cheakbone.
He got up and walked down the length of the bar to the two. They turned to observe him, then before either of them could say anything he said 'Kazar?'.

ooc: This is my first post and i haven't had much experience yet. I read over you quest and immediatly wanted to join. please bare with me!

'Hello old friend. i have just returned from an adventure with others to destroy what we could of an undead host.' he then sighed and seemed to have to find the courage to overcome his sorrow. 'many of the party died in trying to overcome a sudden attack while we were travelling through a pass. Only three of us escaped.....' he trailed off obviously dihearted by this. trying to change the suject he said 'so i'm here to find a new adventure, have you news of any?'

ooc: cheers, i thought the bigger the entrance the better.

'sorry for bringing up bad memories i didn't realize' quick to change the subject 'do ya wanna beer friend?' 'thanks that would be nice' he replied.
All three of them go and sit down on a table next to dale's.

he could feel that Volon was a mystical bird just from its look, but he was not entirely sure on talking to it though.
'so Khazar what have you been doing since we last parted company, have you seen our little Dwarf friend....ummm...kiol wasn't it? Now he was a perculier little fellow!'
he look past them and almost seemed to go into a daydream.
'You have a strange feel about you traveler, an aura of some kind but i don't know what.' Feirhanith looked at the bird briefly then got up out of his chair and left the table.'excuse me, does anyone want another drink.' there was a shake of heads from the other two, he turned and walked to the bar.

Khazar gets up out of his seat and walks over to dales table 'are we going to leave or am i going to have to drink myself into a stupor before anything happens around here?'

Feirhanith notices Khazar at a table talking to mature aged man. He goes and joins them at Khazar's side, speaking to Khazar but letting the other men at the table hear he says 'We must go if we are to travel before nightfall. i feel an evil sturring and it is very powerful. i fear to say that the evil that i sought with my previous companions still lives and he is planning to stir, he is a master of the dark arts and this would bring havoc to the world.'
Waiting for a response he looks over the whole table as to see who would join him.

ooc: come on let's get going on an adventure, i've even set up the start of the story for you.

'destroy the world huh that sounds powerfull, yes i agree we must depart hastilly' khazar looks towards the door then to his companiond for a response

*Haen-Dal walks into the tavern and takes a look around*

"Huh? What the...? Ooops, wrong tavern, sorry" says the gold elf as he exits.

OoC: Sorry guys... with two taverns, I just couldn't resist the urge :)

Just as the door closes, a woman of very tall stature walks in. She has long blond Hair to her waist, and an almost perfect face. She glided around with such grace as to only of been an elf.

Several of the Men at the bar called at her, but she ignored them. As she moved to the back of the tables and takes a seat one of the drunkards took aim and threw an empty glass at her. She spun with almost superhuman speed and murmmered an incomprehensible word.

A ray of brilliant white light shot from her fingertips, and vapourised the glass in mid air.
'MAGI' one of the men screamed and dived under the table, as all know how unstable Elves with magic are. But with a sigh she turned and sat at the table quietly.

She took a glass from her cloak, and poured a half measure of thin elven wine, which she then proceded to sip at quietly.

Then without warning she turned to Khazar who was quite surprised at this whole display, and said quietly, 'what is your quest Half-Elf?'

Feirhanith stepped forward in front of khazar and began 'My fair lady we are to seek out and destroy the dark powers that are becoming a threat to this world, we who seek to destroy them would ask anyone who is interested to accompany us. But be warned that their is mass danger involved and the only reward would be to stop this menis.'
He then strides towards the elven lady and with an outsretched hand says 'will you join us?'

ooc: we need a DM if anyone knows of someone willing to be our DM and also be a fair one, we will appreciate it.

Fine and gallant Sir she said quietly, I reconginise a Paladin, do i not?

She took Feirhanith's hand and drew him close, 'i know danger', she murmured, 'i was part of an elite Black powers evil magic group', but i have realised the errors of my ways, and have joined the 'rising Sun Alliance'. 'This is a magic guild, banding together to stop the dark powers spreading throughout this land, however we cannot do this alone, so i have been sent on a quest to destroy the heart of this power, a black wizard too powerful to imagine, but i cannot do it alone'. Therefore i will ask you and your compainians to accompany me. It is unlikely, but the wizard may have a hoard of treasure for you to loot, if you so wish, apart from this i can offer you no payment'.

She let her lips touch Feirhanith's cheek, and he felt a cold chill run through him, then she turned and sat down again.
She spoke softly over her shoulder, 'I will give you time to think', and then went back to her wine.

OOC: i couldnt see this story going anywhere without a decent quest!!

After a while in thought he replied 'I am a paladin and once it was my duty to seek out evil, my employer was a king of a distant land that was troubled by many attcks of an undead force.' He looked round as to try and find someone that was there a moment ago. ' my lady i belivieve that we are dealing with the very same evil. When shall we leave?'

ooc: i was trying to get this going anyway, no point in waiting for ppl to join that can't be bothered.

khazar has the same sense of someone watching them and looks to the same place as feirhanith but to no avail and returns his eyes to the fair lady 'as i was about to say before feirhanith rudely intruded, i believe i have seen you before in the land of the elves on my travels' he pauses ' or maybe not all of you TRUE elves are just as beutiful as each other' he sees she is impressed 'i overheard you talking and i would be more than honoured to join you' she seem reasured in her perceptions of his character 'im infact waiting to join dale but they seem extremely preoccupied and so i will join you in this quest'. 'being of elven kind and a magi at that you may also be able to enchant my bow as i have heard that the enchantment of the elves is the greatest reward a living being can have' he sits down to the previous table 'call me when you want to leave'

nice to meet you. we need to get this on the road.

Ashila, bored of sitting on an empty table with only Volon for company, stands up and walks towards the group. 'Nice to meet you'she says to the newcomers 'My name is Ashila, and this'pointing towards her raven 'is Volon'
Then she just starts talking, not bottering nobody asked her anything.
'I have been called extraordinary from my birth till now. When I couldn’t even talk jet, they called me weird ‘cause of my appearance, and when I started to make things happen everyone’s suspicions were confirmed: I had the same blood as one of my far uncles, dragon-blood. I didn’t only have the purple eyes of my uncle, but I too was a sorcerer. He is far-off family, but dragon-blood is strong, and I’m the prove it isn’t lost in our family. You know: magic is big fun’ she giggles. When Khazar looks to his ale he sees a rose popping out of it. When he tries to catch it, it disappears leaving a lot of coloured stars that fall down and fade, till they too are gone. ‘Sorry, couldn’t help it, just had to do that. Your ale is still completely drinkable, didn’t change it. Just some illusions.’ ‘You were talking about your uncle’ Mentions Volon. ‘O yes, you are right. Like I just said, my uncle also was a sorcerer, and not just a normal one, no he was a damned good one too. It’s right, I speak in the past, but that’s because he.., he is no more. I’d never seen him in real life, only on pictures, one of my aunts had a book full of pictures, almost all relatives were in it, but one time he came to our house. He wanted to talk to me, he was ill, and knew he was going to die soon, but he wanted to give me some help before he would die. He had heard of my plan to leave, and agreed with it, although I hadn’t reached adulthood jet. He said it was a good thing to experience independence, and he believed I would become an even greater sorcerer than he was.’ Ashila smiles, blushes, and continues talking. You can read from her eyes she is very proud of her uncle and what he said ‘He helped me with the summoning of Volon, it is said that that’s the reason Volon and I sometimes have a slightly different opinion about something, but I think he is perfect.’ Volon looks even more satisfied and starts cleaning himself, Ashila laughs and says ‘he’s a little proud though, nothing to worry about really’ Volon stops with the cleaning, mumbles something like ‘really funny’ and than speaks to the group. ‘I warn you, that girl talks to much. You were just talking about leaving, didn't you? Well, like Ashila promised already,we are going with you too. But I've got one big question for what are we looking exactly, because in her eager to adventure Ashila forgot to ask what we were heading for. By the way, please forgive her childlike behaviour, she has only just reached adulthood, and still acts a little childish.’

ooc: Yes, let's something happen!

The door opens slowly and a reasonably tall dwarf walks in :about 4'9": ice blue eyes gaze slowly around the fairly full tavern room. He chuckles to himself softly and walks towards the back wall to look at the posters, right about the time Volon says that the two of them are acomanying someone else on a quest. His ears perk forward and he walks over. His footsteps are fairly loud 'thuds' but he appears to only be wearing chain-mail armor, and has a wicked looking two-handed battle-ax across his back. "Did ah 'ear sum-une say sum-thin' abut a quest?" his voice is somewhat gruff and has an odd accent to it. "Ahd lik' to know if t'were possibl' fer une such as ah to join ye."

ooc: this is my first online rp..or atempted rp...if a quest gets going i mean. and pardon, if you cant understand what my char says..ill try to make it more legible..hope we can all have some fun.

'ah, a dwarf fighter. you will do well in our quest. We are going to face creatures of the undead, and maybe even some goblins. Surely you will join us?'in reply the dwarf said "Ye, ahd lik' to get me 'ands on sum gobo's!"
he turned towards the door, took a few steps forward then stopped 'we must leave. Leianna and i will explain further the quest while we are traveling.'

The six trvellers set out that very night. food supplies were arranged by the barkeep, enough each for a month but it seemed lighter on their backs then it normally would. the prospect of such a quest had been sought by so many and yet so many had failed. People turned to watch as the party walked through the streets, normally a band of adventurers would go almost unnoticed but this was no normal band, such a varied group had not been seen together for decades. It was something new and exciting to most of the townspeople as the group left the outskirts of the settlement.

ooc: here we go! we will just have to do without a DM until we find one, lets inpravise.

The small band reached the outskirts of the village quickly, and with not a word between them slipped out into the night.

But all was not well and both Leianna and Feirhanith had realised it. 'We are being watched' muttered Feirhanith to no-one impaticular. 'Yes, you're right, but i had the same feeling in the inn', Leianna replied quietly. 'I have the feeling we have someone trying to hinder our quest already'.

Khazar who had been listening intently decided that now was the time to act, and struck up a light.

They were walking towards a small copse of trees. Suddenly and without warning there was a cry from the rear of the group.

Everybody spun round or froze on the spot. Ashila was lying across the path, and a large creature was disapearing into the undergrowth. Khazar fitted an arrow to his bow, but too late, the creature had gone.

OOC:Well we can try without a DM, but i dont think weel last very long on our own

the party move quietly over to Ashila, from some unseen bond both khazar and leianna both notice a stab wound in the middle of her back. 'is she dyin, wa shu we do?' replies the dwarf. 'yes quite' replies feirhanith' 'i know, quickly feirhanith lay on hands'

ooc:welldone guys 4 gettin this on the road

Feirhanith straightened his back as he got up from trying to heal her 'she will be fine but she needs rest, we must follow that creature. Someone must stay with her'
Khazar obviously in thought said 'it is not a good idea to split our company but i believe we must at this time. Straven, leianna and i will go after it, you must stay and attend to ashila.' then to the bird who was standing next to his master Feirhanith said 'while they are gone tell me how this happened'.

with that three of the company dashed through the undergrowth and were gone into the night while Feirhanith was left to make camp and tend to ashila.

ooc:you guys better hurry up and kill whatever that monster is!

Ashila mutters 'What..what was that, my back it feels like it's burning' 'You'll be fine, just relax' Feirhanith answers Then Volon starts to speak 'What if it comes back, I mean, we don't know where it is, and since we are the weakest group there is a big change it will prefer to attack us instead of the others.'

Pulls his axe off his back trys to keep up with the faster two muttering darkly as his infravision cuts in and out from the moonlight overriding it. "'Tis not a go'd way ta start of' a q'est. Attekd rigt frum the beginin'." Kazar agrees with him somewhat and leianna doesnt respond. "Ah dun thin' ah'm helpin' the sneakin' afta this thi'ng," reffering to his footfalls that seem to be excesivly loud..as if he were wearing something extremely heavy. But he seems to be keeping up well..as long as they keep going at the same pace.

ooc: kudos to you for near imatating his speach, he clips his words abit more..but very good. and his armor is dwarven palate mail of blending..i wasnt using him on another adventure so i decided to use him here. so far its off to an interesting start..better then his last adventure.

The three friends seem at some what a quicker pace to be going in the same direction of the creature. 'wo tha bloomin...' spurts straven as he gets a terrible moonlight reflection in his infravision, off a dull but in some way shiny object that is quickly moving through the undergrowth. Leianna spots it second followed by Khazar as he slots an arrow into his bow. 'ya see tha too' 'yes we did Straven replies Khazar', Leianna focusing straight at the subject in question and moving her hands into a strange formation 'Khazar if I attempt to use magic missile do you believe your aim is true enough to hit the beast'. 'I shall try my best'.

ooc:this is very cool. someone will have to roll for the situation as we don't have a DM.Be truthfull my friends.Have you any ideas what the creature can be?

like a typical(classic, anyway) dwarf, starven charges foreward chanting a prayer to his god, Moradin. His armor changes as he charges, turning to its true form of dwarven plate mail, and his axe seems to glow with a soft luminance. His short stature enables him to charge in without worrrying much about getting shot or inadvertently hit with magic.

ooc: sorry..didnt have much time to post much, embelish somewhat if needed.

ok if I'm going to dm this we're going to have to drop down some levels ( we'll decide on what level between 1 and 3)and drop the amount of gold and equipment down to the comparable amount. I'd like to do a 30pt buy also. I'll try to design something around what you have but it may take a lil to make it fit right. until then play on through this lil part, and I'll figure something out from there.

ps. send me your char sheets, once a lvl is decided on (I prefer lvl 1 to start, but I'll leave the choice up to you.)

My PC totaly and utterly crashed" He mutters something about hardrives and tokyo, " so i had to reboot my PC along with the net, and then i had lots of coursework set me, and well, my free time just went down the drain. So i thought about posting some things into here, but thought against it coz there would hardly of been any replies to it, lets face it, i'm not very well known on the boards. To get the points I rolled on the Baldur's Gate Character Generator and Feirhanith was my witness, and I to his.
Having 30 points will mean that my character won't be allowed doesn't it.
Is there a way that I can incorporate my old character.Oh and what d&d version will we use 2nd or 3rd?
Could somebody send the wizards character generator cos my connection cuts out after an hour so i won't be able to download it.

Im afraid i have to agree with Khazar on this one.. as my Char is a 7th lever dwarven fighter with stats as follows:

Str- 20 (god blessed/cursed..goblin god cursed him)
Dex- 16
Con- 18
Int- 15
Wis- 14
Cha- 13

and for me to go to a 30pt system wouldnt work..and i dont want to develop a new char. i have 5 or 6 already and i dont need anymore..and if im correct in thinking..the 30pt system is a 3e stat configuration..and this is a 2e char..and ive only played 2e, and also have no idea how(nor really want to know how) to play 3e. i also have items that i dont know how would transfer to 3e..so knowing what edition were playing would be nice.

Got to the link and dl the character genterator, yes you will have to reroll your character, doing 30pt buy makes it more fair, everyone will be even this way. I'm using 3e rules, their not hard, its actually a lot better than 2e as you can be things you couldn't in 2e like a dwark paladin, or a halfling paladin and so on. It's also what nwn will be using so you need to get familiar with it if you plan on playing.

you are supposed to send me (e-mail)the .cg3 file it creates, you don't post your char sheet. The other pcs don't need to know what you have. Yes the crafts come in handy. Sorry, I was out of town for thanksgiving. We'll see about the other char, but it will be much later, and no riding animals. Takes away from the experience.

well i hope you know that i get a horse automatically at level 5. I'll swap the ride and handle animal skill for diplomacy and religion skills then!

I believe that a level 1 start for all of us would be correct as some of us are 2nd ed players and are not familiar with the 3rd ed rules but would like to learn them from the start.

On a final note I still need to know when we will be playing and as we are going to use the gaming chatrooms could we get e-mailed a party specific password for it?

well its been a while now, boards down and all. I will need the char sheets and lvl 1 seems the right way to start off. we will use the same room that virtually everyone else does to roleplay #sorcerers_nwn. Prestige classes will be allowed to an extent. once I recieve all the chars (1st lvl, 200gp of gear, 30pt buy) .cg3 files we will begin on the forums. As for the online sessions we will decide on them by finding out what times people will be available, the times will be flexible.

you can multi but neither of your classes will be a lvl 1 they'll be whats known as an apprentice class or lvl 1/2, upon your lvl up they will both be lvl 1. or you could start as 1 class and add the other later. I recommend the latter because the char gen won't do the first, and its harder to dm apprentice lvl's

The only problem is that I only play a Fighter/Mage/Thief in D&D so i'm affraid you will need to work it out for me 'cos I am unfamiliar at the moment with the Char gen so I am not sure how to implement my character.
Could you please let us know as soon as you are ready we said earlier on in this post when we will be able to play but i'm sure we can work something out if it isn't to your satisfaction.

You said I couldn't use it because I was a Fighter Mage Thief and that would mean that I would have to be level one in all of them but it would be unfair for the rest, or something like that.

ok this is what you can do. You can start as a lvl 1 fighter or whatever you want to start as the multiclass into the others upon leveling up, so at 2nd lvl you would be a Fighter mage, and at 3rd you'd be a Fighter mage thief, all lvl 1. Thats the only way to get all 3

Surely we can start now you have Dramli, Khazar, Cromwell and Feirhanith.

Ashilla 30 pt buy is on the character generator under the roll option, you then need to choose 30pt buy. It sets all of the points to 8 and then you just choose what ones you want to buy. The higher you go the more of the 30 points you will spend to get an attribute point.

Well I need a show of hands of EVERYBODY wishing to play and whether or not you've submitted your char sheet(.cg3). We start tuesday if I don't have your char sheet you won't be starting in the group. you will be able to be picked up somewhere along the way in a place of my choosing. If you don't have it in on tuesday when I check you'll know it because I won't send you an e-mail. The list starts today and is the order in which the party will be formed. I will have a character in the group, but he will be mainly for guidance purposes and played as an npc. He will not be the one to interact with other npc's except at points that are intricate to the plot for the direction you choose. Asking questions of him will not give you any insite into the way I am DMing the game. He shall be as clueless as you are, maybe even more so except in those certain areas.

starting off the first person to post what I asked will be hired by Alton to help him with something. Alton will be extremely frail and in need of your protection on his quest. Alton will not level up the same as you do, nor will you know when he does. His class is not disclosed to you and asking him questions about himself won't get you anywhere. He does. however, have better gear and more money than you do, but he be spending it on you. Everything you need to know will be told to you at the start when he hires you.

ok quick description of the world you will be playing in.

1)based on the evils of people meaning less monsters, but more battles with npc's such as mages and clerics.
2)money talks you are a stranger to the region therefore must purchase maps, many of which will not be complete, therefore you may have to do without or by a number of maps just to see the full scale of things.
3)just because the enemy is there doesn't mean you'll battle them. you may not know he's the enemy, or you may not see him at all.
4)In this particular plot you are being paid for a service that includes protection. If your employer dies you fail.
5)lvl's are determined by % of experience gained for the party if you haven't contributed to the experience pool you shall recieve no experience, anything above 1% will guarantee you atleast 5% of the experience.

Well we just lost about 10 days worth of posts because it wasn't backed up, but oh well. to get a map you must either buy one from someone in the game, or find another way to aquire one.
