Well, there's this store who's putting up a short story contest. The winner gets a nice computer, and the age is from 5-13. My dad told me about it, and it looks pretty good, and I just happen to have the support of my family to do a short story. I'd hate to turn them down, and since I am the least bit confident in my writing, I need a title. I spin my ideas around titles, but since I'm terrible at making titles, it's hard for me to get ideas.

So I'm asking my SP friends if they could come up with any interesting titles for a SHORT STORY.

That's the problem. I spin my stories around titles, and without a title, I'm basically hopeless. I just need a random title, because I'm really bad at making titles.

Padine, no offense meant, short stories are not books. I am sending this to a contest, not a publisher.

And thanks for everyone's title offers. For short stories I go for real life-ish events, since fantasy I get all screwed up with subplots.

It has more energy and thrill in it. Perhaps even easier to build a story upon. Well yes I am nitpicking. :)

For future reference, if you write a story first, usually somewhere in the writing of that story you will realize an appropriate title. Basing a story off a title may seem the easiest way to do it, but is probably more of a headace because you limit your story to what you've titled it.

Big B, that's why I was not asking for titles in the past. When writing a short story, there is only one plot. One title to describe the plot. That's why I'm asking. :)

I forgot to mention that if I submit my story, I lose copyright and they can publish it if they want! I mean, what's the point of writing if you lose your copyright on what you write?!

If i were the president, i would make this world a better place by making everybody love each other and there would be no arguments ever again. Food would be plentifyl and water will be fresh. The cities, towns and villages will be clean and we will have no further use for weaponary unless man-kind's existence is threatened should aliens come. Hopefully they will be friendly and we can all live together in harmony. We could trade and maybe even create a new race with each other! Maybe thats how we can ensure our survival.

Now that was a 95 word story ... IT SUCKS! Unless anyone else thinks so? :p I made it from the top of my head trying to write in a younger style then i would normally write...
