Phlan server has had its first roadtest, with ADM Evaine logging in and moving around. Smooth and lag free, with one inhabitant!

Very cool. Congratulations on the maiden voyage, so to speak.

Sounds great:)

I tried a test server somewhere else and the only lag I saw was that sometimes my character jumped back a couple of meters. One thing that was noticed was that if a party has e.g. a 1st level and a 3rd level character then the 1st level character will get less xp than the 3rd level. From a D&D rules point of view it doesn't make sense. I guess the reason is to avoid "pumping" up new characters by letting them tag along.

So will there be a sign post (http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/scripts/data/Bulletin%20Board%20SystemSerban%20OprescuConversat ion.shtml) ? ;)

Cool! Kudos guys!

Maybe you folks can post here the time and name of the Server so we can join you in testing it?

:hippy:

Good to hear all is going well. Yes, let us know if you need to do some stress testing with multiple players online at once. How many areas in Phlan as far? I can't wait to play with other live PCs.

6 city areas and one outside so far. We had 5 online on sat stress testing, load and lag times still pretty short. I won't be putting the IP and password here as it is too 'public'. Send me your ICQ if you are interested in being a part of the test group. If I see enough 'flowers' when I need to test I'll ping you.

Update: Saw BTA's ICQ flower up on Sat 20th so we went for a test sail from Phlan to Sokal Keep on the 'Black Pig' using Evaine's ship script. I thought it was a 'smooth voyage' but I'll let BTA comment on that. ;)
