We all want this to be a totaly immersive Role-play experience, right? So here are some ways you the players can help:

Turn off shout, turn on talk. We don't want the words you speak in Phlan City to be heard in the Dragonspines.

Walk don't run, unless persued by something! You don't run eveywhere in RL do you? Use shift when you mouse click.

Stay i.c. Don't discuss last nights Lakers game. Don't say, "wow, only another 200xps for lvl 3"
or "hey, dude, letz whak some gobs"

Try and find an in-game reason for absence, e.g "Nature calls and I must obey" If you must make an out of character remark, preceed it by OoC.

You can be presumed to know long standing Aorta friends. Strangers should be treated with respect and caution. If a stranger came up to you and said "Hello, I'm Bonecruncher, would you like to join me on an adventure?" in RL, what would you say? Get to know them a bit first.

Above all, it's a GAME so let's have FUN!

Erran,

Thanks for the tips. I know everyone in AORTA is excited about this weekends beta test. For those of us who have not been on Phlan before what is the drill? Is there any special login procedure, address to connect to or password? If there are any security issues please post your reply on the AORTA forum. Thanks.

Still waiting on the word from Mandos on those issues. Latest estimate on going live is ~10am GMT, but the truth is, like Bio, we'll be ready when were ready!

So ... I'm not allowed to walk up to the mind-flayer bard and say, "Erran, I mean Thomas, I mean Mr. ADM sir, can I please have some experience points for just logging on tonight? I had to sucessfully cast "Sleep" on the baby, and "Charm Monster" on the wife, then took 3 potions of Endurance from the local Starbucks to insure that I would be on the top of my game!" ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist!

From The Lady Mayoress of Phlan:

"It has come to our attention that certain so-called adventurers have been running around the streets of Phlan in their underwear, frightening noblewomen and commoners alike. They claim to be looking for a clothing shop. There is no need for this lewd behaviour, there is affordable clothing to be had in the shop in the rear of the adventurers guild."

By my hand
