When I got TOB, I wondered if Wild Mages were in IWD2 and if there will still be a chance for a Wild Surge, so will there?

View Full Version : Are there Wild Mages? Wild Magic areas/effects - perhaps. [This message has been edited by Extremist (edited July 22, 2002).] Gnolyn Lochbreaker Mon, 22nd Jul '02, 8:36pm There are however 'sorcerers', as per the 3E D&D rules. Much better than those wild mages, IMO. No wild surges, spells are based on Charisma score (not Intelligence), don't need to prepare spells before hand, and have a better selection of weapons/armour than straight-up wizards. Rastor Tue, 23rd Jul '02, 4:21pm Actually, sorcerers no longer outclass wizards in third edition rules. They can not cast the same level spells as an equivilant level wizard. They can cast more per day, yes, but they usually don't get a spell level until one level higher than a wizard. Does that mean amount of spells or how often they can cast them? deBhaal Mon, 29th Jul '02, 4:22pm Faerus, Sorcerers use Cha, to determine how often they can cast spells per day. They get a fixed number of spells per spell level, that never changes. |
