I'm thinking of taking a strange party through BG2. I have some ideas but I would love to hear from you guys. I am talking about a multi-player party but you can throw in NPCs if you think it works.

Here's my idea:

Wizard Slayer
Cleric
Shapeshifter
Assasin
Sorceror
Bard

I haven't nailed down races or all the kits I might use yet. What do you think?

Hmm...interesting party. Maybe very fun to play. I respect those who can do different and challenging parties. If you are going to play with this party, i respect you.

I'm planning to have:

Viconia
Edwin
Cernd
Jan Jansen
Haer'Dalis

and probably a Monk as a main character, though I am not yet decided - I am open to suggestions. It would be hard on Insane difficulty and also fun as hell.

I don't know. That isn't very "weird" party. Replace Cernd to Korgan and ya got evil party.

HEY guys! What do you mean by creating a weird party?

In what point do they have to be weird?

For a challenge I think the all bard party would be tough.

Hey Lareth,

The "weird" thing is not having ANY fighters (straight, dual or multi) on INSANE mode.

Just add all the hitpoints of my party, divide by six and try it yourself. :D

I just can't come up with a unique non-fighter character that is not in my party already - I have a bard, a druid, a gnome, a cleric, a mage. Who else - please help me decide.

I believe an all bard party is a "BAND"

I would be nice if there was a bard kit which the sing function caused the enemies to run away in fear - The bards starts playing Britny :D

Well there is the Jester, causes you to either run away, stand still in horror, or beat on the nearest creature screaming "Make it stop, make it stop!" ;)

*me claps my hands over my ears and shrieks* NOOO!!!

Well, actually, that party's feasible.... Bards are pretty versatile anyway. But people have SOLOED with bards, so it shouldn't be too hard to beat the game with six of them.

BTW, anyone wanting to change the sound played when you click on the bard song icon, go here: http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum7/HTML/001056.html

Just make sure that you keep an eye on who your having for your party, an uhappy party will soon turn into no party if you have lots of enemies on you side (e.g.Edwin &Minsc)

I was pleased to return to the boards after some months off to find one of my posts on page two and another mentioned in a post on page one.

Not bad for being gone a few months huh?

I am thinking of playing a 5 dwarven Skald/1 dwarven Cleric party after Duharrel finishes with me... (or 4 dwarven Skalds, 1 dwarven Cleric and an open NPC slot)...

Imagine picking up Haer Dalis and singing rauckus dwarven songs of mighty battles where elves have been slaughtered in huge numbers in the middle of Suldenesslar (sp?)! Should make for an interesting conclusion to SOA.... A great lead in to Hell I think...
