I'm curious as to whether or not a spell can be cast from a scroll without a chance that it'll fail due to armor or shields being equipped.
I've got an idea for a Cleric character who would possibly take a Wizard level or two just to be able to read a few scrolls.

Don't know about the game itself, but the rules itself aplies armor spellcasting failure as normal for scrolls. In case you wonder, yes that means both shield and armor. And Casting from a scroll is in all aspects considered the same as casting from own spellcasting ability (save using up scroll isntead of memo slot of corse).

I don't know, never tried.
I don't think that build will be strong though, valuable scrolls are few and you generally don't have the luxury to cast spells from them, if you have other mages in the party especially. Plus spells casted from a scroll have very low saving throw DCs AFAIK.

I created a Barbarian with one Wizard level once. I don't remember having problems with scrolls (it may not be that powerful but it can be handy).
