Hi, I've been trying to find out what the spell progression rate is for a bard in IWD II, as it is the only game I've seen with bards getting spells up to lvl. 8. Can anyone tell me when that (getting the high-level spells) happens, btw?

If you have bonus spells for high charisma
10th level - 4th level spells
13th level - 5th level spells
16th level - 6th level spells
If you don't have a charisma bonus for a said level, just add a level.
Sorry, but I don't know about 7 or 8. In fact I'm looking for the Paladin spell progression for levels 5 and 6 myself, as they are not detailed in the manual. But a guess for the Bard would be levels 19 and 22 (or 20 and 23 without bonus spells).
If anyone knows about the Paladin spells, might as well post it with the Bards if possible. Thanks!

All that information is in the manual guys. The .pdf in CD 2.
Its also given in the Icewind Dale 2 Book of Spells & Tables found at the top of this page: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/index_tips.php
Bards get to cast a spell of the next level at levels 2, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 21, 26.
Thus your Bard wont get to cast L8 spells till he gets to level 26.
Paladins and Rangers get higher level spells at 6, 10, 12, 15, 22, 29.
So if you want spellcasting abilities you would better stick to Clerics and Druids.

Interesting I looked at a competitors site (so I won’t name it) and they only had up to 20. As they usually are right, I assumed they weren’t in the manual. Anyway, thanks!
