I'm thinking of running the following party:

Gold Dwarf
Cleric of Tempus / Fighter
Str 14 Dex 8 Con 14 Int 10 Wis 17 Cha 13

(does it matter if I start cleric or fighter for the bonus feats; how many levels of fighter do I want)

Aasimar Paladin of Mystra
Str 14 Dex 12 Con 12 Int 14 Wis 14 Cha 14

(I was going to do a paladin / sorceror but the rules do not seem to allow this. How do you do it, run up 4 or so levels of paladin and then multi to soreceror and never level up Paladin again. How many levels of paladin are good?)

(I figured I'd multi to wizard. Shld I drop to Str. to 12 and add 2 more to int. or dex?)

Human Monk of the Old Order
Str 14 dex 12 con 14 int 10 wis 16 cha 10

straight monk for tank

tiefling rogue / ranger
str 10 dex 20 con 14 int 16 wis 10 cha 8

running a tiefling rogue / ranger now and digging it.

(does this party have enough power. I want to run four to get up to higher levels but I feel underpowered in both spellcasting and melee. If I add another character should it be a tank or spellcaster. Should I add at the beginning or wait to til the experience awards drop?)

Thanks for your feedback

I have a 4-person party. I'm taking them into HOF mode.
Paladin Helm (human) 13/ fighter 4.
Tiefling Rogue 12/ fighter 4
Drow Sorcerer 20/ Tempus cleric 4
Fighter (human) 18
The Tiefling rogue is really cool, no cheats and his dexterity is 29. I think all my cons are at 16 for less damage per hit. There is full armor will allow +2 dex, so I have that for my tanks -- actually they are all tanks and can slug it out well, but I have just arrived at the fortress. You need a good rogue for traps and spying. The sorcerer is great with that multiply suppy of magic -- her ch is at 22 and I have loads of spells (first time with a sorcerer) -- also because she is a Cleric of Tempus, she is tough too and her concentration is great.
The Paladin of Helm allows the advance while being a fighter. I think you need the weapon specialization.

I went ranger on the rogue for ambidexerity and 2 weapon fighting. Just a style thing. Maybe I will try it fighter this time for the specialization.

Paladin of Mystra/Wizard is just to reliant on stats to be very good. I would abandon it for a sorcerer. The rest of the party should be more than fine for melee, even the cleric. You won't need more than 4 levels of fighter, but if you don't need them all at once, split taking them a bit. I once made a Paladin/Wizard and was very dissapointed, they are just inherently so different. Go sorcerer for the firepower, and take a few summons or animate dead for later HoF use. Invisibility sphere too!
