View Full Version : Very Powerful Iron Golem dragon903 Wed, 27th Jun '01, 5:09pm I went into the Keep where Trolls were Invadeing.I saw 6 Golems i killed 5 of them{Stupad Clay Golem}But the Iron Golem is Very Powerful how do i defeat it. Wildfire Wed, 27th Jun '01, 5:21pm You need +3 (or is it +4?) enchanted weapons to be able to do damage to it. You can also use spells such as melf's minute meteors to do damage. Lokken Wed, 27th Jun '01, 5:23pm you need a +3 enchanted weapon to hit it. I think iron golems are rather resistant to physical damage as well Ironbeard Wed, 27th Jun '01, 7:59pm Iron golems are brilliant. They're so fat they keep getting stuck everywhere, and more often than not a horde of lesser golems gets stuck behind them. Headbanger Wed, 27th Jun '01, 8:09pm Yep in the beginning of the game, when you're about lvl 8 it's to hard to kill them, then you can better haste yourself, run away after you got the stuff and then close the door. You can maybe come back with the Flail of The Ages, with that you should be able to damage the Iron Golem. dragon903 Wed, 27th Jun '01, 9:35pm Is their anymore Iron Golems in the game and by the way where can i find Greater Wyverns zero Wed, 27th Jun '01, 10:02pm There will be a lot of iron golems and adamite(?) golem but they are easy to kill. Greater Wyvrns: i don't know and if it is its easy to kill. Lokken Wed, 27th Jun '01, 10:14pm there is one in the game, in the area with a party and 2 genies (not tethyr forest or the one with the old village) but the third one of the forest areas in the end. and yes, it is easy to kill cathon Thu, 28th Jun '01, 12:47am Things that can hurt an iron golem. +3 or better weapons, Melf's Minute Meteors, Polymorph Self into Gnoll (with magic halberd), Traps, spells that get past their high magic resistance, immunities and saves. If you have weapons, it is best to concentrate on spells that effect the people fighting the golem rather than affecting the golem itself. Best to kill the other golems one by one before facing the Iron golem. dragon903 Thu, 28th Jun '01, 12:49am THANKS so musch everyone Thank you so much Lord Moeken Thu, 28th Jun '01, 6:30am You might also notice that you can grab the last flail head without disturbing the golems. Grap the head, forge the flail and then come back to kick some golem butt with it! Ragusa Thu, 28th Jun '01, 10:40am Tansheron´s bows ghost arrows can hurt iron golems iirc, a really nice feature. Sling of Everard should also work fine. As for clay Golems - leave them for last and attack with all your fighters in melee using blunt weapons if possible - doing so you can deal out massive damage and hope to kill him quickly. I usually attack them one by one before I take the stuff from the statues. Thorr Thu, 28th Jun '01, 11:14am You may also throw some water over him, go away, and in a year or so, come back: the rust must almost kill him ... :D ... joking ... TIN_MAN Thu, 28th Jun '01, 2:04pm :D :D...That was a good one! Iron golems are only hard in the first half of the game. Just wait for the Admatine or whatever golems which are 90% resistant to all phisical damage. They are some threat(using stoneskin on the character grants some protection against them though)! saukoon Fri, 29th Jun '01, 4:04am The golem was quite easy for me. At first I was surpried by its giant size and the name 'iron'. But due to its huge size also, it couldn't come out of the treasure room it guarded. So I just stood by the door and use range weapon + magic missle to tackle the giant! Frog Fri, 29th Jun '01, 4:35am I'm not sure about this but can't you use the stone to flesh spell to weakin golems? TIN_MAN Fri, 29th Jun '01, 11:25am A very interesting and creative idea indeed...but I think it is of no use, because the golems aren't petrified. It is worth a try anyway on the stone golem. I don't know if this applies to Adamentite (sp?) golems but my brother was playing the keep and he summoned mountain bears with his cleric and they killed the Iron golem with some melf's minute meteors back up. Of course this is good if you don't object to sending those poor bears to imminent death. renegarderose Fri, 29th Jun '01, 5:00pm Adamantite golem(think i got spelling) cant stand typos. dont ask. Anyway, i only encountered one and that was in suldanessellar. Just get something heavy, blunt and powerful, and run around hitting him. Did the job for me. Iron golems, i wait till they get stuck in door hehe. Dumb golems. I found the Adamantite to be more challenging than iron. :) Renegarde Lord Praetor Munir Sat, 30th Jun '01, 4:06pm its Adamantite i think... anyway.. those are the toughest.. find onein Fiekraggs lair and a few in Suldanessaler (if you rest in between ur fights).. they're tough.. but ifyou have good weapons.. they're easy to deal with.. i used the Crom Faeyr which is a +5 weapon which is blunt... so that makes it the best weapon versus those golems.. also.. the Ring of the Ram can also deal damage to the golems... about 25 damage per use.. so if you have two of those rings, thats half your work done for you |
