View Full Version : IWD2 kits
Palpatine Mon, 4th Feb '02, 10:29pm Looking at the official site. It seems they're replacing some of the BG2 kits. The fighter kits adds the mercenary, but no beserker. Rangers lose Beastmaster, Paladins lose Undead Hunter :( etc... While some of the new kits look sweet, why would the old kits be removed? can the engine only support 3 kits per class?
Also will wild magic/wild mage be in IWD2?
void Tue, 5th Feb '02, 10:27am What about a kit customizer? They could give you limited points to make your kit... Also I hope all the kits are actually half decent i.e. jester in BG2...
Wizard advocate Tue, 5th Feb '02, 10:57am I wonder whether they will allow us to chose our opposition class for specialist wizards like they do in the 3rd addition rules. I do think the opposition classes in the original IWD where a little harsh. :(
Mathetais Tue, 5th Feb '02, 2:36pm I'm sure that there is wailing and gnashing of teeth over the lost of the beastmaster kit. There are just so many non-metal weapons that kick butt
My guess is that they changed them just to change the feel of the game a bit. Gives us something to talk/spam about too.
I'll miss the undead hunter, but can't wait to see what the new ones bring to the table!
Z-Layrex Tue, 5th Feb '02, 9:09pm They'd better have assassin too. God i love that kit, and it'd be great in the Dungeons of the IWD games.
Taluntain Tue, 5th Feb '02, 11:34pm Ok, some info for the needy (heh):
-no wild mages (supposedly they don't exist yet when the story happens)
-mage schools will be the same as in HoW. (Sucky! I'm playing a generalist.)
-assassin is in
Kill_Lexington Wed, 6th Feb '02, 12:27am Tal is it going to be out and is it kinda like BG2 SOA
Thanks for the motivation for making my spelling better :holy: Thank you thank you very much
Darien Noella Wed, 6th Feb '02, 2:10am Now try adding some punctuation...
Taluntain Wed, 6th Feb '02, 10:46am I suppose that was supposed to mean when it's going to be out? As for any other game that hasn't been released yet, the release date is in the forum description. (And in the news on the front page.)
May 28, this year.
Nightal Romu Wed, 6th Feb '02, 10:54pm I heard this is the last game with the engine used on BG, BGII etc. :( Is this definete, or is this just a rumor?
Big B Wed, 6th Feb '02, 11:08pm Well all good things must come to end in gaming. However, there's always mods. Still not the real thing, but an otpion.

Taluntain Thu, 7th Feb '02, 9:39am Nightal Romu, unless they make an expansion for it (not that unlikely), yes, it's probably the last.
