Just for a fun experiment of magic, I injured my poor rogue to 4-5 HP, and casted a Disintegrate on him. He, failed the save and started to dissappear, you know how disintegrate works in IWD series, it takes a little time (1 round?) for the victim to be completely gone, it slowly and painfully fades into nothingness where as in BG it is immediately reduced into a pile of dust.
Anyway, as he faded away, I casted a magic misile on him. This killed him instantly, as he had 4-5 HP, and he died normal death, his portrait did not vanish (as disintegration was not completed), and I was able to ressurect him. But when I did, he came back completely translucent! It was like he was still disntegrating, but was frozen in the midst of the ordeal, and this was permanent. So he had a cool looking, always translucent, ghostly appaerence! Isn't this cool? It suits a rogue best me thinks. :)
Do you want to try it? Just be careful, if the target makes his save he will take some damage and die too (as he has few HP), or if you are too late to kill him, disintegration will kill first and he will be gone for good.
What do you think?
