View Full Version : Need Some Help with the Shadow Thief Quest
wanessa Sun, 3rd Feb '02, 11:51pm i got the quest to try and get invited into the rival theifs guild by the leader of the shadow theives, i went to the five flagons and met this guy but no mater how the dialogue went if couldnt fool the contact, so i ended up killing him and on the note you find on him its obvious you have to go the the crypts below the graveyard, ive cleared out the whole place including the chick with the spiders but i havent found anything and i cant get through the door in the north room, im guessing i need to get there and you cant open teh door, is there a key somwhere im missing? tx

Big B Sun, 3rd Feb '02, 11:55pm Good job so far Wanessa, but you need to report back to Aran Linvail. He will make arrangements with you on how to get that door open, as well as give you experience for doing the contact quest.

Lord Sarevok Mon, 4th Feb '02, 3:31am This is on topic, so I'd like to add it.
Usually the mage he sends automatically dies after the dialog with Lassal, but last time I intentionally went out of my way to protect him, and he actually acompanied me through most of the first floor, until he ran up to a vampire with his staff after running out of spells :(. Good man.
Ragusa Mon, 4th Feb '02, 8:03am Sarevok,
this is *not* on topic - since it is a little more than Wanessa might have wanted - obviously Wanessa is playing this game the first time ... there's a thing with spoilers ... some people are disappointed when they know what will happen, especially when they like to try out themselves.
There was no need and no other reason except your lust for spam that demanded to tell about the mage ... Wanessa is a newbie - and therefor probably didn't think about adding a "please-no-spolier" to prevent posts like yours - and since Wanessa's question seemed answered -
tx
(Note: no further question !) - there was no need for another reply left anyway ...

Lord Sarevok Mon, 4th Feb '02, 8:32am My lust for spam? I thought it was intresting so I added it. I recall reading a certain post about not making a new subject but instead adding to the orginal one, so I did. Guess there's no way not to break a rule here, is there? I thought this whole board was about discussion, would you rather had I never mentioned it at all?

Alienboy Mon, 4th Feb '02, 8:55am Exactaly right on last point! Most older members think you posting 382 posts a month is too much. So tone it down a bit. Also Im new too, and have a lot of spam lust myself but Ill try to do the same. You dont have to stop having fun just try and be bareable.

Blackthorne TA Mon, 4th Feb '02, 10:42pm People, people, who are the moderators here?
Lord Sarevok - I for one don't feel that your posts lack content, so as far as I'm concerned post as often as you like. BUT, if you are posting possible spoiler information as you did here (especially if it is a spoiler for the author of the thread) please indicate so in your post in the future.
Others - Keep your jealousy in check please; this is a message board where people discuss information about the games here. As long as Lord Sarevok has useful information to post, he may continue to do so.

Extremist Tue, 5th Feb '02, 2:29am BTA, you know that Ragusa definetly wasn't jealous on nothing because of his biblic knowledge on BG2.
I also think that Alienboy ment nothing wrong too.
IMHO the point was to keep wanessa from too much info that would kill her fun. She is definetly a newbie and she can't keep track on every single pathway inside and around the game as oldies do.
I do believe "there was no hatred and no malice" in here.
And why do I believe that?
Because there was no my post!!! ;)
