View Full Version : How to kill Iron Golem guarding the tomb?
Steven Fri, 20th Sep '02, 6:36pm seemed really tough...
any tricks or sth like that?
It really sucks...all I can do is just running. Is there any magic or certain "tactics" to take them out?
Tks in advance.
ejsmith Sat, 21st Sep '02, 12:13am Whatever you have that has the highest enchantment. Piercing, that is....
Blackthorne TA Sat, 21st Sep '02, 12:30am Iron Golems have damage reduction 50/+3 which means that with any weapon of less than +3, the first 50 points of damage are ignored.
Electricity should slow it and fire heals it; any other magic it should be immune to.
Vormaerin Sat, 21st Sep '02, 1:34am Yup, if you don't have +3 weapons, you are seriously SOL.
Spellbound Sat, 21st Sep '02, 5:49pm Have only one +3 sword and some arrows...that's it. And it's not even making a dent. We are so hosed. I've tried hasting my fighter, so he can get to the point where he can use his bow...to no avail. There's too many of them for one sword to be effective. Any ideas?
ChiLdO Sat, 21st Sep '02, 7:56pm I had all my men standing at the map exit after killing the duergar, went back with my lightfoot halfling rogue, unlocked the chest, paused the game ,took the loot, and ran as hell back to my party and I simply went on to next map, they are too hard at that level to beat
DraigDdu Sat, 21st Sep '02, 10:38pm I did something similar, myself. I ignored the tomb at first, defeated the Grey Dwarves, and then went about my business on the next map. After I purchased some +3 weapons, or found them on corpses, then I came back. I did that not because what was in the tomb struck me as being very spectacular. Rather, I did it because it was a challenge.
Anyway, just a thought.
Spellbound Sat, 21st Sep '02, 10:54pm I'm doing the exact same thing. Have bypassed the tomb for the time being....and will come back and get it later. Although I do believe I could haste my rogue and deal with it now. Hmmm, I may do that instead. Thanks!
Vormaerin Sat, 21st Sep '02, 11:46pm Tsk, tsk. Robbing those poor monks of their hard earned relics. And after they let you play in their little fun rooms, too. What is the world coming to?
Spellbound Sun, 22nd Sep '02, 2:38am LMAO! Actually, I've passed on those relics... they can have 'em. :D I'll just be glad to get out of the Underdark in one piece! Facing the spiders now....
Vormaerin Sun, 22nd Sep '02, 5:31am Ah, the driders are soo much fun. Especially if you have sucky alchemy like I did.
