Hi,
In chapter 5, i have the temple pillar, and got 4 from the outside of the temple, but theres one pillar, by some snake altar, that when i push ALT key it illuminates, but when i try to pick it up, it says LOCKED? do i need any special tool to get it? and i think i need like the top part of a pillar for one of the pillars that is missing only the top part.. can somebody enlight me a little bit more about this. or where i can find the other pillars. thanks

That is indeed the final pillar that you need. The reason you can't get to it is that the Heartless Dead in front of you are in a kind of pit blocking your path, so if you tried to cross the room you'd fall into the pit. There's a lever to the north that raises the pit until its floor becomes the floor of the room that you're in, and then you can walk across it and pick up the pillar. This will free the Heartless Dead, but they aren't dangerous to you.

There is only one pillar in the temple: the rest are outside. If the above solution doesn't help, find it outside.

hi again!

I already have the inside pillar. the ones outside i have all but the one that is to the right of the snake statue. the snake statue is in the top of a piramid and it have 2 pillars by it sides. i can get the one on the left, but the one on the right keep saying that is locked, every time i click on it. the snake is like an altar, i can put stuff in there. do i need any special item?, to put in the altar so i can unlock that other pillar. thats the only pillar i need to release the dragon guardian.
when i first touched the snake altar, it hit me hard and knocked 2 of my guys unconcious.
am i bugged? do i need to kill the guardian to finish the game?

No you dont have to kill the dragon, I myself didn't do it by acident the first time(Didn't have a clue about how to find the guardian). But if you dont kill it the gateway never closes. So you can go back and try later. When I found out I havent killed the dragon, I got back and did it... after the quest was over. Just so I HA DONE it :)

Millenium, that "locked" pillar is not one of the ones you need to collect. I think it was supposed to contain loot or something but I don't know anyone who managed to open it. You must have missed one of the other outside pillars.

The alternative to killing the dragon is to kill the three main Yuan-Ti leaders inside the temple: Ojaiha, Ashra, and Inhatri. Then you will have "broken the strength of the Yuan-ti" and can return to Kuldahar. See the online walkthrough for more.

for the fun and xp, you still need to kill the guardian.

If you go back to kill the guardian make sure you don't rest too long after beating him cause you can get stuck in the portal.. it gives you some message about the portal to kalduhar closing and that your stuck. Your only option is re-loading. I was pretty PO'd when it happend to me cause it took so many re-loads for me to kill him then I had to re-load anyway.

you should kill the guardian even if you don't need to cos besides exp, killing it will give you various resitances
