I have been watching a friend play IWD2 for the last week. He is playing through for the first time and I am silently watching his progress with amusement and anticipation.

One nice thing that happened was when he was facing off the Queen Remorhaz his deep gnome monk with the Tiax voice set was being slammed by the queen and lost lots of hp, about 60 off.

The Tiax voice pipes up,

"Tiax and his greatness will smite you like a bug, y,y,you, you insolent bug!" :D

Later on he was smacking up the yuan-ti temple in Chult and you could say that they were..."raped".

Then as he slotted in the last temple stele and the text says "The Guardian has been summoned", he gloats, "death to the guardian"...

until he saw what the guardian is. Like a dog with its tail between its legs he mumbled, "Oh... it's a dragon." :D

He then reloaded and then smashed it first fight.

Did you ever watch someone else play. It can be so funny sometimes.

Yeah, I do more of that than I actually play myself. And it gets boring fast. :(

I don't watch someone else playing but I know I enjoy the game. Some dialogues and sounds are real funny. This is my third time through and I don't usually play games three times. The game is FUN. Maybe not perfect but absolutely not a crap.

Whatching someone else play it for the first time can be lots of fun :)

I know I laughed my ass off when I saw a friend walk into the mindflayers in BG2's underdark. (The ones to the west) He was completely unprepared, and ran like hell. Right into a drow warparty :p

This is exactly what I mean. Watching others "stuff up" makes you laugh at yourself remembering the errors you made. :D

My mother is playing it now. She calls me day and night with questions, and frequently insists I come over to watch her win a tough battle. She is driving me CRAZY! She really gets into her gaming, screaming when she sees a bad guy, and keeping up a running commentary coaxing her characters along. Sample moment: "Jennifer, I killed all the goblins at the Palisade, all by myself, and then MORE GOBLINS teleported in! They smashed a wall! That's not right! Is there something wrong with my computer? Can you come over and check?"

Sprite, I can't even imagine someone's parents playing any kind of video game.

You must be about 14. ;)

That's exactly why I've forbidden my parents to play videogames!

How you did that?

Simple.

"You two don't play videogames. That's my job in this house."

It's all about communication. The fact that they have no desire to game helps too ;)

This morning my mate wanted to whack the twins, and all was going well until somebody forgot to turn up, so despite having Isair at -1000 hp and Madae at almost dead, it would not end...

Talk about "slightly miffed"...

Quote from mother as she first saw IWD2 "Why is there snow everywhere?"

I have forbidden anyone to use my Laptop - my gaming computer, it is my Precious, with a few bugs yes, but still mine.

I remember watching someone play and they were wondering around killing stuff, then they ot all there characters drunk and beserk and had a bar fight

I have bought my own computer and it's in my own room. Unless I tell them they can use it (I don't see why though, we've got as much computers as people in the house) they won't.

I saw my DM start up BG2 for the first time. He said he didn't like the game. The fact that he had cast a fireball in the midst of his party, had absolutely nothing to do with it ;)

I remember that while my first run, I was really frightened that I hopped in my chair when a lightning dropped on my poor fighter from sky. I was amazed but then I realized that it was "Call Lightning" casted by Trugnuk. Even after his dead, spell was hitting still.
