Is there any other way to get the ring from Ven aside from threatening to expose him when you first meet him? After defeating the iron golems, I found Ven but he was hostile. I killed him but he didn't have the ring.

You can complete the same quest by giving Nonin the ruby ring you find in the wyvern's nest outside the monastery. It isn't the right one, but works all the same. ;)

And you get to keep it!

You can also pick pocket Ven for Nonin's Ring. :whoa: :grin:

Well I guess the walkthru I found saying that you could talk to Ven after defeating the golems is a bust. Thanks for your input.

Yes, there is. I think it req. HIgh Intimidate (Barbarian.. a hem) that or diplomacy one should get it.. One of the two.. and if all else fails, save first, and try just killing him.. ^_^
