Before I buy the game, I've heard that IWD II is extremely linear. Anyone have supporting arguments, views, etc.?

All I'm going to say is that it makes Baldurs Gate look like s***.

it's really extremely linear, this is the most disgusting aspect of iwd2, but it really worths. Download it before you buy, and see it by yourself

It's just as linear as Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.
There's only one ending movie on the disk.
Other than that, it's a tough call. There's some neat things in it, but it's a little more "light-hearted" than I was expecting/wanting.
If you are into D&D, then yes; the game is worth buying. If you are just playing games to play games, then you'll probably be happier elsewhere...

all i can say is I thought i was into the BG games because of all the quests and what i thougt was ablility to set out on your own quests but what I realise was that I liked the strategic fighting, and getting awesome items after a battle well fought... Thats it... All though talking to people and going around towns is fun, I miss that aspect of BG2, although im only in chap 2 so I dont know there might be more towns!
