I donīt know about you, but I really like rangers because the can do anything (but they ar bad tanks and bombarders), and a few levels in any dex based character and rogues never is bad idea.

I agree that putting a couple of levels (4 max) of ranger into, let's say, your moon elf wizard/sorc, makes rpg sense as well as makes them able to be more proficient in bows and dual wield some nice daggers that benefit mages. I did just that and it has been very pleasing.

The same can be said for a couple of levels (no more than 2) of barbarian into your druid. Rpg value is you can make a raging polar bear (who wouldn't rage after being strained through chain mail during your tranformation!) and it helps make them a second level tank.

But your question is on favorite class--for powerplaying, I'll take the half-orc w/ a level or two of barbarian, fighter X any day. Choppity chop, axes oh my!

For role playing, the druids are fun. They are not so weak as before, and the neutrality and animal/nature angle is interesting.

They can scout, fight in melee whit two-wepon, can be archers, can use druid like spells, and with some levels in rogue can be a thief and with 4 leves in fighter he can learn extra feats and wepon specialization.

And I change my question, which is your favorite character(his/her race, aligment, clases, and if you want feats, skills, ability points, etc...)?
for me:
Ranger x/fighter 4/rogue x - Human - chaotic good
STR:16 DEX:18 CON:14 INT:8 WIS:10 CHA:10

My favourite is;
Aasimar - Paladin of Helm X/Fighter 4
STR 16 DEX 12 CON 18 INT 3 WIS 11 CHA 20
I have one PldoH 17/Ftr 4 and he has the most kills in my party.
He does 70 points of damage on smite evil criticals with long sword (Golden Heart...) and gets average 1/3 hit critical.

Faragon Feamith.
Aasimar Paladin of Ilmater/Cleric.
Str: 18 (+4)
Dex: 10
Con: 18 (+4)
Int: 8 (-2)
Wis: 20 (+5)
Cha: 6 (-3)

Aasimar: because of the WIS and CHA boosts, and the possibility to take the 'Luck of Heroes' feat, which gives a +1 to Saving Throws.
Paladin: because of the whole roleplaying factor, and the fact that they get a +4 saving throw bonus of course ;)
Cleric: because of support spells for melee, as well as summoning, and nice offensive spells.
Skills: Concentration, and a little Wilderness Lore.
Feats: Luck of Heroes and the other ST boosters, as well as Spell penetration.

And yes, I'm aware of the low charisma, which makes the paladin abilities rather useless, but I think the added points to wisdom for sake of spellDC and constitution for Concentration are more than worth it. I could've taken more points from INT, but I prefer my characters with a little intelligence.

My current favourite is Maurice the human fighter x/Diviner 5. Cant remember his precise stats offhand, but he is dual wielding the brilliant shortsword +5 and suo's (sp) hook and wearing the abishai leather, wyrm's maw and bracers of icelandic pearl. The cloak of mystra's going his way when the party finds it, too.

Well, nothing wrong with my Paladin's savings... they're pretty high up there.

And as far as I know savings are only determined by DEX, CON and WIS respectively to Reflex, Fortitude and Will saves

A paladin gets positive CHA modifier added to his saving throws. So, a 6 CHA paladin will get 0(zero) bonus to saving throws.
Faragon, IMHO you really made a mistake. You sure should have high CHA on that build.

My favourite is character class is Paladin 1/Sorcerer, because they get really nice bonuses to saving throws (and can use lay on hands) :)

Here's example:
Aasimar Paladin 1/Sorcerer x
Str 10, Dex 18, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 8, Cha 20

Skills: Concentration and Spellcraft 10 to get Elemental feats (Spirit of flame, Aqua mortis etc.)
Feats: Dodge or Deflect Arrows

Don't ask why, but my favourite character was my Deep Gnomish Bard. A bad choice, yes. But fun, and decent at fighting.

Khelben, I have that one too. But my favourite is a drow Paladin of Mystra. He's not that good at tanking, talking or anything, but he's fun to play with!

My favourite was Madoc Skoll, Human Bard. Just a really fun character to play and added a lot to the party. Bards continue to impress and surprise me in what they are capable of doing.

I haven't got my game with me right now to check stats but heres my favourite character roughly -

Zar (Moon Elf) Sorcerer.
High Cha
Pretty High Dex
Quite High Con
Average Str, Wis.

At some point i will give him a level in ranger so he can dual wield two long swords (or a long sword and a dagger). Currently he's my main archer, using an everlasting arrow rather than keep buying normal arrows. He's also got the 3rd highest kills in my party. About 150 (my tanks have just over 300 a piece i belive). I just love sorcerer's lots of spells thing and just running up to those enemies who are trying to run away and blasting some flame arrows or missiles (force or magic) into them at point blank range.

When my tanks were holding back a big force in the Ice Temple and my rogue and illusionist were injured, and running to my cleric, Zar stood his ground as two dire/winter wolves broke through - 1 uninjured and the other half dead. The injured wolf took a flame arrow and then a lucky shot with Zar's trusty everlast arrow finished him off. As the second wolf neared zar fired his last spell (magic missile as it happened) but it barely injured the wolf. Knowing that my rogue and illusionist (especially my illisuionist) would be torn to pieces if the wolf got through Zar drew his dagger and hacked and slashed at the wolf. The wolf didnt hit Zar once but he got many attacks in upon the beast till, atlast, it fell to the ground.

Thanks for the heads up Anakha, it seems you're right. My savings were okay, but now they're skyhigh ;)

That leaves me with a new favourite character to find :D

I just started a new game, and while I really like my Bard and Rogue as I did in my last game, I've developed a real fondness for my Druid and my Paladin/Transmuter.
Characters that can do many different things and handle multiple tasks in a game are the best, and I'm foreseeing lots of great strategies with my Druid. The Paladin/Transmuter is coming along nicely, and she'll likely be mostly Transmuter with a few Paladin levels, but again it's that combination of abilities that really makes the character fun to play. I really dislike "power characters", the ones developed for maximum destructive capacity, those are dead boring.
