Ok what's the trick, this is getting annoying.
Every time I hit one of the ochre jellies in the caverns in Chap. 3, they split.
But it's a catch, because every time I kill one, another comes. I've used 6 fireball potions at once, aimed at the same spot, simultaneously. The damage kills the orginal ochre jellies but two more uninjured ochre jellies appear. It's a catch 22. Just what is going on here? And how do I get around it?

Every Jelly that splits has less HP's than the original one. It is good to open up with at least a Fireball or a Flame Strike to bring them all to Almost Dead. After that you can use less powerful potions or spells to finish them off.

I got 'em. Glad to hear that their hitpoints go down each time. I was getting worried.
Though I didn't get any xp for them. At least one point would've been nice :p .

Indeed - level based xp is pretty annoying sometimes. I understand that killing an iron golem is way easier for a lvl-30 char than for a lvl-8er, therefor a difference in xp makes sense. However, I just hate it that, once you're on higher levels, you may kill a horde of minor enemies for nothing.
I mean, that way the game punishes you for leveling up too fast by doing every quest methodically. A *symbolic* xp for minor enemies would have been nice, even it it would only be like 1 to 10xp per kill.
That is pretty annoying after a while - I have fought snowtrolls with an exausted higher level party repeatedly, having run out of spells and in desperate need of rest - for nothing - even though they nearly killed my party in every fight ... :almostmad:

I found the spell 'shroud of flame' the best for these jellies. Just sit back and watch them die. Flame strike good too, with an evasive rogue guiding your strikes.

Ragusa, why don't you try the Weimer Mod that allows some xp for all kills? I added the edited Moncrate.2da file to the override and you will always get some xp for minor monsters no matter level. I don't consider it a cheat and any real DM would give some...
