Since my original topic, just like other glorious things got lost in THE BIG CRASH, I start it all new ... :D

This topic is for all these, who cannot wait any longer and want to speculate and discuss about their favoured chars and classes or kits for their IWD-2 games :) :spin: ;)

my current favourite (good aligned) party concept is:
-Aasimar cavalier Lord Belmen
-Halfling votary Sir Donaldus
-Woodelf archer Imrahil or - as the kit develops now - rather a stalker
-Gold Dwarf mc Fighter-Cleric Arabakus Strongshield(I know I'll need healing :D )
-Lightfoot Halfling arcane-rogue Caffrey Beamish
-half-elf Aes Dana or human Battleguard of Tempus; maybe even a sorcerer or perhaps a fighter-mage

Post your ideas, opinions and party concepts here! :)

As my great reply likewise was deleted in the Great SP Crash, here is what I am probably going to play with. I remember saying something witty as well in my previous reply, but I can't remember it, so you will all have to go without. :D

- Aasimar Giant Killer
- Deep Gnome Sorcerer
- Wood Elf Stalker
- Gold Dwarf Battleguard of Tempus
- Moon Elf Blade
- Human Swashbuckler

Black Rose
Sun, 24th Feb '02, 6:36pm
Drow Wizard Slayer
Aasimar Cleric
Tiefling Weapons Master
Tiefling Mage
Lightfoot Halfling Swashbuckler

This will be my party.

Not really sure about the whole subrace thing yet, but the short people shall invade the Dale. It will of course be a good alligned party.

Dwarf - Priest of Lathander
Dwarf - Berserker
Dwarf - Wizard Slayer
Gnome - Illusionist/cleric
Gnome - Swashbuckler
Gnome - Barbarian

The trick will be finding funny voices to them all :)

my party will be this

Male Drow-Elf Wizardslayer
Male Drow-Elf Mercenary
Male Dwarf Barbarian
Male Gnome Thief
Female Drow-Elf Necromanicer
Female Drow-Elf Priest of Bane

by the way no one will or can be
dual-classed, good or neutral, only evil :)
or even multi-class
can halflings be paladins in any other game than iwd2

Alas, poor druids, we knew you well. What's up with you guys? I think BGII has stirred up way too much anti-druid sentiments. Druids rocked the house in IWD and especially in HOW, and yet none of you (with the exception of Ragusa) has even considered taking one along. On behalf of our nature-loving brothers and sisters, I am truly disappointed. Oh well. While I am sitting back with a cool glass of lemonade ,letting my druid handle all the bad guys with a couple entangles and spike growths, I'll be thinking of you folks...

....and what about monks? I realize they're hurt magnets at low levels, but given time (and they do level fast) they can become serious killing machines, without weapons or armor. you gotta love the efficiency.

okay, enough preaching. I just had to speak for these poor, under-represented classes. My picks are:

Human Monk
Aasimar Inquisitor
Half-elf (or woodelf, if allowed) druid or avenger druid
Tiefling Sorcerer
Deep Gnome Illusionist/Thief
and something else.

Of course, I'll probably change my mind multiple times before the game comes out.

I am the self pronounced king of Druids. See BG2 forum archives for proof.

Silmire: Half-Elven Shapeshifter
Sir Dargorn: Human Votary
Avoch Dar: Elven Sorcerer
Mephestise: Wood Elf Archer
Salik Gri: Drow Assasin
Farinassa: Human Cleric (Only, but very beautiful Woman)

Asmodeus, interesting choice.....

An all female party except you? Good call or just a little fantasy at work ;)

I'm not sure yet about my party, as I'm still not managing to picture most of the new races, classes and kits. I think I shall have to experiment a little when I first see it before I decide. For example, I have no experience of drow. Except that little tease in the cough, cough well they could never prove it anyway.

It could be quite interesting to try out this evil group:

le human or tiefling sorcerer (staff, darts, MAGIK) - leading a groop of hired goons:

n ghostwise halfling assassin (shortsword, light crossbow)

ln halforc or human Landsknecht (greatsword or halberd)

ce human or duergar Ravager (spear or greataxe)

le human dreadmaster of bane (flail)

ce elf or drow riddlemaster (bastard sword/ crossbow)
Heh.

Human Kensai. Dual wielding short swords and bastard swords.

No katanas and wakizashis. Damn it!
That's it, then.

Thu, 28th Feb '02, 1:31pm
2 Aasimar Paladins (probably Cavalier)
1 Dwarven Barbarian (probably golden dwarf)
1 Silverstar of Selune
1 BattleGuard of Tempus
1 Elven Sorcerer

My party is founded around a Brother/Sister team of earth bound angels seeking to right the wrongs of this fallen planet..

Aasimar Votary
Aasimar Silverstar of Selune

The Votary is married to a Wood Elf Giantslayer (probably the ranger kit I'll pick)

Their friends include:

Ghostwise halfling Bard
Half Elf Aes Dana
Drow Sorcerer

Names & weapons (a work in progress)...
Votary - Scandal, using a two-handed sword & long bow
Silverstar - Kerygma , using a War Hammer or Mace & Shield / Sling & Shield
Giant Slayer -Shea, using Spear & long bow
Bard - Fragil, using (no clue ... dual short swords maybe, or throwing daggers???)
Aes Dana - Ashe, using Clubs
Sorcerer - Orthae Faer (for the drow fans, that means something), using typical mage weapons & magic!

well thanks a TON Ragusa. Now I can't wait for this game to come out :( More sleepless nights dreaming of a game I'll never have time to play  ;)

Oh so many choices....
I'd have to say a human Landsknecht, because i have to have a fighter or two, and why not a new one.
Then, an elven Arcane rouge, sounds like a great combo of magic and theiving.
Next, maybe something drow...hmmm...maybe a mercanary, gotta keep with the new stuff.
hmm, rest takes some though. I will very likely use the dreadmaster of bane, and some kind of druid.

This all sounds great... I am still very, very undecided. :)

I've always used the following as a start party for IWD:

Human Paladin
Human Fighter
Halfling Fighter/Thief
Half-elf Fighter/Cleric
Half-elf Fighter/Druid
Human Mage

I'll probably use this with IWD-2 as well. And when I finish it I'll play all the different types of kits and races.

Sir Yerril of Morningmist
Sat, 2nd Mar '02, 9:52pm
Human paladin of Lathander
Elven assassin
Half-Elven archer
Half-Orc barbarian
Gnome illusionist

Figure out the reference and win a prize :)

Here's what I'm thinking about for my first party....

Aasimar Cavalier: Belisarius Durendal
Lightfoot Halfling Arcane Rogue: Nimbul Alewine
Gold Dwarf Fighter: Thorin Hammerhand
Half Elf Priestess of Selune: Eowyn Elfhelm
Human Mage: Galador the Red
Elf Fighter Mage: need to think up a name!

I can barely even begin to decide but I've some idea...

I'd like a monk, aasimar, tiefling or drow most likely.

An elven, drow, half-elven, human, duregar or deep gnomish fighter mage or fighter sorerer (if F/S is allowed).

Some super good mage or sorcerer.

A deep gnome paladin :) .

There are billions more that I can think of...

I'm thinking of making a party with only subraces, that would be cool!

Grah'huk
Mon, 4th Mar '02, 3:33pm
My party-to-be:
Drow Weapons Master - Grah'huk, CG
Aasimar Cavalier - Leishara, LG
Ghostwise Halfling Assassin - Asthin, CN
Human Arcane Rogue (dual later) - Rethna, NG
Aasimar Battleguard of Tempus - Aerias, LN
Deep Gnome Illusionist - Ancalagon, CG

Probably will dual the rogue to a mage, so he can cast the spells that the illusionist can't.

Thx, Ragusa. Maybe I should pay more attention to IWD updates.

Grah'huk,
I fear your main char of choice cannot be the wizard-slayer: This kit was ditched in favour of the Landsknecht.
The remaining fighter kits up to now are: weapon's master, ravager and landsknecht.

Brega
Tue, 5th Mar '02, 4:16pm
Hmm... Maybe this would be nice:

1. Male Human Landsknecht, The ultimate Two-Handed Swordsman!
2. Male Dwarven Ravager, Very Korganish
3. Female Human Monk, Yeah!
4. Female Tiefling Swashbuckler, wields Two Longswords
5. Male Gnomish Illusionist, prefferably named Igbut
6. Male Human Battleguard (?)

Okay ... I was tempted to start a new thread, but I figured we could just re-work our party ideas in the Classic Ragusa Fashion.

So ... considering the fact that Kits are out & 3E multi-classing is in ... what will your party look like?

Aasimar Paladin
Gold Dwarf Barbarian
Wood Elf Ranger
Ghostwise halfling Bard
Tiefling Druid
Drow Sorcerer

I'm kinda week on thieving skills, which is fine because I never sneak...I just need someone to picklocks and find traps.

Ragusa
Sat, 16th Mar '02, 11:03pm
Hmm, considering the changes I have to readjust my chars of choice as well ... so my original party now looks like

Lord Belmen, aasimar Paladin of Illmater or Paladin of Helm (multiclassed - gains either cleric (Ilmather) or fighter (Helm) levels - I haven't yet decided) - I want him multiclassed since the aasimar's fav class is paladin, so he won't have a malus. He'll be fighting melee only (anything else wouldn't be honourable, he'll never use peasant's weapons like halberds either) - my cavalier pendant :(

Sir Donaldus, halfling pure paladin(legit this time ;) , all classes will be open for all races!!!)

Imrahil, woodelf ranger putting all his efforts in bows, my archer ;)

Arabakus Strongshield, gold-dwarf mc fighter-cleric - I know I'll need healing :D

Caffrey Beamish, lightfoot-halfling mc rogue-wizard, maybe even rogue-fighter-wizard - perhaps a little daring, considering the xp-penalty but also very promising combos ...

Yet Open, :D, considering the countless glorious deeds of the heroes above, a lightfoot-halfling bard might be nice, or a wise wizard or sorcerer ... I'll see
As for multiclassing and pally's or monks read J.E. Sawyer's first post: http://feedback.blackisle.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29811

Well, I might as well scap my previous idea. But, here it goes:

Grah'huk, Drow Fighter, spec in two-weapons,
Leishara, Aasimar Paladin
Asthin, Ghostwise Halfling thief, might take a few levels of sorc or wiz.
Aerias, Aasimar Cleric, Backup warrior.
Rethna, Human Bard/Sorc. Specialize in support spells.
Ancalagon, Deep Gnome Illusionist.

* Now if they remove all the special races, I'll raise (explicative deleted). I've already lost my wizard slayer, but I will not stand for losing my Drow Elf.

TheBlackRose
Sun, 9th Jun '02, 5:08pm
A Human Male Bard/Fighter, Lingrin Songe.
A Wild-elven Female Rogue/Sorcerer, Teresa Shadowspell.
A Ghostwise Halfling Male Barbarian/Rogue, Ferrul Raige.
An Elven Male Fighter (or pally, haven't decided), Gen Oakbow.
An Aasimar Female Cleric, Faith Everlast.
An Elven Male Wizard (or fighter/wizard, again haven't decided), Magicus.

OK, there's my six-member party, Lingrin's Leopards.

I am also thinking about a second party for IWD-2 (if I stand the guilt of doing evil things all game):

-Portoss, Human Stormlord of Talos (natural leader :D ) using FLAILS
-Arloth, human fighter-bard
-Snagar, Duergar fighter
-Faltarin, Drow fighter-sorcerer
-Erloth, "The Dagger", Tiefling rogue-fighter
-Shnarff, Half-Orc barbarian-rogue (or better: thug :D )

Just a thought ...

Gunthar
Mon, 10th Jun '02, 4:54am
Gunthar - Human Paladin
Renkhar - NG Dwarven Tank
Kevlin - LN Half-Elf Fighter/Cleric
Lisanne - NG Human Sorcerer
Niome - CG Aasimar Cleric
Griedvar - CN Svirfneblin Illusionist/Thief

Of course Greidvar is really a long lost Svirfneblin cousin of Jan Jansen  . Or I might have to rearrange my party to include my psychotic CN Half-orc Barbarian/Thief (don't even think of backstabbing him) Kharlum. The only good thing about PoR, was that it had a good character model for him.

I have a question...Will drow elves actually be able to levitate, cast faerie fire, and globe of darkness in this game? Does anyone know?

Wed, 12th Jun '02, 10:42am
nope, I think that Drow in IWD2 (As well as in NWN) would be an aesthetic choice.

Faerie fire: yes. The rest: no.

Anyway, check SP! All the info's here! Doh.
