i cant kill those little buggers, ive tried giving my strongest fighters haste and luk to try and help them land a decent hit, but the good hits are still pretty rare and they my party are severly damaged by electricty damage before they can get the lights even close to dead..the obvious answer would be protection from electricty, i had one scroll and taught it to my wizard so he now has the spell memorized, however he has no spell slots avalable, ne one know either how to get him some more without levveling up and without cheating, cos i need tht protection from electricty and ive scanned all the maps i can get to, right back to the ice glacier and i still cant find ne thing with tht property, only other thing i have is a potion of absorbtion but i can only use tht on one party member and only has resistance of 2 ne way, can ne one help?

Aasimars have resistance of 5 to electricity.
The feat 'Scion of Storm' grants +5 resistance to electricity.
Reward for completing level 4 of battle squares are the 'boots of grounding' +6 resistance to electricity.

Try and get everyone to hide (invisibility 10' radius works fine). Move all your weaker charecters to the middle of the map, just south of the tree in the middle. They will do nothing at all now.
Have only your high melee damage charecters go after the little freak lights. Concentrate everyone on just one light till it dies, then move on to another.
They have high AC and huge magic resistance. So spells are pretty useless against them. And you need a good BAB to actually hit them. However they have few HP so they will go down fast.

Isn't protect from electricity a cleric spell as well. Leave the area, go into yor cleric and wizard, remove existing spells and memorize as many protects as you can. rest for 8 hours and go back and kick butt. Bless, prayer, and bull's strength really help here too!

Is it just me or do the will'o'wisps respawn. I swear I killed two of them and they just reappeared with full health, bloody irritating. :D

They don't respawn but they do phase out and re-appear somewhere else (usually right behind you). So those times they've vanished, you hadn't actually killed them.

They do seem to regain some health ONCE. Dont despair just kill them, one at a time.

Barbarian[x] - Improved Critical - WIdow Through - Boots of Grounding - Bulls Strength - Haste = dead annoyences.

Or for the rare case you soloed a sorc here, you will have Horrid Wilting by now. That has always worked for me.

Thanks for the knowledge. I was never sure what was going on. As for horrid wilting, that spell just rocks. It's effective against everything, except undead.

Spells are nearly useless against those, yet I was able to disintegrate one in HOF! I must be lucky, indeed.

Clerics have protection from electricity (a weaker version) as a 4th level spell, I think. You can use it.

Dark treants are more annoying than those in HOF!They are...devastating, crowded, confuses everybody, and then...well, it was hard but I did it!

Hey, nobody told me that HOF will be easy!
Though I finished it for two times and I am not ashamed.

I beat Isair and Madae with horrid wilting. Their resistance to everything is so high that I wasted my whole spell library upon them without so much as getting Madae to 'Injured'. After several reloads and much observation I realized that horrid wilting did the most damage to them. I cast that four times and the battle was over. Umm...I guess I wandered off topic. Oh well I was just so excited that I wanted to proclaim my love for this spell. :)

Isair and Madae are actually WEAK to COLD damage in HOF! (I don't know in normal, but if they are even weak to cold in HOF, I guess in normal..hehe) (Madae takes 10 extra cold damage in HOF)
No spells are required, just freeze them with any cold damae weapon, the best is Halbert of the North, which does tremendous damage to them.
Hey, yes I wandered off topic too...Sorry!

I killed the will o' wisps by having my sorcerer use Haste and Luck on everyone, then having everyone running around and shooting at them (the will o' wisps). I have also had some luck with Improved Invisibility, though I couldn't use it on everyone at that time. (i've had fun with the dragons this way). I just cast it on the mages and my cleric, and did the haste thing with the fighters (I played the fight twice.) I used Lower Resistance and cold and fire spells (I don't remember which of cold and fire worked better.)

The only time I tried was with some healing, haste and potions (and a lot of swearing at the little buggers). Then again, it was at some of the easier difficulties.

The Will-O-Wisps weren't that hard in normal mode for me since I cast a bunch of animate deads and the bone guards are immune to electricity damage. You just need them to target the boneguards while you attack the little buggers.

I just kept smacking at them and used some good ol' DoT spells. :)

Well, I passed over them earlier today with my new party (5 members, normal difficulty). No spells save for recitation and emotion: hope (I love those attack bonuses, hehe). Not much of a problem, although my druid got herself somewhat injured. Well, that's what I get for sending a druid with only 1 level of barbarian into the fray... sigh.
