I need to know what to do...

I finished with the bridge, killed all the monsters, and then went back to Targos and reported to Ulbrec. I then mad the trek through four or five maps back to the bridge, to go to the horde gates. BUT when i try to go to the gates it wont let me... theres no link on the map to click on!

Am I supposed to go directly to the gates from targos, by-passing all the other routes?

You can go directly to the gates by using your world map.
same with the Bridge or all other world maps.

Well, in fact that's not quite true... For instance, you can go to the Ford from the World Map, but not the Bridge. So if you need to see Arte again-- and you might, as he's the only one with an unlimited supply of Flaming Oil to buy-- you have to walk through the Ford map to get to the town where he and the Priestess of Selune are.

You can either go back or forwards to the World Map from here (walk through to the bridge exit, or back the way you came), but iirc neither of these exits have the Horde Fortress entry enabled (it's there, but you can't select it). I believe that after shopping with Arte, I had to take the Map back to the Palisade and then exit from the Palisade to get the Horde Fortress item to work.

I consider it a mildly annoying bug, given that Arte really needs to be a bit more available, and if one went back to the Ford to buy spells from Sabrina (now that you got some cash for saving the Palisade), it's only a hop anyway.
