It seems that nowdays, and for a while now that I think of it, online gaming is the only way to go.
So.....what do you think a Baldurs Gate:online game would be like. Obviously, new and improved engines, features and the like would need to be made, but I was just wondering if anyone else thinks it would be a good idea. Any opinions?

Well, I imagine it would be like, uh, NWN
I'm not so sure if online gaming is the way to go.. I'm a morrowind guy myself, I think people are getting fed up with the kind of level hunting you get in games like Everquest of UO. Noone's acting in character, everyone's uber.. and it's all about leveling and collecting items. All the truly great computer RPGs so far have been single player (final fantasy, BG, Fallout, etc)... if not completely, then mainly single player. I think it works like that, for pen and paper rpg, multiplayer is the only thing that works, for computers, single player is the best solution.

Huh, ummm, I didn't mean THAT sort of online RPG....more like a MMORPG type, y'know, where everyone was a single person, selecting from the classes from the start and such stuff.

A Text RPG - brilliant
anyway I think that BGOnline may be a bit - unsuitable.
Certain games just don't make good internet, lots of people would be the same as everyone else in appearence and class and stuff, and it would be like NWN, people would start getting bored of it quite quickly as it wouldn't *feel* like Baldurs' Gate. Well, it's hard to explain.
If you wanted to make an online version of a game I'd suggest something that has more competition and more *free* BG is like - you are the child of a God, do stuff and get on with it. you need something more like - You are, continue being.
