This is probably a dumb question but do you get dark side points when you take reward money for finishing quests?
Also, when you go into a city or a house and take things from the chests and crates....is that considered dark-side worthy? I mean in real life you just wouldn't go taking things from public places.

I think you have to be a little bit evil than that to get dark side points. You get light side points if you refuse reward, you only get dark side points if you threathen or the like for more reward. Also it is not considered evil to loot stuff. Everything you can take is put there for you. :)

As for rewards, you only get Dark Side points if you use Force Persuade (Affect/Dominate Mind) to argue prices/rewards, but not always. You always, however, get Light Side points for refusing rewards. How do I know? I always refuse rewards ;)
Dark Side points are always, or nearly always, given at the end of a conversation and they're always associated with a clear choice.

It really subjective. Like, I got some dark points for wiping out the sand people. But since I thought it was the right thing to do, I gave myself 25 light points. I figure I got at least 10 dark points in their little world of "morality", so I earned 15 light in mine. Yeah, the stealing thing would be dark sided. Of course. But if they dark sided you for every single thing, it would seriously affect play balance, so they let to do things that don't get a reaction out of their characters they've programmed in. Like I was saying, it's completely subjective. If you don't agree with Bioware's morality, they planned ahead and let you decide for yourself.

I think the scale ranges up to around 110, with there being a 10 point "grey" area.

Ok thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll start refusing rewards for a while cause I'm trying to play the good-girl this time. I seem to be doing pretty well with the card-game anyway. It's a good thing they don't consider gambling evil.

Gambling is not evil, if you play fair ;)
As it is said above, you dont get points if the game doesnt say so or you added them yourself...
