Ok, I bought started reading Elminster in Hell but got confused. How is this related to Elminster: The Making of a Mage and The Temptation of Elminster? I gave up after a couple chapters and started reading the Avatar Trilogy. But I just have Waterdeep left. How is does Elminster in Hell tie in with the timelime of Forgotten Realms?

And since it's the latest book I expect it's also the most recent in the timeline. It's not a continuation of the trilogy from before, that's probably over. El is over 500 years old so a lot of stuff happens in his lifetime that Greenwood can pin down. ;)

Ok, so it may just be a random event that happened to him in his long lifetime. But I had another idea. In the avatar trilogy, Shadowdale and Tantras to be more specific, Elminster gets sucked into a rift. Then later in Tantras when he reappears, he talked a little about it. Could Elminster in Hell possibly be related to that rift in the Temple of Lathander?

I don't think so, but then again, I'm just guessing. I'm waiting for the paperback to come out before I buy it. ;)

Elminster went to hell in Troy Dennings book "The summoning - Return of the Archwizards - book 1".

Without spoiling anything, lets just say accidental rift and of course he has to close it from the inside;)
