Not really... certainly not objectivity-wise, though they certainly get the most exclusives. However, with their ratings of betas more often than full versions and dubious high-rated reviews of games which are total crap but produced by Lucas Arts for example (some SW title, I don't remember the name), they're about as credible in my opinion as if you were reading reviews written by the people who made the game.

If any gaming magazine out there is corrupt or bribed when it comes to certain games, it's PC Gamer.

Well, I have learned to trust their ratings,(except perhaps in the case of NWN) I think that they are all for the most part correct. If I read a review on a game and they rate it at 92%, I buy the game and I really like it. So next time I see a game that rates in the 90's, I will surely buy it. But, everyone IS entitled to their own opinions.

Well Kovalis but it is easy to give a game more than 90 or less than 90.For example BF1942 is more than 90 and Asterix:The Game is not.
I don't buy any gaming magazines for 2 years ,that was the time i learned to trust internet.
EDIT: My damned keyboard.

Bought it a few times until I noticed that it was just an ad-magazine with a price: filled with high-praise. Here are some quotes from their "Neverwinter Nights: How to Be a DM" (http://www.pcgamer.com/eyewitness/eyewitness_2002-07-09.html)

--The massively multiplayer hit EverQuest seemed to be the pinnacle of PC-based gaming.-- Well, listen up, fan boys: you’ve been worshipping a false idol. Prepare to bow before the one true online D&D deity-- They practically say that NWN is the god of games. :shake:

--While you’ll happily schlep a party of characters through Neverwinter Nights’ epic single-player story, starting out on the plot path with your own carefully created hero(ine), the game’s seemingly endless longevity stems from its multiplayer component.-- Epic single-player story... Perhaps we should take a look at the NWN forums first... Endless longevity; yeah, sure, let´s just ignore the poor single-player game...

--In the few hours I spent using the game’s amazing toolset to lay floor plans, connect wilderness areas to dungeons, and populate the locations with monsters and uniquely created treasures-- Translation: "Create your own unique dungeons and wilderness areas easily withing a few hours."

No thank you; there are enough ads in this place alone -why would I want to buy them?

Just to clarify, there are different PC Gamers in different parts of the world. The UK Gamer mag is the one that featured SP recently and is the best games mag all around in my opinion but then I think they are aimed at a slightly older audience than most of the mags.

There website is:

I haven't gotten the current issue yet. What do they say about sp?

Man, you really love PC-Lamer! Not my cup of tea. There is no substance. Very pretty wrapper with nothing inside.

Except that they give a nod to SP. I will give them credit for that.

I've tried PC Gamer. It's absolutely terrible.

However, I switched over to Computer Gaming World for a while, and I liked it much better. I just haven't gotten around to subscribing to it again, but I certainly will.

Kovalis Darkfire there was a few posts about this in the Sorcerer's Sundries section. This link (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=18;t=000257) will take you to one with some scans of the PC Gamer pages.
