I have just recently watched the mini series on DVD, and I found it a fascinating story (although the acting in the movie was a little cheesy).

I was just wondering, has anyone here read the books and can recommend them? I am definitely looking into buying them.

I read the Earthsea books as a kid and couldn't really get into them.

I saw a compilation of the Legend of Earthsea books the other day. I was thinking about getting it too, but decided to check out the Chronicles of Amber first. Pretty good so far imo

I liked the books, haven't seen the mini series (didn't even know one existed). They have that good 'old school' fantasy feel, which i love.

Read the books, they are good but nothing spectacular. What I remember the most is the main character sitting in a boat looking for his shadow or something.

I read the books several years ago. The first one was good but I found the others to be quite dull.
