View Full Version : Asterix and Obelix booger Mon, 31st Oct '05, 5:11pm Anyone else enjoy the adventures of these 2 adventerous Gauls? Personally, I rank the books right up there with The Adventures of Tintin. Ziad Mon, 31st Oct '05, 10:45pm Of course! These two series are among the best European comics, along with Lucky Luke, most things that have Gosciny collaborting in them, and just about anything by Frankin. I grew up on these things... great memories! I've yet to see the Asterix and Obelix movies, even though many people told me the second one was very good. tipperon Sun, 6th Nov '05, 2:25am I didnt even know there where movies...and yes I enjoy those comics Carcaroth Thu, 10th Nov '05, 2:09pm The cartoon movies were great, and there is a shed load of them. I can't comment on the ones with Gérard Depardieu, I believe there were two, though there are apparently another two in production. http://www.imdb.com/find?q=asterix;s=all The Magpie Thu, 10th Nov '05, 2:14pm Asterix rules! (Well, more specifically Obelix rules...) The best one was Asterix goes to Britain, where everyone stops fighting at 3pm to take afternoon tea. :coffee2:  Carcaroth Mon, 14th Nov '05, 9:34am I heard on the radio over the weekend that there's a new book out. The new "villain" isn't a Roman, but a megolomaniac dictator called "Hubs". I presume they were joking, but they claimed that an American government source has stated that the Administration don't intend reading it. (I'm paraphrasing for comic effect). Pac man Mon, 14th Nov '05, 10:13am I have the entire series, as well as comicbooks, as on videotape. On video there are also some stories that never came out as a comicbook. I also used to have several Asterix comicbooks on my harddrive, but that one died on me and i never made backups. I'd like to get those back, but i don't even remember where i got them in the first place. LeFleur Mon, 14th Nov '05, 10:23am Asterix and especially Obelix are great! I literally grew up with these humorous comics, you can read them ten times and still discover new jokes :) Really great memories! Arabwel Sat, 26th Nov '05, 12:04pm Oooh, much love, defnitely much love for these two. Burt damn, now I am tempted to go home and dig up alll the old albums I have for a good stroll down the memory lane... I remember my Dad using Asterix and Obelix as an example when explaining stuff to me or trying to teach me theoretical stuff.... Bahir the Red Sun, 27th Nov '05, 5:12pm I love those comics (along with Tintin and Lucky Luke). My father saved them from when he was little, so I have the originals (in swedish)(same for Lucky Luke and Tintin) Silverstar Wed, 30th Nov '05, 1:19pm Well I watched their cartoons when I was a very child, and I really liked them! It is funny, and I loved the way when bad guys were beaten up, their teeth, eyes, shoes etc. fly all over, I once saw a flying BOXER with cute little hearts :p when Asterix and Obelix dove into a group of enemy soldiers! Now that was interesting! :D OOh their village was so fun too! the fisherman, (eww it is stinky) the blacksmith, that chief who likes being carried on a plate, (or was it a shield) that old druid-like gut who always cooks potions, ah ah and that bardic fellow who is always hung and tied up a tree at the big party end of every adventure! Ahh the memories. Sorry most names escape me now and plus in the versions I watched the names were like..Turkish so I never knew the original names of the people  And I have watched the first movie, it was good, I think they made a pretty good job and acting. Haven't seen the second though. :( Undertaker Wed, 30th Nov '05, 5:57pm I love them :D I've got all those comics that vere released  It's fantastic, outstanding,... :D Fabius Maximus Thu, 1st Dec '05, 12:12am I have all first german editiions. :) Disciple of The Watch Thu, 1st Dec '05, 12:14am What about Asterix and Ofelix? No, kidding. Asterix and Obelix tie with Garfield and Leonard, for me. |
