Ever read these books by Auel?

I finished Clan of the Cave Bear and the Valley of Horses. I never thought that I would like it, but its ok to read about cavemen.

Still have my gripes though. I hated the notion that the Neanderthals could not speak, but had a complex form of sign language, and that humans have no idea of how sex works. Even the stallion in the second book knows how sex works!

Mating rituals but constant free sex? I think Auel must have been at Woodstock or even an organiser!

Extremely when written settings and a nice pace to the stories.

Comments?

I've read all to date, though I'm guessing Auel is not done yet.
I've enjoyed them, but the thing I hate most is how the heroine (I forget her name) is responsible for so many discoveries, causing the first domesticated animals (including a cave lion), being one of the first to realise the fact that sex means babies, the first to light fires from striking flint. Etc, etc. I also found the lack of communication between her and the main chappie simply ridiculous.

I've read the first couple of books and liked them. The last one I read Mammoth Hunters(?) was booring though. The missunderstanding between the man and the woman didn't make any sense and seemed to drag on forever.
