This is my favorite dagger and i have of yet to find it in BGII...is it even in the awesome sequel? if it isnt, why? it is a dagger +2 that does 1 damage a second for 15 seconds unless a save v. death is made.

i love playing a half thief and this weapon is a compliment and an awesome mage killer. Has anyone else been missing this amazing dagger?

Edit: I am moving up in the ranks now! But wait...is my goblin standing...on his tippy toes?

The Pixie Prick one is good too, causing anyone hit to save vs poison or fall asleep for 2 rounds!

thank you ios. i dont like to cheat and i despise editors but i have been doing the drop item trick at the begining of the game to keep all my good stuff from the first game.

What drop items trick?

well shrike, when you hear the first scream or whatever, thats when you lose all of your items. so, if you hit the pause (or "i" for inventory) button right when the loading is complete, you can go to your inventory and drop all of your stuff on the ground and then let the game run. after the cutscene, you just pick all of your stuff back up.

this works best if you export your character from the first game with all the neat stuff you want to take to the second game. for instance, i would take the full plate +1 for minsc and later to sell.

works with all items that can be removed i have found. so those spiffy cursed items cant go with you...

To get the dagger: (very brief expo to stop spoiling!)

Go and speak with Unger Hilldark in the Copper Corenet. You have to be skillful to butter him up but you should get a quest to find a guy called Neb.

Go to derilict house in the bridge district and kill him whatever. If you have Minsc and Jaheira in your group then they will instantly recognise him as a murderer (might work with other npc's ......don't know).
He has the dagger on him. Take his body to the council building to get a big reward.

That isn't the same dagger, it's for evil characters only :(

Well tough cos it is the only poison dagger in the game! Apart from the throwing knives.

Dagger of Venom cannot be found via normal means in BG2. Only if you create it from the console. Bioware only knows why. It was one of my favourite BG1 weapons. To think of all the lame items they brought back from BG1, but not this...

so what youre saying is that if i run around pick pocketing everybody i see there is a chance i might find it? Beware! Halfling coming to town!

Not as far as I know. But then again pickpocketing Garrick was the last thing on my mind when I saw him again. Someone try it to see if he really has it.

There is no creature that holds Dagger of Venom in inventory. Also there is no container with it inside. So, the only way to get it is to cheat.

If you don't believe, search for Dagger of Venom code (MISC75) thru files in folders DATA and OVERRIDE.

A note: this is based on not installed bonusCD files - maybe it is in there - like I care...

Not there either. Such a shame, I didn't use it at first, because the save vs death (everytime I use something which allows a save, it tends to fail) but in my recent game... Well, I love it.

Avooch, next time please read my posts carefully, I'm generally not joking in there.

Ahh, you have bonusCD installed or something else? Then pickpocket all the people in the game if you want to, like I care...

you know Extremist...after i posted that, i realized, there are much better things in the second game anyways, why would i cheat just to keep my dagger? i wont, i have decided that if i am to be Mr. Legit i cant do anything the game didnt mean for me to do.

Thank you Extremist, you have open the door to enlightenment for me...
