As far as I have heard it's amateur at best and isn't supported by the toolset. So should I wait for Bioware to make some more or?

View Full Version : Those new tiles, worth building with? TriLleX The Slayer Mon, 15th Jul '02, 8:49am As far as I have heard it's amateur at best and isn't supported by the toolset. So should I wait for Bioware to make some more or? Errol Mon, 15th Jul '02, 7:37pm Hmm... well IMO, they're not worth it, but if only for personal use. When you give your mod to a friend, they will have to have the same HakPak Tileset as your mod does, and this can lead to confusion with different versions. So my advice, only use them for mods only you are going to play. Frog Tue, 16th Jul '02, 5:33am Or when you give the module to your friend, also give him the hakpak. Crawl Wed, 17th Jul '02, 6:09am I don't know. If they're anything like the ones I downloaded for the beta toolset (or hopefully, even better) I'd say they're worth it if the landscape you want isn't available. I wouldn't put my defining work into a module using custom tiles now mind you, but it can be quite nice to use something different. Erran Wed, 17th Jul '02, 9:06am One bug they have is they lack 'edge continuity'. When reach an edge and look beyond, with the original tiles you see a repeat of the one you are on. With the new ones you see nothing. Voltric Wed, 17th Jul '02, 1:35pm Is it just me or can you only run one custom tileset at a time. |
