I'm trying to make a module for one of my friend, and I want to set it in the desert, but I want to start the quest next to a ship wreck.

I want the player to start by the sea and make their way into the desert, for adverture, etc. But the Desert Terrain type won't let me have water in any other form apart from an Oasis...

My question is, is there any way in which I can give my desert a coastline? (ie. take the Water Terrain from one set and put it into the desert one).

Thanks

What you could do is use the new official hak containing the tropical tileset, which has beach and sea terrain. Then just have an area transition to the desert.

Alternatively, I know there are a few tilesets on the vault that allow both desert and water tiles in the same area. Can't remember there names right now, sorry, but I can tell you they're out there.

The CEP also has placeables to represent water(under park-> nature). If I recall correctly, the desert has 'pit' tiles. By placing pits, and then placing the 'water' placeables over them, you might create the enviroment you need.

Just tested, and it does work. Very cunning. You have to target the water placeable on the inside edge of the pit to get it to the level you want.

Well, this comes a bit late but you could have accomplished the same without CEP with a little bit of scripting. IMO, it would look much better than the water placeables (limited size, etc).
