This bragging about spam is getting out of hand. That's all some of you can post about lately. Spam about spam. Really. I liked it better when people were smart spammers and didn't go around wearing neon lights and banners saying, "Look at me, I'm a spammer!" They were more subtle about it. Take a hint and tone it down.

There is more to life than your postcount at SP (at least I hope so). Both this forum and Whatnots have been filled with a lot of spam-motivated threads, and as one of the senior users here it makes me sad.

Seriously, it is rather sad that we spam about spam, spam should be like thieving, trying not to be caught and been a little bit secret, not openly declaring that you are a spammer

I voted for 8People on this, because she pumps out the most useless posts I have ever seen on these boards. :)

And I feel that apart from Z-Layrex recently, all other memebers listed there are members who contribute to their post counts fairly, and although yes, Headbanger has 3000+ posts, most are informative and good.

The recent 'I spam more than you spam!' trend growing on Sorcerer's Place is slightly disturbing, with some Junior (and senior, mind) using the numerous 'Spam Topics' for simply increasing their post-count.
I'm glad my name is not on that list because, frankly, I wouldn't want to be. I pride myself in trying to post well, and help others who'se questions I can answer; mainly to do with the Toolset/Editors amongst others. The point is, that some new members may look at your post count, and say; "Oh, this person is obviously helping a lot of people, answering lots of good questions." may get the wrong impression, and all you have done to deserve 'this' new avatar or 'that' new gem, is simply waste bandwidth on people's computers.

Don't get me wrong here, I don't wish to insult anyone, but I simply do not see how you can be proud of posting lots of pointless posts. And I simply felt this needed to be said.
I have gotten to the point where I do not open 75% of the topics in Whatnots, because most are simply spam-fests, and that is not the reason I am here. Go to a chatroom if all you want to do is babble.

I'm sorry if anyone takes this the wrong way, but it needed to be said. Flame me in PM if you so feel the need to.

Gopher, you... you... person who has a very good point. This made me think, and I feel ashamed of myself. I have participated in this... this... mindless spamming spree! There was a time when the SP spam was as hifgh quality as anything else here... time subtlty, guile, wit... Where has it all gone? This spam we see these days... it's spam in the truest form. Spam is something no one wants to read... do we want to read these little gremlin-filled one-liners?

I have seen the error of my ways, I think... I no longer spam mindlessly. It's time to return to the shadows.

And I need not to remind you I don't speak English fondly, my left hand was almost severed a couple of months ago, I was fired because of this (even the ******* that was my boss and provoked the accident was blaming me while I was in the Hospital)!
