I was just wondering here, has anyone made it all the way up from Turquoise to Rogue Stone? It seems to me that everyone with a large amount of posts has an avatar, so they either lose the stone thing, or it just isn't posted. Perhaps when they reach Rogue Stone they get some sort of illumination, or enlightenment, and rise to a higher form of life where posting on SP isn't necessary to be entertained.

I believe Marnix (Headbanger) was the only one to manage this incredible feat thus far.

No, don't think so. I think he got his avatar just before he reached it. The gems anoyed him that much...

73,52 - 5 months = 68,52 (Only part I didnt need calc for)

68,52 = 5,71 years

Meaning: I´ll stick around for a while

Marnix has a portrait already. And sure, you can contribute to SP and keep your gemness. It's not like it's required to take an avatar/portrait.

Shell, if that was put in place an absolutely huge number of members would disappear. For example someone (new person) who wants to just ask one question (and has done all the searches and can't find it) will be registering and suddenly struck by the 'radio boxes of ways to pay' or some such name. Then even if he/she does decide it's a very important question that they really need the answer to they're going to have to wait around till the payment is cleared/recieved/confirmed. Slow and would put a hell of a lot of people off the site.

Unless you've got a large fanbase that's bound to your site, that's a perfectly good way to kill off a perfectly good site.

Not going to happen, so it's a non-issue. You can't force people to pay for anything on the Internet. They'll just go somewhere else.

Actually you can check out your gem in the directory. I checked out Tal's gem though. There's none. It's his avatar. :D

As for paying to get in, I frequented a really good BG2 site for a while because it had some kick buttinsky data on it. Then the guy who ran it started charging! So I went elsewhere. I have a family to feed and rent to pay. One day, I will send Tal some $, but there's no way I could pay a steady fee -- I have a tough time making my car payments!

When I get my credit card of my mother and all my money back I'll donate to SP :thumb:

paying would create a bit of a probblem for me, as im only 16. I dont think i can get a credit card till im 18, and even then, im not going to commit myself to something i cant pay for. Im jobless. Just gonna have to do something worthwhile to nab an avatar, like create a file or somesuch.
