Lady Luthien Wed, 21st Apr '04, 7:49pm I may be forced to leave SP for a while...
If things don't improve, I shall have to go to hospital to put on weight for an undetermined amount of time. :(
Anway, sniffy sniff, I hope someone will be able to lend me a computer or something...
Nocturnal Nomad Wed, 21st Apr '04, 8:22pm awww :(
Hope you'll get better soon!
/me gives the lady a hug
Hacken Slash Wed, 21st Apr '04, 8:59pm I hope you get well and can stay around.
Hmmm, are there McDonalds in Paris?
Wordplay Wed, 21st Apr '04, 9:01pm I shall have to go to hospital to put on weight for an undetermined amount of time You "may be" forced to leave, but when? Was this somekind of an warning before the actual "I'm leaving" -thread? :p Put on weight? Start eating better ;)
Jaguar Wed, 21st Apr '04, 9:05pm And here I am trying to lose some weight. Makes me feel kind of bad.
Try my eating routine. Eat your 10 square meals a day, but no vegetables, unless they are deep fried.
But if you do leave, you will be missed.
Rednik Wed, 21st Apr '04, 9:15pm Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure some bright sunsets are on the horizon.
On the plus side, a diet of McDonalds can give you 25 pounds in a month. I saw it in a documentary(Super Size Me).
@Jaguar, yeah, that's pretty much my diet too, but I have a damn fast metabolism. I can't get enough of my deep fried veggies. I can feel my arteries clogging.
Barmy Army Wed, 21st Apr '04, 9:27pm I thought this was going to be a thread on lines when I saw the title :( .
Get well soon Luthien! :)
Harkle Wed, 21st Apr '04, 9:39pm Try to be positive. I know it's hard, but it helps. :)
See you soon.
Faerus Stoneslammer Wed, 21st Apr '04, 9:53pm Dear Lady, let's hope you get better before you have to go to the hospital.
As Jag said: if you are forced to leave, you will be greatly missed
Talk to you soon Lady...Stoneslammer's got some hammering to do... ;)
Here's to your health improving!
/me downs a shot. And another for quicker results ;) .
Pac man Wed, 21st Apr '04, 10:42pm Au revoir, i hope you're well again soon.
Dendri Wed, 21st Apr '04, 11:00pm Sorry to hear this. :(
Be fine and do return.
Register Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 1:03am Sorry to hear that, Lady.
However, how much do you weight and how long are you? In metric terms please. :D
Chandos the Red Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 3:53am Sorry to hear that you are leaving Lady L., but get well soon, and rejoin us when you can.
Lady Luthien Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 7:33am Hi again and thank you everyone.
As Virne said, yes this is not definite yet, they are leaving me a week to see if I improve on my own.
Unfortunately, it's a very hard thing for me to do so I'm just being realistic with this.
@Caleb
I now weight 42.3 kg for 1m67. I've never considered myself overly skinny but it's true I wasn't always like that... I've dropped about 5kgs in the past week and a half so I guess that's a lot.
Oxymore Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 9:38am Get better soon. :(
Sir Ai Rayzor Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 1:17pm I hope you get better too :(
Wordplay Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 2:06pm 5 kg in a week? Those who are on diet can only *dream* of losing that much in a *month.* I'm 55-60 kg for ~175 cm and considered slim, so you'd better get at least 10 kg more ASAP.
Have your parents make you 3 meals in a day with lots of butter in it ;)
Rallymama Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 3:05pm Surely in PARIS there are a few patisseries that would make for a much more enjoyable weight-gaining experience than McDonald's? :D
Best of luck to you, Lady, and I hope that you manage to avoid the hospital.
/me sends LL all the appetite I haven't had because of being pregnant
Splunge Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 3:42pm Well, the first thing you should do is stop listening to your ballet instructor on how to lose weight. :D
Anyway, good luck, and hope you're back soon. :)
Register Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 4:01pm That is not too low, considering that you are a girl. I am a guy that is 170 long and only weights 47 kilos, not too much difference.
Vyndin Source Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 4:15pm I thought this was going to be a thread on lines when I saw the title :( . You don't want to know what I thought it would be... :D
I'm a guy with 0.107 tons of bone, fat and muscle, and I'm 182 or some such.
Well, you know what they say. Muscle weigh more than fat... ;) :p :D
Lady Luthien Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 7:08pm Surely in PARIS there are a few patisseries that would make for a much more enjoyable weight-gaining experience than McDonald's? Sure they are, and I like to have a small eclair or something once in a while.. The lowdown is that I feel incredibly guilty afterwards. :sosad:
No actually, eating isn't something I really like as a process...
Anyway, Caleb, I agree with you. I do believe my weight is fine though no one here seems to think so, which is causing me all sorts of problems. I've been trying to reach 40kgs and been doing fine until these guys come along telling me I have to get fat :whoa: .
I'll never understand doctors anyway :(
Tarrasque Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 7:20pm Unfortunately, I would have to disagree with Caleb. 42.3kilos and 167cm height gives a BMI of 15.2. BMI is a relatively rough measurement but a BMI range of 20-25 is considered a 'normal healthy' weight.
Regardless I sincerely hope that you get better soon, Lady Luthien.
BigStick Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 7:37pm Get well soon, young Lady. :aww: Try to lay off the excercise for a few days.
I wish I could lose a little more. I've been working at getting down to about 93kg for almost 9 months now. 5 more to go, this week. :)
/me gives LL the extra 11 lbs (5kg) hanging around his middle section.
The Great Snook Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 8:54pm The general consensus among the women in my office is that 5' 6" and 93.25 pounds is not healthy.
Splunge Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 9:26pm More on Body Mass Index (BMI) here (http://www.cbc.ca/news/bigpicture/obesity/bmi.html) (coincidentally, msn.ca has a link to this site today).
Underweight are those with a BMI less than 18.5, which also poses a health risk Lady Luthien, even though you are still a teenager, I'd say you are definitely too thin with a BMI of 15.2. And ignore what Caleb says; I'm about the same height as him, and when I was his age, I was about 8kgs heavier, and was one of the thinnest guys at school.
Hacken Slash Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 11:40pm @LL
Sounds to me like the problem isn't what you eat, how much you eat, or even what you weigh.
Sounds like the problem is how you feel about yourself when you do eat.
Get Well Soon.
Sarevok• Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 11:57pm How or why did you lose that much weight in such a short time anyway?
Register Thu, 22nd Apr '04, 11:59pm Heh, Splunge, you must've been into a very big( :p ) school or been very shortfor your age. I am not even close to being the thinnest guy in school. Also, I am only a few months older that LL, so being a teenager doesn't explain it ethier.
The bad news with being this small is that I have also been losing my hair much faster than other people. If I don't gain weight soon, I will be balled when I am 23-25. :D
Sarevok• Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 12:06am Hey, women love bald men you know.
Splunge Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 12:08am Well, maybe Swedes are generally thinner than North Americans (and I comparing to North Americans of 30 years ago, not today's fatties. :p )
I will be balled when I am 23-25. Are you intentionally trying to tempt me to heap abuse upon you? :p :p
Edit: but you might have something there; I am severely follically challenged myself.
Faerus Stoneslammer Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 12:41am I'm pretty sure size has absolutely nothing to do with baldnes. My big brother's 6'1, and about 315 lbs (so, err 183 cm and 143 kg) and he's going bald (he's 21 now, but he started losing his hair when he was about 17-18).
But, back on topic...I think Hacken Slash is onto something there Lady...listen to his words of wisdom (if mine don't suffice). As well as the opinions of the ladies at The Great Snook's office...
Later Lady. Please get better. :(
Register Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 3:00am Splunge, I didn't know how bald was spelled, so I just took the best spelling I could make up. Also, it is 03.00 in the morning here, I am too tired to think, I think. :D
Faerus, it is not size, but the fact that I only eat 4-5 times per week that is the reason that I will not have any hair and be balled when I am 23-25.
Also, my BMI is 16.2, for the record, so that may be a bit low.
Splunge Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 3:06am @ Caleb - I know, I shouldn't poke fun at people whose first language isn't English. But you have this tendancy to choose exactly the wrong words in certain situations (like saying how "long" you are, instead of "tall" :p ), and me being the idiot I am, I find it hard to resist taking a shot. :D
On topic - HS, you said it very well.
Faerus Stoneslammer Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 11:51am UPDATE: Lady Luthien has agreed to admit herself to hospital today, April 23. She will be treated for a (severe) case of anorexia nerviosa. Unfortunately, it will likely be some time before any estimate as to the amount of time she'll be staying in hospital can be made.
I'll post more updates as they come to me, either from her or her friends.
If you're the praying type, I ask that you keep the good Lady in your prayers.
Dendri Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 2:42pm This is so serious.
My best wishes to you, Luthien. I really hope you find way out of this.
Splunge Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 3:38pm Hopefully you get the help you need, Lady Luthien.
BigStick Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 4:24pm Good for her! It seemed pretty apparent that she had a problem. Now she can get the real help that she so needs.
Best wishes to you Lady Luthien. Admitting that it is a problem and needs to be treated is the first step in becoming healthy once more.
Wordplay Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 4:41pm I'll offer her an extra hamburger once she gets back -with all the extras and sauces :D
(Hopefully it's "just" some attitude problem -not fysiological)
Tarrasque Fri, 23rd Apr '04, 4:54pm I'm not really the praying sort, but in this case, I
think I am willing to make an exception.
My prayers go out to both Lady Luthien and her family.
I sincerely hope she recovers soon and the French health service doesn't just consider an anorexic at the correct weight to be cured, but is willing to treat the psychological problems behind the low weight.
Not sure what else to say behind a repeat of I hope she recovers soon.
chevalier Sat, 24th Apr '04, 1:30am Hope everything will be fine. God be with you.
Faerus Stoneslammer Sun, 25th Apr '04, 8:22pm UPDATE: I'm sorry to say things aren't looking good for the good Lady. Her body has entered a terminal state (ie: She's dying), because her stomach has forgot/lost the ability to process food. She's currently being fed intravenously (I think that's the word).
The hospital is almost a prison to her now: her parents can visit her twice a week, and one of her friends can visit for a 1/2 hour a week (I think, it might be daily but I don't think so: and Luthien didn't say).
I wish the news was better, but unfortunately this is how it is. For now. I continue to hold out hope for the Lady, and I pray that the rest of you do as well. There's nothing any of us can do now but hope and pray...and maybe let Lady Luthien know just how much she means to us.
I renew my call for prayers for Lady Luthien (in case you want to know, her real name is Masha). Please keep her in your prayers.
Dragonfly Sun, 25th Apr '04, 8:36pm God be with you Masha. Be strong even though you may feel weak. Fight for your life.

Xei Win Toh Sun, 25th Apr '04, 8:52pm Ouch! My best wishes to her.
Splunge Sun, 25th Apr '04, 9:14pm Masha, I don't know how to pray, but my thoughts and hopes are with you.
I'm actually a bit surprised at the emotions this is stirring up in me as I type this. For what it's worth coming from a non-believer - Godspeed.
Dendri Sun, 25th Apr '04, 10:44pm I am shocked to read this! Its terrible. I dont know what to say.
(Dont we intrude a little too much on her private life here?)
As for the prayers - I dont have any. :( I dont pray. But if there is a higher force I hope it wont let something even worse happen to her.
Chandos the Red Sun, 25th Apr '04, 11:25pm All our thoughts and prayers are with you, Lady Luthien.
Hacken Slash Sun, 25th Apr '04, 11:41pm Been a while since I checked in on this thread and had no idea how serious it had become.
As has already been said, Lady, you are the intention of many prayers of many people.
Takara Mon, 26th Apr '04, 12:30am I don't think I can add anything not already expressed. I'm shocked to hear how things are going, but my thoughts are with you Lady. I hope that you recover and start posting again in full health.
Mithrantir Mon, 26th Apr '04, 1:24am It is so sad to see a young flower die, so i can only pray that Lady will rise from the bed of pain to prove to us all, that she is stronger than anyone may ever think.
I really hope this can happen really soon. It is really sad to see young people fade out. :(
Rolsuk Fryulee Mon, 26th Apr '04, 3:05am :( My prayers are with you good Lady. Get better. Fight with all your heart and may the good Lord be with you in your struggle. May our strength add to yours.
Wordplay Mon, 26th Apr '04, 1:19pm Bugger. She'll most likely end up like Tobias: dead. (Anyone still remembering him?)
My consolidations.
Apeman Mon, 26th Apr '04, 5:52pm Aren't you jumping the gun a little bit Virne, we need happy thoughts, not depressing ones.
Wordplay Mon, 26th Apr '04, 6:15pm *Thinks My Happy Ponies and Teletubbies*
There, better?
(C'mon, she'll be fine anyway. ;) )
Laiwethel Mon, 26th Apr '04, 8:56pm My thoughts and prayers go with you, Lady Luthien. Best of luck.
Djieff Mon, 26th Apr '04, 9:41pm Bonne chance, jeune Dame Luthien. Prenez soin de vous et laissez aussi les autres prendre soin de vous!
Faerus Stoneslammer Tue, 27th Apr '04, 9:40am UPDATE: Alright, Lady Luthien says she's doing better. She'd like to thank all of you for the support you've shown. She's started on the road to recovery, which is most definitely a good sign.
(And in case anyone's wondering, Lady Luthien clears these updates before I post them).
Nocturnal Nomad Tue, 27th Apr '04, 6:28pm Glad to hear that, hope to see you again soon, Lady :)
Wordplay Tue, 27th Apr '04, 7:48pm Good, then I don't need to offer that hamburger -can't stand having just skin and bones near me. :p
Oxymore Tue, 27th Apr '04, 9:39pm Now, that's good news! :)
Dendri Tue, 27th Apr '04, 9:43pm Good news indeed. :) Anything else would have been unthinkable.
Jaguar Wed, 28th Apr '04, 11:08am Phew, that's a relief. I thought I'd have to drop my happy demeanor for a bit.
@Virne
Be more considerate. Some of us out here might want that hamburger.
Wordplay Wed, 28th Apr '04, 2:32pm @ Jaguar
Why would anyone want Luthien's hamburger? It's just all meat and sauce and stuffings and... Okay, I'm hungry now. But you won't get it, no matter how hard you ask. :shake:
BigStick Wed, 28th Apr '04, 3:41pm Great news! You go girl! :D
Dragonfly Wed, 28th Apr '04, 9:36pm I glad to hear you're doing a little better Lady Luthian. Just please don't fall back into the same trap again. Make sure you get the help you need.
Splunge Wed, 28th Apr '04, 10:14pm And at the risk of giving unwanted or unneeded advice, you might want to consider staying away from ballet. The only thing worse than that for encouraging anorexia is modelling.
Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're doing better. :)
Faerus Stoneslammer Sat, 1st May '04, 8:44am UPDATE: Lady Luthien says "Hi". Apart from that, I don't have too much news to add. She wants you all to know that she's doing fine. Although her treatment's hit a few snags...it's still coming along ("Slow and steady wins the race", and all that).
And that's all for this update. Good news, I guess; but I'm sorry there's not more. Just keep checking (and well, errm...and posting in, so that I can add updates :p ) this thread.
Wordplay Sat, 1st May '04, 2:02pm Eh... okay. When is our celebrity going to pose in the Sun? I can already see the HUGE headlines:
"Famous doctor's SECRET romance!!1" :p
SleepleSS Sat, 1st May '04, 10:28pm I wish all the best to Lady Lulu and hope to hear from her soon. We can't live withoud your Poetry!
*Hug*
Spellbound Sun, 2nd May '04, 4:51am Well, I debated on whether to post this, but here goes....
We all, of course, wish LL a speedy recovery and are very glad she is doing so well, but doesn't it seem odd that someone's personal illness is being played out on a pubic board, for weeks and now for what seems like many more to come? At the risk of seeming heartless (which I'm not), it just strikes me as bizarre that someone would want these "UPDATES" to continue, when the serious crisis is past and they are on the road to recovery. Just my opinion....and I'm sure it's not the popular one here...but it all just seems really weird to me.
Falstaff Sun, 2nd May '04, 5:06am Spelly, I agree.
I don't want to seem heartless either, but I also find it odd that someone would post such personal problems on a board like this - much less through someone else. I know that this is a very tight community, but it usually takes a while for someone to latch onto strongly, and even longer before someone would be willing to openly post such a serious and personal problem here.
I also find it a bit strange that someone can be suddenly and so surprisingly hospitalized for a serous case of anorexia nerviosa, go terminal shortly afterwards, and then, in a matter of days, miraculously recover. It may be the truth, but I find it all a bit... rapidfire.
We've had such things occur here in the past (without naming names) and had many many feelings hurt by those occurrences. I certainly hope that this is as serious as it is said to be, because jokes like that are cruel, and seldom funny to those on whom the joke has been played.
Splunge Sun, 2nd May '04, 5:01pm I have to admit the same thing has crossed my mind, given the past event I assume Falstaff is referring to (and I know Spelly is aware of it too). But I just decided to take it at face value, and wish Lady the best. She and Faerus don't strike me as being the kind of people to be kidding around here, and if they are, well, ultimately it's their loss, not ours.
Lady Luthien Wed, 5th May '04, 6:16am I have not been here for a while so I just recently learned how out of hand this topic has gotten.
I just wished to apologize for the disturbance i have created (and of which I assume full responsibility).
I am still in hospital but doing fine so there is no need for anyone to worry about me.
Once again, I am sorry to have cluttered these boards with my personal problems which I had absolutely now right to do. Nonetheless I thank you dearly for your support.
I cannot say when I will be back, it depends on a lot of things, but I sincerely wish you all the best.
Register Wed, 5th May '04, 10:37am Once again, I am sorry to have cluttered these boards with my personal problems which I had absolutely now right to doI do not think that you should be sorry, at all. After all, if they didn't wanna care about it, they didn't need to.
Wordplay Wed, 5th May '04, 12:49pm This thread is still open, isn't it? No harm done then. ;)
Aldeth the Foppish Idiot Wed, 5th May '04, 5:44pm Now that the seriousness of the thread has passed, I feel I can post this from Spelly:
pubic board What exactly would that be?
Meatdog Wed, 5th May '04, 9:32pm Well, lady, you shouldn't apologise for putting your problems on here. The reasons for some comments in the last posts above you is that they don't understand why you felt the need to put your problems on here since they wouldn't have started a thread over it. But if you prefer to use that way to inform the community, by all means, go ahead. Every personality is unique and it would be boring otherwise :D
btw, I know that last sentence was very cliche but couldn't help myself :p ;) :D
Splunge Wed, 5th May '04, 9:57pm Actually, the main reason for my last comments (and I assume Spellbound's and Falstaff's as well) is that, a few months back, there was a very similar thread which turned out to be a hoax (don't ask for more details, because Tal made it very clear at the time that further discussion of specifics was not permitted). Due to the closeness of the SP community, people felt a certain amount of betrayal. So now similar threads are viewed with some degree of skepticism by those people who were aware of the hoax .
Anyway, Lady, I'm glad you're feeling better. Please don't think that we don't care, because we do. It's unfortunate that the past actions of a couple of jerks playing a sick joke ends up tainting a thread such as this one which presumably is legitimate.

Spellbound Wed, 5th May '04, 11:31pm Aldeth -- Splunge summed it up. Nuff said.
Falstaff Thu, 6th May '04, 2:04am Ditto Splunge and Ditto Spelly.
Splunge Thu, 6th May '04, 3:18am @ Spellbound (& Falstaff) - well, now that we've cleared up what our misgivings were all about (ie. actually nothing to do with Lady Luthien and her condition), I think what Aldeth was getting at was a light-hearted jab at Spelly's omission of the letter 'l' in 'public' ;) :p (which I hadn't actually noticed until just now :D )
Edit: 1,400 spams and counting. :D
Spellbound Thu, 6th May '04, 4:07am God, that begs a comment but I'll refrain. :D
Hacken Slash Thu, 6th May '04, 8:01am You all need to keep in perspective where the mind of a typical SP poster resides, then look at the objections they raise ;)
Off subject...Splunge...way to go, man! Do you remember all of them?
When I hit 1000, we'll have a kegger.
And just to keep this post on topic...Lady, please consider what I said in the early stages of this thread Sounds to me like the problem isn't what you eat, how much you eat, or even what you weigh.
Sounds like the problem is how you feel about yourself when you do eat.
Get well soon...this place isn't going anywhere :p
SleepleSS Thu, 6th May '04, 11:09am I'm glad It's going better with you! Keep it up!
Meatdog Thu, 6th May '04, 12:08pm Well, after all the time this topic exists, I still can't get how you can feel guilty about eating  Well, if you're interested, you can have some of my appetite, I seem to have it in abundance :D And, btw, glad to hear you're better, just make sure you keep improving ;)
Aldeth the Foppish Idiot Thu, 6th May '04, 4:53pm Thanks Splunge, that's what I was getting at - it was just a joke, and I thought my comment regarding "now that the seriousness of this thread has passed" would indicate I was making a joke. I never would have posted something like that if Lady's health was still in question.
Anyway, yes, at least someone got it.
