View Full Version : The SP empire reaches 7000 Harbourboy Thu, 15th Jul '04, 10:05pm Congratulations to the SP empire gaining its 7000th member! Nizidramanii'yt Thu, 15th Jul '04, 10:13pm Ah, what a miracle growth. I wonder who it is? He/She should get a 7000th member honorary gift or something. Someone may have a spare copy of Pool of Radiance or something. Anyhow, it's great to see this community (or empire) grow. Up to 10000! Death Rabbit Thu, 15th Jul '04, 10:17pm 6500 of whom will never make a single post. Woot. :thumb: ArtEChoke Thu, 15th Jul '04, 10:25pm 6950 of them who will never enter the chat room. Harbourboy Thu, 15th Jul '04, 10:33pm The number of members who have never posted at all is actually about 1900. Death Rabbit Thu, 15th Jul '04, 10:36pm The number of people named "Harbourboy" who ruined my joke: 1. :shame: ;) Harbourboy Thu, 15th Jul '04, 10:41pm The numbers never lie. :p Hugo Thu, 15th Jul '04, 11:08pm It's cool that we're growing. Where did you get those numbers? SP is biiig and getting bigger; simply because It Rocks Your @ss Off. :borg: Wiegraf Folles Thu, 15th Jul '04, 11:33pm If you go by member number, #7000 is Klim'En Zaur. but i think we have around 7100 members now (at least thats the highest number i saw) Harbourboy Thu, 15th Jul '04, 11:59pm I think there must have been some members deleted hence the disparity between member number and number of members. For example, there is no member #1 (he vanished under mysterious circumstances). Wordplay Fri, 16th Jul '04, 12:07am Hooray for all people with even hundreds. Now, if ms. and mr. 1000, 2000, 3000, and so on, would post, I'm sure we all would feel a bit better. ;) Btw, 7000 is nothing yet; wait till it reaches something like 27 000... like one, other board... and we can start talking. Harbourboy Fri, 16th Jul '04, 1:04am SP is too exclusive to want to reach 27,000. There aren't that many people in the world with the required standards of intelligence and refined taste. Bion Fri, 16th Jul '04, 3:34am Just looked to see whether anyone had taken advantage of having one of the trophy member numbers. Apparently not: Member #100 (Ommelan) had 1 (one) post, while Member #1000 (St Genem) had 4 (four). Strangely, Member #666 (BottomFeeder) had 0 (zero) posts, and what's more, identified him/herself as an attorney from California! BottomFeeder is clearly the  of SP! And you're right; there is no Member #1. Perhaps someone should ask Member #2 (Tal): Tal: "I am Number 2." The Prisoner: "Who is Number 1?" Tal: "You are Number 6." The Prisoner: "I am not a number; I am a free man!" Tal: BWAHAHAHAHAHA..... But looking through the member lists, Member #110 (Sir Belisarius) seems exceptionally well numbered. Bravo! Jaguar Fri, 16th Jul '04, 3:43am Okay, if we just hit number 7000, then what the hell is this (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_profile;u=00007100)?   So 7100 is replacing 7000 now? Apparently the numbers (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=directory) are a little different (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi). Harbourboy Fri, 16th Jul '04, 3:54am Jaguar - did you even read the previous few posts? To repeat: there are some member numbers missing, such as #1 and #5 and 98 others. Jaguar Fri, 16th Jul '04, 4:11am I read them, but I assumed that the numbers weren't actually removed, just closed. I guess I just made an a$$ of you and me. (Get it, ass-u-me) Ah well, ... HORRAY SP!!! :D Bahir the Red Fri, 16th Jul '04, 9:41am Maybe they skip numbers in order to make it look like there are more members (like one little german political party with an imfamus member once did) [will you send bots to kill me now?] Aikanaro Fri, 16th Jul '04, 9:51am Anyone who doesn't know why there's no member #1 by now should be shot... Hell, isn't it in the FAQ? Apeman Fri, 16th Jul '04, 10:10am We actually had the same discussion when we hit 6000 ;) Ancalìmon Fri, 16th Jul '04, 11:32am And when we hit 5000, too. Uytuun Fri, 16th Jul '04, 11:51am Go SP! :D I wonder when we'll be big enough to take over the Internet.. ;) Taluntain Fri, 16th Jul '04, 1:19pm The front page count lists the actual number of usable profiles right now, whereas the member numbers don't go back (obviously, that'd be a mess) whenever an account is deleted or otherwise lost. Which some people here have figured out already. Volsung Fri, 16th Jul '04, 1:36pm Well done SP!!! But a questions still remains unanswered... where are all these members? Dark Haired Beauty Fri, 16th Jul '04, 2:19pm 7000 members strong! "I am one with the collective" :borg: Wordplay Fri, 16th Jul '04, 2:28pm For now; after the summer-break is over, I bet you find something better to do, though. ;) (Or maybe you think SP isn't really good place after all, who knows.) Dark Haired Beauty Fri, 16th Jul '04, 2:54pm Thanks Wirhe. You may sheathe your short sword of sarcasm now. Wordplay Fri, 16th Jul '04, 3:54pm I can't... it's permanently stuck to this position. <--- See? Mollusken Fri, 16th Jul '04, 9:28pm For now; after the summer-break is over, I bet you find something better to do, though. [Wink] (Or maybe you think SP isn't really good place after all, who knows.)Member number 306, and I'll soon have spent 4 years on these boards. Nizidramanii'yt Sat, 17th Jul '04, 2:38pm Member #1 will probably have died of old age, since the forum is already a few years old. I hope Tal's not next. ;) Mollusken Sat, 17th Jul '04, 5:41pm There was no real member number 1. IIRC, member number one was for administrative use when the forum was created. Jaguar Sat, 17th Jul '04, 8:19pm So Tal replaced the administration? Way to go Tal! Stick it to the man! :grr: We will see 8000 members, by god!! Sydax Mon, 19th Jul '04, 5:01pm Quote ----------------------------------------------- 6950 of them who will never enter the chat room ----------------------------------------------- I usually get in there but never seem to be any one... maybe is the hour (8:00 to 10:00 am in Argentina) Ancient Galatan Tue, 20th Jul '04, 8:37pm Well, that are alot of members, that means that this is one of the best AD&D site there is, and people i know who play the Forgotten Realms series keep asking me the link of the site, so that means alot. Keep on posting and putting information on the site boys!!! |
