I'm going to a Scout camp next Friday (23/7) in Holland. I'll be there for there 19 days.
We're group of about 55 Scouts from Greece. We will go to Holland for the National Jamboree that takes place there, in Boxtel.

As for the very immediate future, I'll be in a 2-days trip. I'll be back in Sunday. During the four days left between the trip and the camp, I will have access to computer only once or twice. That's why I post this thread now and not later.

I'll not say goodbye now. I save it for another time.

Hey boxtel, that's a 20 minute drive from where I live. If you ever come to Oisterwijk it's to west of Boxtel let me know.

Hope you have a nice time. The weather's not been great for quite a while. Hope you can bring it with you, along with feta and beautiful women, of course.

My home sticks to the border of the Dutch. But I don't know a hell of alot about the 'anatomy' of the Dutch kingdom so...

Anywayz, enjoy the weather. Right now it's hot hot hot... (at least by Benelux standards).

And have fun.

Where lies Boxtel again? I'm from Holland to, literally on the border with Germany, near the city of Enschede (firework disaster, anyone?)
Holland, the land of beer and weet.

Erm, what is "clog"?

A clog is a really uncomfortable looking wooden shoe which was supposedly invented in Holland. It was a precursor to the steel capped boot because if your dropped your hammer on your foot whilst wearing your clogs you wouldn't end up with a broken toe.

Wooden shoes/clogs are mostly used in the Netherlands for putting plants in for your backyard... not many people can/want to walk in those damn things. Especially older people do.

@TS: have a nice time in our "kikkerland". :)

Kikkerland? hehe, that reminds me. Someone called us Froggs (Kikkers) on Clogs.

Yeah, Kikkerland. Holland is much reffered to by the Dutch as "ons kleine kikkerland". This literally means "our little frogland". Sound silly for non-Dutch, I know. You can think of it as "there's no place like home/Holland".

Teehee, I always thought that referring to Holland as kikkerland was indicating once annoyance with the wet and chilly weather so common 'ere.

On the Frogland comments:
It was a french king that called the Netherlands 'Frogland'. Can't remember which one though. I thought Le Roi Soleil - Sunking, Louis XIV.
FYI.
