Enagonios Sat, 23rd Jul '05, 10:45am Right, I know there have been similar polls but afaik there hasn't been one that merely asked for which continent SPers come from. I'll start. I'm from Asia.

kuemper Sat, 23rd Jul '05, 3:48pm I live in Newfoundland, Canada. It's that semi-big, triangularish island NE of Maine. Originally, from Iowa, USA. No wonder we have a lot in common, Fel. One of my 'hometown boys' played for the Packers when they won the Superbowl. <dr. evil> How *convinient*. </dr. evil>
:borg: Memory faulty. Gimme a sec to Google for his name.
Thanks to my trustworth hubby who, frankly, has my other half of the memory chip today ;) , Googled and found Bryce Paup, 1996 Defensive Player of the Year. He currently plays for the Buffalo Bills.
Sniper Sat, 23rd Jul '05, 3:56pm I'm from the United Kingdom
Shrikant Sat, 23rd Jul '05, 7:09pm Asia. Guys like Sniper and I are either honest or simply dont bother to draw on our imagination enough to invent new places.
PS: I'd like to know who logs on to SP all the way from Africa and Antartica.
Splunge Sat, 23rd Jul '05, 10:25pm Manitoba, Canada. Alpine skiing, deep-sea fishing, tropical beaches - all in one place. Or at least it would be if we were close to the equator and had nearby mountains and oceans.
Sniper Sat, 23rd Jul '05, 11:13pm Asia. Guys like Sniper and I are either honest or simply dont bother to draw on our imagination enough to invent new places.
Wellllll, I suppose I could give it a try ;)
I come from the land that had the largest Empire in the world at one stage. I also come from the land that invented 'Fish and Chips' and had great people like Winston Churchill. I also come from the land that sent every ship it had in its possession, great and small to rescue the soldiers stranded on Dunkirk (sp) after the Nazi Blitzkrieg into France
Hows that? :)
olimikrig Sat, 23rd Jul '05, 11:43pm I'm from Denmark. If anyone's wondering where in the nine hells this country is, - it's northern Europe, or rather: Scandinavia. If you're still in doubt, it's the country Al-Qaeda got mixed up with Sweden when first threatening the occupiers of Iraq (or was that Afghanistan? Nevermind), e.g. They thought we were Sweden, *tsk tsk*.
We' re the inventors of - well, nothing really. But hey! We were Vikings once, so that'll have to do :D .
Oh, btw. We've got (or had) the worlds largest pork export that might be real reason why Al-Qaeda's so mad with us :p .
Wordplay Sun, 24th Jul '05, 12:17am Europe, Finland. You know: that small country west of Russia, known of Nokia and bad food.
chevalier Sun, 24th Jul '05, 1:08am And kicking some commie ass (Go, Mannerheim!). :p

kuemper Sun, 24th Jul '05, 4:28pm I'm from Denmark. If anyone's wondering where in the nine hells this country is, - it's northern Europe, or rather: Scandinavia. I know all about Denmark. It's the home of Scooby Doo and danishes.
olimikrig Sun, 24th Jul '05, 9:21pm I know all about Denmark. It's the home of Scooby Doo...Then you certainly know more 'bout Denmark than I do.. Home of Scooby Doo?
kuemper Mon, 25th Jul '05, 1:10am Scooby Doo is a Great Dane dog.
Laiwethel Mon, 25th Jul '05, 1:39am Greetings from Ontario, Canada where we are currently experiencing high humidity. Where's that dry heat I came to love in Crete?
Master of Nuhn Mon, 25th Jul '05, 2:46am Hollandistan. Yes, Europe.
Chandos the Red Mon, 25th Jul '05, 2:58am USA - The Woodlands, Texas, - north of Houston. Yes, it's in the middle of a forest, and all the trees helps to shield us from the dirty smog and polluted air of Houston. And that makes me very happy.
Harbourboy Mon, 25th Jul '05, 3:15am Bah. Apparently I come from nowhere because there is no option on this poll to indicate where I am from. What option should people from countries like Papua New Guinea, Fiji, The Maldives, The Seychelles, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Niue, Tonga, Western Samoa, or NEW ZEALAND have to shoe-horn themselves into in order to be able to answer this poll question? :(
Chandos the Red Mon, 25th Jul '05, 3:34am HB - Although it does not appear on the poll, I think that part of the world is known as "Oceania," but that may be an Americanized name for it. :hmm:
Harbourboy Mon, 25th Jul '05, 3:45am Maybe I should put 'Antartica' seeing as there is a section of that continent (the Ross dependency) which is legally under New Zealand's jurisdiction.
Charlie Mon, 25th Jul '05, 6:19am Greetings from Asia!
Ruin Ehwazehs Mon, 25th Jul '05, 6:40am St. Louis!! or rather 2 hour east of St. Louis...just got here from Repulic of Korea a week ago. (don't dare ask north or south, if you do I'm really gonna kick your butt for the goodness)
Rotku Mon, 25th Jul '05, 6:53am Voted going by HB's amazing logic. Forgetting New Zealand... *shakes his head in disgust* :p
Benan Mon, 25th Jul '05, 6:54am Another Canadian here. From Edmonton AB.
Colthrun Mon, 25th Jul '05, 1:01pm Read the "From" under the message :p
Nakia Mon, 25th Jul '05, 2:36pm Re: Australia/New Zealand area
According to a Google search many geographers are now calling that area of the world Australia/Oceania.
Cúchulainn Mon, 25th Jul '05, 4:18pm As my home is on the border, I can be from the UK or Europe.
Harbourboy Mon, 25th Jul '05, 9:42pm Re: Australia/New Zealand area
According to a Google search many geographers are now calling that area of the world Australia/Oceania. "Australia" is a country so it won't suffice as the name of a continent / region (it would be like saying that Mexico is in the USA). "Australasia" would be acceptable as the area containing Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea, but still excludes the Pacific islands. So "Oceania" would appear to be the best word to use for the missing "continent" in this survey.
Morgoroth Mon, 25th Jul '05, 9:52pm Finland, Europe. The emerald of the north. :p
@Chev, aaww you remembered Mannerheim? This would not be a desperate attempt to gain back all the credibility you lost when you forgot to mention him in a thread a year ago or so? ;)
Sydax Tue, 26th Jul '05, 12:38am HB: I learnt in school that that zone is called Oceania.
Holaaa
Well, 34 years living in South Ameria (born there) but since september 2004, I am living in Europe, Spain, to be more specific.
Nakia Tue, 26th Jul '05, 1:48am Harbourboy, since people living in the USA are now called "Americans" I thought Mexico, Canada and everthing else is in the USA. :p Guess one is never to old to learn. :geezer:
Enagonios Tue, 26th Jul '05, 6:16am ah, point taken HB ;) is there any way for me to edit the poll? can't find an edit poll link :/
Felinoid Tue, 26th Jul '05, 7:43am Nope. You can't edit a poll after you start it. That's why it warns you so many places to make sure you got it right before you finalize it.
