There are. Just yesterday I read from Denmark Daily how an alligator attacked a fisherman near Suez. Whatever you do, DON'T use red meat as a bait, mmkay? ;)

The tough-skinned creatures are trolls. Not alligators. They got plenty trolls in Denmark, it seems, and with trolls I don't mean the women.
