As I come upon my fourth month as a registered poster here on SP, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask about avatars. 80% I can ID right off - the gems and protraits - but the other ones, like mine, are what I have trouble with.

Examples: I'm a marilith, Djeff is a mycanoid, T2Bruno is the Nameless One, Kam is an umberhulk

So, what's Barmy Army? Earl Grey? Kitrax? Lazy Bonzo? 8People? So many to name and so many I can't remember! <edit - i believe Kitrax is a rakshasa...i think>

Stand up, SPers! Help this marilith out and put a name to your avatar!

I'd say Barmy's either a flesh golem, or that guy from the documentary "Supersize This!" :lol:

I don't want to know what Kitrax's is, though. I prefer to think he's just the sorcerer in the CC thread. :D

Isn't Barmy something like a Bloated Undead or a Sunken Zombie?

You're really missing out if you haven't played Planescape: Torment.

@Tal - Yeah, the ones I don't know are probably from Torment. BA's a lemure, huh. I like him even more now! :lol: One of the first RPGs I played had lemures and the graphics had them looking like yellow boots with white fur trim. :nuts: The 'big' ones I've seen elsewhere - Nameless One, Dakkon'Zerth (sp) and Annah.

marilith? I thought you were Yxunomei, one of the main enemies in IWD, who ruled over the Dragon's Eye area untill our adventurers took her head off.

Most of the potraits are from the IWD or NWN series and as such have no identity.

Yep, mine is Lemure from Planescape Torment. It seemed a funny thing to pick at the time, now I don't like it! Isn't there one of a devilishly good-looking guy? :lol:

Yxunomei is a marilith. It's been years since I played IWD that I don't know what she looks like. All I remember is that she's one tough hombre!

I porbably know all the avatars with the possible exception of those that exist only in HoW. Anyway mine as I'm sure most of you know is a mind flayer. ;)

@Barmy. I absolutely love your avatar there is something British to it. Put a tophat on it and it would look just like Churchill. :lol:

Brother Poquelin is a priest of Illmater, or so he acts like to get information from the local Illmater church. In reality, he is a Devil sent to the Realms by the Demon Lords because of his vendetta with Yuxonemi, a Marilith Demon, so they won't bother the Lords again. After the PCs have taken out Yuxonemi, he plans to open a portal to the lower realms to take over the Forgotten Realms with an neverending army of Demons. Before he have the chance, he gets his ass handed to him by the adventurers.

Quite simple, really.

As someone who has only played the BG series, I've got a number of "what is THAT?" myself. Here's a short list:

Crawl, dmc, ejsmith, Extremist, Gothmog*, Mollusken, reepnorp, Rotku, Wildfire

I can't even work out what reepnorp's avatar is, let alone where it is from.

Mine is the Advocate from PS:T - best game ever.

My recollection is that ejsmith is some kind of snow or ice troll.

I think crawl is a black abishai from PS:T

Extremist is a member of the Harmonium (also PS:T)

Gothmog is, I think, a treant from IWD2

Mollusken might be a drowned dead from IWD2

Reepnorp is a lim lim from PS:T

I believe that Rotku is a shadow from IWD2 (but I'm slightly guessing here)

I think Wildfire is another Harmonium guy, but I can't recall exactly.

C'mon Morgoroth, as an "advocate" dmc is fully aware that there is no such thing as a "basic fact." If dmc can find enough evidence to convince a jury of reasonable doubt as to Vhailor being a Mercykiller, then who am I to argue otherwise? Come to think of it, Vhailor *did* look a little like a Harmonium officer, no? And as they say, if the helm fits, you must acquit...

Yea, it's supposed to be a black abishai, but it's really blue. Black doesn't work out well on darker backgrounds, of which there are plenty in Torment. You can spot the problem here with our black gems. It's the reason why I excluded them from the system initially.

Bion - I think your guy has popped up more than once in NWN. He's interchangeable, a bit like my old "city guard" avatar.

Bion - I'm pretty sure that the hermit in Chapter 1 of SoU (y'know, the one who'd buy the dragon egg off of you & recharge wands) used your avatar. Otherwise, they seem to have used it for "generic grumpy" characters, iirc! :shake:

Olimkrig is a fire elemental from IWD and I believe Gnolyn Lochbreaker is a water elemental from the same game.

There are lots of them, all over Sigil. They are the ones who take the bodies to the Dustmen.

I am a halfling from NWN. I never played the game long enough to face my own avatar, so I have no idea why his eyes seem so wide and orange, nor why he is standing in a green halo.
I supposed it had something divine (cleric or so) and I always create characters with a link to the divine...
