View Full Version : Same old nick kuemper Wed, 19th Oct '05, 5:04am Who on BoM *hasn't* changed their nickname? Please tell me. I'm very curious. Felinoid Wed, 19th Oct '05, 5:17am Pretty much all of the mods except for chevalier, who used to be "chevalier des Trois Tours". I don't think Ara or HB ever had a different one either, though (by his own account) HB recently came close when he changed his avatar to a raven. And of course there's me. :D I'll never change my PDN. olimikrig Wed, 19th Oct '05, 5:20am I've never changed my nick, and I don't plan on ever doing so... Laiwethel Wed, 19th Oct '05, 5:25am I haven't changed mine, and I'm not planning to. Klorox Wed, 19th Oct '05, 5:52am I changed mine, but changed it back about an hour later. :D Nakia Wed, 19th Oct '05, 6:00am I dropped the Nightshadow from Nakia. Arabwel Wed, 19th Oct '05, 7:23am I haveused this nick in some form or other since 1999 in just about every forum I participate in - not much chance of me ever changing it. (And coincidentally, I am more likely to respoond if someone calls out "Ara" than my actual name....) Death Rabbit Wed, 19th Oct '05, 7:30am Me. I honestly don't think very many of the regulars have - with the notable exception of Rutkowski, who's changed his name at 4 times that I'm aware of. I've seriously considered changing my nick to "Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Forum." I'm sure you can guess what film that would be an homage to. ;) NonSequitur Wed, 19th Oct '05, 7:37am SP is the only place where I use NonSequitur; everywhere else, it's SpoonMan instead. Haven't changed it, and don't plan on it any time soon. (and no, it's not about the song - although Soundgarden rocked - but was in reference to the amount of coffee spoons that collected on my desk at uni while I was belting out my thesis...) Lynadin Wed, 19th Oct '05, 9:10am I aleays used Lynadin as my nick, at least on theese boards ;) Harbourboy Wed, 19th Oct '05, 11:02am I have never changed my name mostly because I would get confused if I did. Rallymama Wed, 19th Oct '05, 2:21pm I'm Rallymama pretty much everywhere I go online. I'd answer to "Rally" IRL, if anyone would every put me with the nick. ;) Uytuun Wed, 19th Oct '05, 2:24pm I'm in the group of the stable ones as well. :p DarkStrider Wed, 19th Oct '05, 2:29pm I only just started mine so it's unlikely that I'll change it and I can't think why I would .... yet SatansBedFellow Wed, 19th Oct '05, 2:38pm I've been in bed with Satan for as long as I can remember... :) JSBB Wed, 19th Oct '05, 2:55pm While I have gone from gems to my old accountant avatar to my current polar bear, my nick has remained constant. I have been using JSBB for most things computer related going back to sometime around 1992. jaded empath Wed, 19th Oct '05, 3:52pm Well, *this* nick I have is somewhat a departure from my usual 'empath' but I was going through a major bout of melencholy when I signed up here. (that and I'd assumed a board about FRPGs would already HAVE an 'empath' logged in...who knew? :heh: ) I've been toying with dropping the "Apathetic" part, but 'AE' seems easier for people than even my usual 'sub-nick' of 'emp'... :) Shrikant Wed, 19th Oct '05, 3:53pm Never really changed my nick. I used to spell it with an extra 'h' when I first came on these boards, but thats all the change there has been. Jack Funk Wed, 19th Oct '05, 4:03pm Same as it ever was. dmc Wed, 19th Oct '05, 7:22pm Same as it ever was here too. I always use it because it's easy to remember (my initials) and that's what we had to use back in the old computer mainframe days (1979 or so). Barmy Army Wed, 19th Oct '05, 7:52pm I used to be Morsmordre until I decided it was a crap name, so changed to BarmyArmy, which is much better. 8people Wed, 19th Oct '05, 8:35pm always been 8people :D Always will be ;) It's quite important to me :) Sarevok• Wed, 19th Oct '05, 9:16pm Someone else has the original Sarevok nick, so I have to put a dumb circle thingie after mine, I'm waiting for Tal to remove his account, since he only has 39 posts, and 4 years of inactivity :D It's taken me a while to get used to some of the nick and avatar changes here. Disciple of The Watch Wed, 19th Oct '05, 10:28pm Changed it twice, until Tal asked me to stop changing names. :D Klorox Wed, 19th Oct '05, 10:53pm Sarevok, I think that dot is cool! Sir Belisarius Wed, 19th Oct '05, 11:41pm I've been Sir_Bel since day one - My first DnD character name. chevalier Wed, 19th Oct '05, 11:50pm As Felinoid said, my PDN used to be chevalier des Trois-Tours, although my original login name has always been chevalier. I dropped the latter part because it was just asking for typos and it was too hard on people to type when talking to me, as well. ;) kuemper Thu, 20th Oct '05, 12:01am I just notice how frequently nicks get changed as of late. Maybe there's something in the water? :hmm: Mine's been kuemper on the DnD/BG boards, though my nom de plume for internet writing is Dancer. Morgoroth Thu, 20th Oct '05, 12:24am Nope, I don't think I've ever changed my nickname. ;) Taluntain Thu, 20th Oct '05, 1:25am Just for the record, this is what I send to people who change their names more than once: "Hello. I've noticed that you've changed your publicly displayed named recently. Please note that the ability to change your name is there to be used maybe once after the initial registration (in case you've messed something up there), and at best once again after that. It is NOT there so that you can change it whenever you feel like it. Changing your name is an annoyance to everyone around you, because it confuses people when someone changes their name in mid-post, references to their previous name in threads become obsolete and confusing to everyone who's not aware that they've had a different handle previously, and so on. So please think carefully, pick a name you'll be happy with and stick with it. Thank you." Disciple of The Watch Thu, 20th Oct '05, 3:13am That sounds strangely familiar. :D Morgoth Sat, 22nd Oct '05, 1:06am If I was asked to choose a nickname now, I would take something else than Morgoth, something less evilish. But I have gotten attached to it now, and I'll never change it :) @Tal I remember getting one with the stop-using-the-bloody-coffee-smilie-as-signature!! request :D Just checked, and I don't have it anymore, too bad (feeling a little bit nostalgic) Kitrax Sat, 22nd Oct '05, 2:50am Hmmm...way back in time, when I first joined the BoM, my username was 'buzz142010', which at the time was my preferred nick...I changed it to 'Kitrax' about a week later. Ever since 'Kitrax' has been the only nick I've ever used on any message board. :rolling: Saber Sat, 22nd Oct '05, 5:52am I changed from Saber the Arsonist to just Saber, mostly because I prefer the single part, and I think when I registered, someone already had Saber. In any case, It's only been once, and it will only ever be once (Saber is my favorite name.) Ofelix Sat, 22nd Oct '05, 6:12am I was Dungeon Master for about a year and half and then I changed it to Ofelix, because I was sick of people calling me DM and it was confusoing because Death Mage was also called DM. But I won't change it I love Ofelix Too much... @Chevalier; I always though Chevalier des trois tours was a nice name, never had problem with it either ;) Eldular Sat, 22nd Oct '05, 6:37am When I first registered it was Loviatar, but upon my first appearance in the FAI I found out Loviatar is a female goddess, not a male god as I had thought (boy was that embarrassing). I then changed it to Eldular a few hours later, hoping no one had noticed  . Don't plan on changing it for obvious reasons. Rastor Sun, 23rd Oct '05, 6:17am Rastor's nick has been the same since he registered (well before most people around today it seems) although the tagline has changed once. Brallrock Sun, 23rd Oct '05, 6:26am Haven't been here long enough to change my nick! Just happened to be the name of my current char in BG2. Late-Night Thinker Sun, 23rd Oct '05, 7:52am I have always thought I should change my nick... It seems sorta pretentious... "Thinker"...? What the hell does that mean? Who doesn't think? Oh well... Not sure what I would change it to... Plus, how would people recognize the new nick was me? Felinoid Sun, 23rd Oct '05, 4:34pm @LNT: Not at all. I too used to be a late-night thinker (until I ran out of pleasant subjects), and it's a good way to describe someone who ponders the wonders and blunders of the universe when by all rights you ought to be sleeping. Nakia Sun, 23rd Oct '05, 4:41pm I love the name Late-Night Thinker. That is when I do my 'best' thinking. Or my dumbest. Shrikant Sun, 23rd Oct '05, 5:26pm  Can't tell the difference eh, Nakia? :p ;) Arahar Sun, 23rd Oct '05, 6:21pm Never changed and never will. Although I do get confused when people start talking to Arabwel and I miss half the topic :D Enagonios Fri, 28th Oct '05, 3:46am i haven't changed mine yet. was thinking of it though.. ;) Chandos the Red Fri, 28th Oct '05, 4:09am Mine is the same since I first started posting. But I regestired the first time as just Chandos. Then I forgot my password, so I re-regestired... Elwithral Irenicus Fri, 28th Oct '05, 10:03pm Elwithral Irenicus is the name of the person that I always RP with, in anything, with anyone. If you want to see a part of his history, check here. (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?/topic/12/534.html) I've been developing his character for about two years now, and if you would like to see him in action, check here. (http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?/topic/11/268.html) OK, I'll stop now.. :D Master of Nuhn Thu, 3rd Nov '05, 10:15pm Still da MoN! :p Silvery Thu, 3rd Nov '05, 11:54pm Mine was Bleedme at Black Isle and I kept that for ages when I came here but my mates all call me Silver, Brona, Cahira or Cailin. LOL, Didn't want it to be too long!! Jaguar Sun, 6th Nov '05, 11:07am I have never felt the need to change my nick. I just like the way it sounds. |
