w00t for chev the mod! But making him global would just add to his already heavy duties here on BoM. He deserves the honor, but not the headache.

Now, who voted no? :nono:

Now, who voted no? Me

I don't think he should have all the responsability on his shoulder. The guy has already have much to do.

Felinoid is correct as far as he goes.

:) However, I'm against Chev being a global mod because it would take him half a page to tell folks to cut the blank out whatever they're doing.

Also, (and more important to him) it would restrict his posts in controversial subjects. :p

Being a mod may seem an honor but it is a serious, important job. Chev could do it but why?

@Big Cat & Ofelix: That's true. However this is just a random fun poll. Tal is very picky when picking global mods, I've heard. I agree that he deserves the honor and not the headaches.

I'm not for or against it.

Why? Because rooting for someone to become an admin is a pointless waste of time.

That said...I voted no because I know it won't happen. We now have dmc as our 4th global admin. IMO 3 global admins are enough, but 4 is still ok. 5 would just be overkill with all the other mods over their respective forums.

That's just my two cents. :rolling:

Hell no - for selfish reasons, as well as concerns that Chev is doing too much already and the fact that we have 4 global mods as it is; I don't believe we need another (although that's not my decision, obviously). That, and I'd need to find another person to argue with, damn it!

Since Gnarfflinger and I have started agreeing with each other and Svyatoslav is nowhere to be seen, I'd have to start picking fights left, right and centre.

I voted yes, but only if he wanted to do it. He already writes a book worth of pages a week around here what's a few more to him?

I voted yes, but because I did not correctly read the question, mistaking it to be "Do you think Chev deserves to be a global mod?". So my actual vote is no, why? Well, the guy has enough to do as it is. Not to mention it would limit his ability to provide us with his magnificent long posts describing his views on things! :D .

IMO: Should he be a global mod? No. Does he deserve the power of a global mod? Yes. But hey, like Disciple said; "this is just a random fun poll."

Kitrax:

We now have dmc as our 4th global admin.Last time I checked, global mods are't admins. Admins have many more powers that mods do not, such as being able to delete/move/merge whole forums. But I have not been here that long, nor know the system of a UBB classic forum, so correct me if I'm wrong :D .

No from me, which has nothing to do with chevalier himself. I like him and sometimes even understand what he's blethering-er, talking about. ;) Mostly for the reasons others have said, but personally, I don't think he'd be half as much fun with the in-rush of global powah. Too much power leads to too much responsibility, to misquote Uncle Ben. :p

And, we have to consider that he ain't even regular mod as it is... As Tal mentioned in your favorite mod poll, he has to be mod in the news forums so he have an easier time editing and filtering, removing, etc...

However I voted "yes" based solely upon whether he would be a good global mod. I think he would do an exellent job, but I don't think we can count on seeing him as so within the nearest future ;)

There are only two admins; BTA and myself. And as some people have pointed out, chev already has a boatload of responsibilities around SP so he's occupied more than enough as it is. And 4 global mods should last us a long time indeed, so I have no plans on adding any more in the foreseeable future.
