View Full Version : The green guys in the video
8people Sat, 20th Apr '02, 3:28pm In the final video after you've decked Jono it shows him getting killed by slayers, yah?
Well after that it shows green robed guys talkin' about your death, charming enough but also in chapter 6/7 when travelling inbetween areas you get attacked by green people who transform into you
Who the hell are they!!!
Extremist Sat, 20th Apr '02, 3:58pm I actually don't know.
I do believe it is already answered in ToB forum, but I really don't want to read it there and spoil discovering it in ToB (when I start to play it).
8people Sat, 20th Apr '02, 4:01pm I have not seen them in ToB
Unless I missed them, as most probably
Vukodlak Sat, 20th Apr '02, 4:03pm Extremist, You are going to start Tob???? Shock Horror :aaa:
As for the question: there are several theories flying around, but wouldn't want to post them here and provide spoilers for those who haven't played ToB yet.

8people Sat, 20th Apr '02, 4:34pm Are they on th ToB forum?
Master of Nuhn Sat, 20th Apr '02, 5:25pm I just have the feeling they are Priests of Bhaal, there was a 'sign' of Bhaal (the skull with the drops around it)in the middle of the table they sit at when they speak about you....
8people Sat, 20th Apr '02, 5:37pm How come, then, they look like the cowled wizards? And anyway the Bhall priesthood were slain by their Deitys' own death
Volar Blackmane Sat, 20th Apr '02, 6:32pm Their robes are green? I thought they were dark grey myself.
*slightly spoilerish Throne of Bhaal comment, but just my opinion*
I think they are other children of Bhaal. Abazigal and Sendai themselves are sitting among them and discussing the future and things to come *coughThroneofBhaalcough* Why they are doing this I won't reveal. That isn't my opinion anymore, but a fact, buy Throne of Bhaal and find out yourself :p
Master of Nuhn Sat, 20th Apr '02, 6:47pm Since there was a Bhaal-sign on the table I dont think it were Cowled Wizkids. Could be Bhaal spawn, yeah...
Taluntain Sat, 20th Apr '02, 6:50pm They are other Bhaalspawn. And yes, this has been answered before, but I think in this forum. At the time when BioWare finished BG2, they didn't have the whole ToB worked out, so they're all in human form (i.e. look like humans), but actually they should be of various races, like you encounter in ToB.
Anyway, this is very verging on ToB, so post any further inquiries in the ToB forum.
C'Jakob Sat, 20th Apr '02, 11:08pm The people in green who transform into copies of you are dopplegangers, IIRC. Why they would want to attack you, I forget, but I doubt they have connection with the people at the end.
Extremist Sun, 21st Apr '02, 1:00am The people you meet and transform into you are not dopplegangers but rakshasa.
In SoA you never learn who in fact sent them.
8people Sun, 21st Apr '02, 10:56am If they are Rakshasa then maybe Irenicus sent them, he has some in Suldenessellar doesn't he?
yappie! Sun, 21st Apr '02, 5:39pm Green Robes, Looking like Cowled wizards...
Welcome to The Return Of The Tutors!
If i'm not mistaken, those guys look exactly like the Tutors who teach you how to play the game in BG1.
Any ideas?
DinoTiggy1 Tue, 23rd Apr '02, 6:53pm Ahh, the monks from Candle Keep strike again, what will they do this time, teach us to climb stairs?!!?!?
Desu Wed, 24th Apr '02, 10:56am There were six of them. The council of the Cowled Wizards...
Check the game, go to the government district and talk around a bit, they surely give some information about this council or however it is called.
I'm pretty sure that they are Cowled Wizards.
PS: Those were not green robes, rather darkgrey robes..
ArchAngel Wed, 24th Apr '02, 5:37pm Who are cowled wizards for sure Desu?
The wizards in the counsil of the cowled wizards?
The tutors?
Those around the last table?
Those who attacks you after transforming?
Vukodlak Wed, 24th Apr '02, 7:16pm They are ALL Cowled Wizards! It's a conspiracy! A conspiracy I tell you!!!
But there are few things during the game which sort of confused me. Both that Gnome in the circus and the Troll in Nalia's keep hinted they were working for someone else. Who?
The Cowled Wizards? The harpers? Irenicus? Bodhi? Firkraag? Bioware? Tiax? Kasio?
Master of Nuhn Wed, 24th Apr '02, 7:21pm And still I could see that Bhaal-icon on the table. What do cowled wizards have to do with Bhaal? Or the Tutors? Unless it is a conspiracy...
Actually there were 7 of these dark grey slightly green figures at that table...knowing that that Spawn of Bhaal is doomed....

8people Wed, 24th Apr '02, 8:00pm The five, your ToB (blankname) enemy, and someone like Saemon or Volo (saemon goes anywhere) (Volo might be recording about you, but then again he doesn't like Halfling holes)
Taluntain Wed, 24th Apr '02, 9:12pm For the 6th, and last time, they are other Bhaalspawn. I can't believe to what lengths people here will go to not only beat a dead horse, but to mutilate it, rip its eyes out and cook it. You people are amazing.
READ THIS: BIOWARE HAS ANSWERED THIS QUESTION BEFORE. THE PEOPLE SITTING AROUND THE TABLE ARE OTHER BHAALSPAWN. THEY ALL APPEAR HUMAN BECAUSE BIOWARE DID NOT HAVE THE WHOLE TOB (WHERE SOME OF THEM ARE NOT) WORKED OUT YET AT THE TIME OF COMPLETION OF BG2.
I wrote the same thing in the parallel topic in the ToB forum.
Nivek The Mad Thu, 25th Apr '02, 7:31pm Now, why would one need to rip the eyes out of a beaten-to-death dead horse before cooking? Is that like poking holes in a potato before microwaving or is it some sort of Harper thing ...?

8people Sun, 28th Apr '02, 9:32pm Jaheira is a harper but she objects too killing horses, while Minsc says he'd rather rip his own eyes out
Brightblade Sun, 28th Apr '02, 11:20pm I dont mean to Nit-pick, but that symbol is NOT the holy symbol of bhaal. its the holy symbol of mykukl(sp) the former god of death. while Bhall is the god of murder, both were replaced, along with Bane, by Cyric.
8people Mon, 29th Apr '02, 6:31pm Is it? Myrkuls symbol doesn't have the tear-drop shapes around it though, only Bhaals does, Myrkuls symbol also has red eyes, does it not? On IWD it does
yappie! Mon, 29th Apr '02, 6:48pm It could always be Eyes and not Tear-Drops, i feel Good ol' Vecna returning!
(As for those who dont know, Vecna is the God of Necromancy)
And why a horse anyway..? What does a horse have to do with Tutors planning to remove the-arcane-knowledge-of-opening-a-door from our brains?!:mommy:
And where you watching a video at the time? The Green Guys In The Video could be anything from a sickly E.T to Welcome To Pea-Pod Land.
8people Mon, 29th Apr '02, 6:53pm They're not green what they wear is, or looks it on my game anyway
yappie! Mon, 29th Apr '02, 9:35pm Oh you nitty-picky. :nolike:
